Sunday has arrived. A few days ago, Miko had promised Tantri to take the girl for a walk while shopping at the mall.
Because it was a holiday, Mr. Afdal and Ms. Melda were at home. The two of them always spend time on the day off for their beloved family. That's why the key to their marriage is always harmonious even though their marriage age has stepped on more than 3 decades.
That morning Miko and Tantri were ready to leave, the two of them walked together down the stairs while chatting. Sometimes they both seem to laugh together. I don't know what the two of them are talking about. Only the two of them know. They both did not realize that 2 pairs of eyes were watching their movements.
"Where are you going?" mr. Afdal's question suddenly stopped the steps of the two of them who had just escaped from the stairs.
"We're going for a walk, Pa, Ma." said Miko a little nervously. He did not know that his mother and father were sitting in the living room.
"Oh." said Mr. Afdal.
"Where do you want to go for a walk?" ask Ms. Melda curiously.
"To the mall, Ma."
"To the mall, Aunt."
They both answered simultaneously. Miko and Tantri also approached the middle-aged couple. They want to pay for both.
"Oh, don't you guys take it long, yeah. Because this afternoon, Mama's going to be holding a rally at this house with Mama's friends,"
"Good, Ma."
"Good, Auntie."
"Pa, Mama. We left first," said Miko as she shook her parents' hands. The same is true of Tantri. After saying goodbye, the two of them left immediately. The parents watched as the back of their son, along with the back of a girl they thought was their own son, was swallowed up by the walls of the room next to him.
"Ma! What, Mama also felt that our son loved the girl," asked Mr. Afdal. Ms. Melda was so surprised. How could her husband have the same thoughts as her? Her thought.
"It turns out, Papa also thinks like that," said Ms. Melda.
"Are our minds the same?" Mr. Afdal was no less surprised. It turned out that the two of them had the same premonition regarding their youngest son.
But to confirm his suspicions, he finally decided to take the girl home. And it turns out that his suspicions are true. When he brought Tantri to come home with him, unexpectedly his son also followed home without the need for persuasion and without the need for him to ask as he usually does.
"Oh, so it seems. Papa was already suspicious when our son suddenly returned home. So all that he did for the girl. Why, Mama never told me the same Papa?"
"That's because Mama's scared, Pa. Mama's afraid that, Papa's back against our son's feelings. Like, Papa did when Miko had a relationship with that girl named Lyvia. Mama doesn't want Miko to leave the house for the second time" Melda explained. Although he had also opposed his son's relationship with Lyvia, it was Mr. Afdal who was more determined to oppose him. The middle-aged man did not want his son to be in a relationship with a woman who likes to change partners.
"That's the reason, Mama knows for herself. Papa did not approve of our child's relationship with Lyvia because Papa had several times caught Lyvia street with other different men. Papa doesn't want our son's heart to be hurt, Ma."
"Papa's right. Mama also does not want our child to be hurt by a woman like that Lyvia."
"Pa! Mom curious. How, Papa can tell if Miko put her heart on Tantri." continued Ms. Melda again.
"Papa can tell by the way our son looks at and treats the girl. Papa can also see that Miko looks more cheerful and happy since she returned to this house. It was a lot different before he left this house first. But there's one that Papa is worried about" Mr. Afdal paused.
"What is that, Pa?" ask Ms. Melda curiously.
"Papa is worried that Tantri does not have the same taste in our son, Ma." explained Mr. Afdal expressed his concern.
"Why, Papa thinks like that? Our son is handsome, well-established, and successful. Is there still a girl who dares to turn down our son, Pa?" ask Ms. Melda. He often exaggerates when he praises his son.
"That's not the case, Ma. You as fellow women should be able to understand better. Their age is far away. And, it looks like the girl is treating our child like a little sister who treats her older brother." explains Mr. Afdal. Ms. Melda was silent for a moment, she tried to digest her husband's words just now. After a long silence, the middle-aged woman finally understood.
"Pa! Papa don't worry. Mama wants to make sure first how our son feels about the girl. If it turns out to be true, Mama would do anything to tie the girl to our son's side all their lives."
"Mama sure? What, Mama want to do?" ask Mr. Afdal curious.
"Mama doesn't have to say it now. Later, Papa will see for himself."
"But remember, Ma. Mama, don't be so selfish. If that girl doesn't love our son. Mama don't force. We should respect the feelings of our fellow men."
"Ah, Papa take it easy. Love is like a plant, Pa. After we sow the seeds, over time the plants will grow if we diligently water them with enough water. So is love, Pa. Mama's gonna make that girl love our son."
