Maura tried to stand up from her seat. He was afraid that the longer he was in the room, he could suddenly shout hysterically and make the happy atmosphere turn chaotic. His legs felt heavy as he tried to step outside. He hopes not to faint, before he can reach the exit of the ballroom.
Maura tried to harden her heart. Between the thump of music and the joyous cheers of the invitees, he walked through the ranks of people who stood to capture the moment of his lover's engagement with another woman.
Before actually coming out of the large room, Maura turned her head back and looked towards the stage. He wanted to be sure and hoped to see it wrong. In the last second, he still hopes the host calls his name and the invitees pull his hand up the stage and Harvey says that this is how he proposes.
But the reality remains unchanged, no one there thinks it exists. He should have gone from there earlier and not looked again. Regretting turning his head, he found Harvey kissing the girl's cheeks and forehead.
Bursting Maura's defences, tears came crashing down right in front of the entrance to Harvey's family's showroom. Not knowing how, he can smoothly ask the help of the hotel attendant to book a taxi online.
Maura was crying in silence. Her tears continued to flow without any sound and expression. He doesn't know what to feel. Getting angry? Disappointed? Saddened? His heart and mind were suddenly empty and empty. He found no room to be angry with his girlfriend. During this time Harvey showed no signs of cheating, their relationship was fine.
Not yet at the destination, his phone rang and Harvey's name was listed there.
"Hello, Maura, where are you?" harvey's voice panicked across the street.
"Harvey," said Maura Iirih. The multitude of questions and the millions of feelings in his heart could only be revealed with one word.
"I can explain everything. Please believe me, are you okay, honey?" Maura didn't say. He could only cry with a freshly heard sobbing after hearing Harvey's voice.
"Don't cry, Maura. I'm here also sick of seeing you earlier," Harvey softly said. He who is hiding in the toilet, must muffle his voice so as not to be heard by others, "Darling I have to come back, later tonight I call again and I will tell you, I will tell you, what really happened. Wait for me."
Maura's heart was relieved that she felt her Harvey remained the same unchanged. The guy on stage somehow told the story, he didn't think it was Harvey he knew.
At night, Maura was unable to close her eyes for a moment. Repeatedly checking his dark phone screen without any messages let alone incoming calls from Harvey. Until the sun came up, Maura was still sitting leaning back while looking at her phone screen.
At exactly seven o'clock in the morning, Maura washed her face, changed her clothes and prepared for college. Not for college, but to see his girlfriend.
Maura headed straight for Harvey's faculty building. His eyes still occasionally peeked at the screen of his phone, hoping for a miracle there.
"Bas, Harvey's here yet?"
"Harvey's? Didn't he take a leave?"
"The holidays? Since when?"
"Yesterday if it's not wrong. What the hell, you don't know." Bastian's curse, Harvey's friend further added to Maura's heartache.
Without saying anything, Maura simply nodded and passed from there. His finger pressed Harvey's cell phone number again for the umpteenth time, but nothing was answered.
Maura recalled their brief conversation last night, she felt that something was wrong with her lover.
"He must have a problem. Poor Harvey must be feeling depressed and alone now."
Half-run, Maura arrived at the apartment that they planned to stay after marriage later. It is not difficult for Maura to be able to enter the apartment she spends every day with her lover.
The coded door instantly opened as soon as Maura pressed the five numbers she memorized out of her head. His steps came to a halt when his feet hit a pair of women's shoes and it wasn't his.
"Harvey," Maura called out almost inaudible. His feet continued forward with dragging steps. Although the apartment room was still pitch black without lighting, Maura memorized every corner.
His hand reached for Harvey's door handle trembling. Cold sweat soaked his palms, when in contact with the coldness of the door handles.
Just then the door of the room opened, "Maura?" harvey was surprised. Maura was no less surprised, she found her lover bare-chested and the lower body covered by underwear only.
"Who's Harveeey?" The voice in the room called out with a stinging voice.
"Si--"
"Sst." Not yet complete Maura's question, her lover's hand closed his mouth, "Nobody, sleep again I get you a drink," Harvey exclaimed to someone in there.
Harvey's hand kept Maura's mouth open as he led the girl into the bathroom near the kitchen. He did not care about Maura's eyes wondering who and what had happened in the room earlier.
"Why are you here? Why don't you wait to hear from me?" harvey said softly but firmly.
"Who's inside? What was the woman you were with on stage last night? Tell Harvey, what happened? I'm confused!" Maura hit Harvey's bare chest with both hands.
"Ssttt, don't be loud. Wait for me to explain, don't meet me for a while. Let me come to you." Next to Harvey's hand shut Maura's mouth, the other side held her lover's fist so as not to hit her chest again.
"Why not now? I need an explanation now!" Maura screamed with a stifled voice.
"Please understand me, honey. Trust me, my love is only for you." Harvey tries to seduce Maura.
"W-what happened to you last night?" Maura realizes that Harvey only wears underwear.
"Ti-it's nothing. Really am! You have to believe, we're getting married, right?" Harvey cupped Maura's cheek.
"Ta---"
Maura's words were interrupted by Harvey's lips which clenched his lips long and deep. The first kiss for him, because all this time Harvey only dared to kiss his lips.
"Now go home. Don't meet and approach me, if I'm not the one who came to you." Harvey did not let Maura ask further, the man led Maura out of the apartment and locked the door from the inside.
Like a fool, Maura was standing at the door of Harvey's apartment room. She held her new lips that time feeling the intimate touch of a man. He felt that something was different from Harvey, there was a foreign desire in the kiss.
