"I .. I don't want to, Ma. But I don't like the way Mas Adi decides without talking to me first. Why do I have to meet my mom and dad behind me?" Adelia was still pouting.
"Mama and papa are sorry if it makes Mbak disappointed. We also did not know that Mas Adi would discuss that. Adi just said he wanted to talk to us." Sarah's mother caressed her daughter's head affectionately.
Adelia shook her head, she grabbed her mother's hand and kissed the back of the woman who had given birth to her.
"Mama and Papa are not wrong. I don't mean to blame Mom and Dad. I apologize for overreacting. Mbak just feel annoyed with Mas Adi why not talk about this first."
"How do you want it now?" ask Sarah's mother gently.
"Mbak wants to talk to Mas Adi first" replied Adelia.
"Yes, then let me tell Mas Adi that you should talk to both first."
"No, Ma. I want to call Mas Adi."
"But it's late at night, ma'am." Sarah's mother pointed to the clock that was stuck on the wall of Adelia's room showing it at 10:00 p.m.
"Bak sure Mas Adi hasn't slept. Mama take it easy. Now Mama rest first, must be tired right." Adelia massaged her mother's arm.
"Sir, don't use emotions to talk to Mas Adi. Mas Adi's intentions were good. Please reconsider what you said earlier" Sarah's mother said.
"Yes, Mama take it easy. Trust me the same." Adelia convinced her mother. "Now, Mama rest first. Poor papa sleeping in his own room."
"Excreate this mama?" seloroh Sarah's Mother.
"No, Ma. But it's late, Mama's tomorrow at work."
"Yes, mom knows. Remember yes Ma'am, well say the same Mas Adi."
"Yes, Mama Darling." Adelia peeked at her mother's cheek.
Sarah's mother smiled and got up from her seat, leaving her eldest daughter's room.
Adelia took her gawai and sat with her back leaning on the headboard. She was looking for the name of her future husband's contact.
"Bismillah" he said before pressing the green button, a sign of making a call.
Adelia with a pounding heart waited for her future priest to answer her call.
"Assalamu'alaikum," greeted Adelia as soon as Adi picked up her phone after the fifth ring.
"Wa'alaikumussalam's chat. Is there a problem? Why call the night?" adi's voice sounded anxious from across the phone.
"There's something I want to talk about, Mom. Is Mas Adi asleep?" ask Adelia.
"Not yet, this is just a conversation with Dita and Rendra. What do you want to talk about?"
Adelia sighed before speaking, setting her heart and emotions.
"Mas Adi, why don't you talk to me before you decide to speed up your marriage? Do I not need his opinion in this case when later me and Mas Adi who will live it?" Adelia ignited her emotions a little.
"I'm sorry for making you feel unappreciated. By God, I never intended to do that. I admit I was wrong to have made my own decision without involving you. I think you'll agree with my decision. If you don't agree, it's okay. I will accept whatever your decision is. I'll change my plans again."
"It's not a matter of agreeing or not, Mom. I know this is all for our good. But I don't like the way Mas Adi decides everything himself. And also secretly met with mom and dad without my knowledge."
"good. I'm sorry once again. I promise I won't repeat it again. Will you forgive me?"
Adelia remained silent.
"Adelia, hello. You're still there, right?"
"Yes, Mas. I forgive Mas Adi. May Mas Adi keep his promise."
"Alhamdulillah. God willing, I will keep my promise. Please remind me that later I will break it because I am just a normal human being the place is wrong and khilaf."
"Yes, Mas" said Adelia slowly.
"So how do you agree or not we get married the day after tomorrow? I'm sure Aunt Sarah has explained why."
"What does Mas Adi think is the best decision? Is there no alternative?" ask Adelia.
"God willing is the best in my opinion. But if you have any other proposal just say it, I'm ready to listen. Just a minute."
Faintly heard Adi was talking to Dita or Rendra for a while.
"Sorry to wait. Dita Sama Rendra came home. Where did we get to?"
"Alternative to other decisions" Adelia said.
"Oh yes, do you have a suggestion, what should I do to face Restu and protect you?"
"Nothing, Mom."
"Does that mean you agreed we were married the day after tomorrow?"
"If there is no other way, God willing, I agree."
"Alhamdulillah. Thank you, Adelia. Then I don't have to change all my plans."
"Saturday tomorrow we meet Restu, giving him a surprise that we're married. But you can't get me wrong if I'm gonna show off to her. I want him to know that you've forgotten him and you have me as your husband. Hopefully with that he realizes that his actions have been wrong and will not bother you again."
"But I don't want to see him again, Mom."
"Why?"
"I'm sick of seeing her face that looks innocent and kind but turns out her behavior is depraved."
"Okay, I get it. But, I beg you very much, you want to leave Saturday tomorrow. You have to show him that you're happier after not being with him. Wanna?"
Adelia remained silent.
"You don't have to be afraid of him. There I will defend and protect you. If he dares to mess with you means that he is looking for trouble with me. Please, will ya?"
"Yes, Mum."
"thank you. Oh yeah, there's one more thing I want to talk about. I didn't know Aunt Sarah told me about this or not."
"What's the matter, Mom?" adelia asked curiously.
"After we get married, I want you to stay right here in my house. Do you want to?"
Adelia was surprised by Adi's question. Shouldn't the wife follow wherever her husband lives.
"Why did Mas Adi ask that?" Adelia frowned in wonder.
"Yes, who knows you want to live apart like Dita used to. I was just anticipating. I asked Om and Aunt for permission, too, and they let me."
"Without Mas Adi asking, I will definitely join Mas Adi after we get married. That was my commitment from a long time ago. But, can I occasionally come and stay at papa's house?"
"Of course I can. Time to look at the elderly can not. I don't want to be a bad son-in-law to my in-laws. I also go home once a month to stay at my father's house. We can arrange that later. Not a big deal."
"Thank you, Mum."
"Yes, equally. Is there anything still going on?"
"God willing, there is no more, Mom."
"It's night, it's not good to sleep too night. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Maybe tomorrow Dita will meet you to discuss the technical implementation of the contract."
"Good, Mas."
"Mmmhhhh before I forget again... You want what dowry from me?"
"A device of prayer and the Qur'an, Mas."
"just that? Don't want jewelry or money or anything else."
"No, Mas. That's enough."
"Why?"
"One of my intentions is to get married because I want to be guided by Mas Adi closer to God. So that set of prayer tools and the Qur'an I hope will remind me of my purpose."
"God willing, without the dowry, God willing, I will guide you. But if that's what you want it doesn't matter. Tomorrow just go with Dita find the dowry you want."
"It doesn't have to be to my liking or taste, Mas. God willing, I will accept whatever Mas Adi gives."
"Don't, the dowry is later for you to wear, not as a display or just keep. So it has to be what makes you comfortable. Can you go with Dita?"
"If it's Mas Adi's wish, God willing, I can."
"good. It is clear everything, agreement, residence and dowry. There's no more wedge, is there?"
"God willing, it's clear, Mom."
"Because it's very late, go to bed immediately do not stay up late. Good night, good dreams. Don't forget to wudu and pray before going to bed."
"Yes, Mum."
"See you on Friday. Wassalamu'alaikum."
"Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh."
