"Harvey," called Maura when the dashing young man had just gotten out of his car, but the man only took a quick glance and continued his steps like he had not seen him there.
"You guys got into a fight?" Hera, his best friend, also looked at the wonder of Harvey's back that was getting farther.
"No, yesterday we were still joking." Maura still could not believe if the man she called earlier, her lover who always smiled warmly.
Maura took her phone from the bag and sent her a message. Only then did his last message last night not be read at all let alone in reply by Harvey.
"Maybe again there is a task or the paper is rejected by the supervisor. You'll try to meet him." Hera embraced his shoulders and comforted him. He was still stunned to see the new message he sent also fared the same as the previous message.
In the afternoon at the usual place and at the same hour, Maura awaits Harvey at the usual place they meet. The hill behind the campus, under a large, shady tree. But until almost sunset, Harvey's nostrils were not at all visible. The message he sent last night is still unread. At the peak of annoyance and curiosity, Maura decided to contact her lover directly.
"Darling, why don't you return my message?" Burst Maura as soon as Harvey answered her call.
"Sorry, I'm busy." Harvey's voice sounded flat and uninspired.
"What the hell are you, Yang? Any problem? To the hill of hope yuk, I waited for you from earlier. Buruan is almost dark," cried Maura.
"Sorry, I've been home since noon."
"Huh, you why are you staying with me? Why are you today?" Maura stood up. This time Harvey went home without waiting for him.
"I'm sorry, I'm closing up, Mama called me." Not answering his girlfriend's questions, Harvey cut off the phone call just like that.
"Harvey?" Maura stared at the screen of her dead phone. Throughout his acquaintance with Harvey, the man never cut his phone unilaterally.
How many times have you said sorry, what happened to Harvey? Did his ears hear wrong, like there was a woman's voice calling her lover's name?
Harvey cheating? or is he who is too far-sighted because of his lover's attitude that suddenly changes?
Maura came home with a lot of questions spinning around her head. He went into the room and climbed into the bed without taking his clothes off. His mind was too heavy just to change clothes.
Right at midnight when he was asleep, his cell phone alarm rang. Today Harvey expressed his feelings during the SMU graduation announcement in front of his friends and teachers.
"Well, he must have gotten me. Want to do my cuekin skit, keep giving me surprises." Maura's smile expanded widely.
In his mind already illustrated how tomorrow Harvey gave him a romantic surprise. Especially a few days ago, they had a chance to talk about things that lead to the future. Dissolved with his delusion, Maura rolled around on the bed of excitement.
"It's so nice to see, is it better?" Hera teases Maura, who is watching the phone screen, looking forward to a message or phone call from Harvey on their anniversary.
"Today turned out to be our fifth anniversary" Maura whispered happily.
"Then?"
"It looks like his silent act yesterday, want a surprise. Want to try to make me angry the story," said Maura sure.
"It makes sense." Hera nodded her head in agreement.
"If Harvey goes to bed, what do I say?"
"What if he wants to propose to you?"
"It's like that." Maura giggled happily, "Harvey said, after she graduated we're getting married no matter I'm done with college or not." Maura blushed remembering their talk on top of the hill of hope.
"If you're in the room, just say I accept it, honey."
"Yes, Har." Long time no hear the voice of his lover, Maura's chest pounded as when Harvey was still approaching on the bench SMU.
"Tomorrow Mama and Papa's wedding anniversary."
"You invited me, Harvey?" Maura could not hide her happiness.
"I just told you, you don't have to come. It's just a simple family event."
"could. I must be present." said Maura quickly. He held back his voice so as not to sound too excited.
"But sorry, I can't pick you up because I have something to prepare. If you're in trouble, there's no need to come." Harvey still tried to ban him from attending.
"It's okay, later I can take a taxi online."
Maura held back her smile hearing Harvey was preparing something. In his mind, the man would kneel proposing to him and pin the ring on his ring finger.
"You sure? the place is far away, it doesn't matter if you don't come."
"I'm sure, Har. Just send me the address."
"Well, I'll send you a message." I heard heavy breathing across there.
"OK, Honey. I'll see you tomorrow I Love you."
" ... See you tomorrow, Maura. "
There was an uncomfortable pulse with Harvey's words before breaking up the conversation. There was no reply to the expression of love that he uttered before ending the conversation.
Maura held a cell phone in her hand. Since Harvey invited her yesterday and sent her the address of their family event, her lover no longer contacted her.
"Molaaa, that's your online taxi's already in data." Her mother shouted from the first floor.
"Yes, Maaa." After making sure his appearance was nothing less, he rushed out of the room.
"Duh, beautiful daughter Mama. Are you sure you don't want to take Papi or your brother?" Mama cupped Maura's cheeks.
"Son Willi'll go with the girls again. Mama knows for herself that Papi doesn't really like Harvey's dad."
"Yes, Mama knows they are always in business. This is your show with Harvey's family anyway. Careful, yeah. Remember, don't go home alone. Wait for Harvey to drive you home!" Mama held up her index finger before her daughter closed the car door.
Maura's ride-hailing online taxi takes her to a star-rated hotel, where her biggest ballroom is already rented by Harvey's parents.
'Saying a simple family party, but a luxurious place invited also officials.' Maura spread her gaze. He stood between an adult male and female who looked respectable.
No one welcomed him. Harvey and his family were nowhere to be seen. Preparations in the event space are all handled by the event organizer. Maura took a position in the right corner near the music player. At least he didn't feel lonely there.
Until the host took to the stage to bring a word of two welcome, Maura still did not know any of the invitations who entered the room with her.
"Am I in the wrong place?" Maura again saw the message Harvey sent her last night. Just then the host invited the invitations to stand up, to greet the host who was about to enter the room.
