Ghost Hunt: Panic in the Country

Ghost Hunt: Panic in the Country
Vol. 0: I Lost | 8. First Day

In the morning say hello, people are busy with their respective activities. The streets of the city are crowded with many vehicles. Astan put on a smile as he walked out of the room and greeted Rei who was providing breakfast. He sat down right in front of Rei who was waiting for him. A second later, they began to eat the fried rice in silence. Occasionally Astan gave a glance to Rei. However, Astan did not dare to start the conversation. After finishing the last bribe, Astan ventured to open his voice. Giving a question that made Rei stop his steps. Without answering Astan's question, Rei stepped towards the kitchen laundry.

“What is brother mad at me? I will not give the ghosts food anymore,” said Astan with a face full of regret.

Hearing Astan's words, Rei stopped the movement of the hand. End the dish washing and some kitchen utensils. Rei turned around and stepped closer to Astan who was standing. Rei reached out to Astan's head, giving a soft swipe with a smile on his face. However, Astan just put on his pouting face.

“You're already big, don't have to frown like that. I just have a little problem,” said Rei pulled his hand.

“Kin' on that?” ask Astan again.

“Yes, that's all. Better we go, it's your first day of work instead of.” Rei spoke softly and left Astan.

With a fluffy smile Astan walked quickly after Rei who had been wearing work shoes. Astan walked right beside Rei's left and continued to follow him like a chick that always followed the mother. They walked together through a fairly crowded street to a bus stop. They stood on the side of the bus stop and not long after the light blue bus numbered destination C-3. After saying goodbye to Rei to go and walk in, he attached a payment card to a rectangular device near the driver. In all public vehicles can accept payment using Weal Coins or Weal Cards.

He sat right beside the window, making him able to see Rei who was still standing by the side of the stop. Astan chose a silent daydream, putting a black backpack right on his lap. Instant Daydream instantly disappeared when the sound of a mobile phone ringing in the bag. Astan picks up the phone and plays the fingers over the flat screen. The message from Endra was clear, Astan began to busy himself replying to the message. Stored back by his cell phone as the bus stopped, he stepped out of the bus stop, down the street lined with tall buildings. He had to pass through two building blocks until in front of an office that had dull walls and looked to have aged. The building is surrounded by a tall and nice building, making it look very, very striking.

Instant entered and stood in front of the elevator together with a few people, until the sound of ‘Ting’ rang out loud, they all stepped in. Astan chose to stand at the very back.  The elevator moved up and stopped on the fourth floor. He went out and looked for a lawyer's office until he was in front of a door with the number fourteen. A small board is attached to the left wall that says the name of the office is CV. Hopefulness. Astan set his breath and pushed the door made of glass. A woman standing behind a wooden table greeted Astan with a big smile. Astan walked up to the reception desk and he gave a few questions. He asked Astan to follow him until they were in the living room of the office.

Black sofa neatly arranged complete with rectangular table. The office employees were sitting so casually, various kinds of breakfast food arranged on the table. They turned their eyes towards Astan and gave a warm smile. So did Endra who put on the widest smile. The receptionist just left Astan. Confused Astan did not move at all from his position until Endra stood up and invited him to join. Although still feeling confused, Astan followed all the directions from Endra.

They all told each other their names and ages and continued to eat food. Astan could only silently watch them chewing food until the heavy-sounding male voice made everything go silent. The man gave some scolding to all the employees who were still eating breakfast. After a while, the man stopped his tirade and let them finish all the food.

A few seconds later, they had finished the morning meal. They head to their respective desks and Endra tells Astan's workspace. They were in a room at the back. There is a toilet, a washing kitchen utensil, and not left behind also a refrigerator that must be there.

“No problem right, if you work as an office boy?” ask Endra.

“I'm just a graduate of ATD (Academy Level Two), what do you think I can work for?” ask back to Astan.

“Why not proceed to ATT (Level Three Academy)? I also work at school. So, you can also.” Endra again asked and gave a little advice to Astan.

“I just graduated, maybe I'll work first. Only after I'm ready will I continue college.” Astan replied casually.

They continued the conversation for a moment until the female voice called out to Endra. Endra quickly left Astan after giving several explanations about his work. He is in Hendrik's 39-year-old lawyer's room and is the owner of the CV. Hopefulness. Endra just stood in front of Hendrik's desk who was opening the desk drawer. Hendrik puts a brown envelope on the table and assigns a task to Endra. Without asking Endra picked up the envelope and hurried away.

He picked up a black jacket and Endra rushed off on a green bus. On the bus Endra occasionally looked out the window, staring at the streets that were always filled with vehicles. Street vendors filled the sidewalks, even small children selling tissue on the streets. Endra sighed softly, ending the activity of seeing the outside scenery. However, he fell silent, bowing his head until a soft snoring sound was heard. Making the people on the bus just look at Endra and ignore him.

Even Endra was not disturbed by the sound of the vehicle until the bus stopped. Make Endra open both eyelids, raise the head, and yawn widely. Endra came out and walked to the left of the stop, he stopped stepping when he arrived in front of a gate that read ‘District D-6’. This district is a dangerous place, even the government or the police no one dares to approach and touch. If they do that, bad things will happen. Endra walked through the gate just like that, without having to show his identity.
