I'm the Descendant of the Goddess Eat?
Chapter 14: Charcoal water replacement

"I will accept the request, but please change the return" Retia said. His heart was beating so fast, it was about to explode.

"So, what do you want? Luxury home? Priority in magic tool manufacturing? My connection to the Empire?" ask Khan. His face now planted a suspicious expression.

"I want it all" Retia said in a low tone of voice.

Khan was pale, his facial expression full of disdain.

"Don't tell me you want me?"

"No-no, I mean..."

Retia could not finish her words. Too scared and doubtful. I don't know what a good decision to try my luck with this freak.

"Hm?"

Retia took a deep breath, exhaling it along with hesitation. If later Khan tried to do something to him, there was still Hans and if Hans could not overcome Retia could use her identity as the Descendant of the Goddess of Eating. "Yes, it must work" he thought.

"I'd like you to work with the business I'd like to grow" Retia said. Her spirit flared up, by tying up cooperation with Khan, Retia was sure her name would flutter and no one would pimp her at the cooking competition later.

Hearing and seeing Retia's serious expression, Khan fell silent for a moment, then shouted to his servant, calling out,

"Roon!"

"Yes, sir."

"Bring the others out for a moment" he said.

"Okay, come on."

Ron takes everyone out, leaving Retia and her fading spirit. Now that the witnesses have been removed, will Retia die today?

In the dining room, there was only Retia and Khan on his waist hanging a long sword. Retia felt very unlucky for not bringing her supernatural frying pan. His mind continued to pray that the second life existed and was real.

"So, what business are you talking about?" ask Khan again.

"I want to start a soap cleaning business."

"Soap? Explain what soap is and why do you think the business will thrive?"

"Okay, I'll explain."

"Before, as I walked to the Northern part of Sorrow, I saw many twigs on the river that were used by the lower classes as a place for washing and public toilets."

"Continue."

"I saw many women go to wash, they brought a small pitcher of charcoal water that had been left for a day, a stick to clean the dirt, and a basin to soak clothes with charcoal water."

"So soap is a charcoal water substitute?"

"Yes, right. If soap is used with water and rubbed, its use is the same as charcoal water. Slippery and cleans stains, but does not make the hands rough."

"Are you sure of the market value? What about production costs and selling prices? Are you sure people will start using soap instead of charcoal water?"

"Yes, soap is made with oil mixed with charcoal and soda fire, in addition to it—

"Enough!"

"Ah, fine..."

Retia was very surprised, "Now what else does this magical Landlord have in mind?" his inner.

"Roon!"

"Yes, Master!"

Ron immediately faced, running a little towards his master.

"Take this."

Khan gave Retia the same bag of cloth as the gold she had given him.

Ron opened the cloth bag and found dozens of gold coins inside.

"Use all that to buy raw materials for soap making with Miss Retia," asked Khan who was now rising from his seat.

"Good!"

Khan walked towards Retia's bench and brought her mouth closer to Retia's ear.

"So, Miss Retia, I hope you can prove to me how great the soap is, as well as its selling price and target market when you already know the price of the raw materials. Stay here for a while. Ah, no, I hope you don't leave this place before your project is successful" he threatened.

"Don't tell me the bad news."

"Ba-good."

Khan left the mansion and only returned after one week. During that time, Retia was forced to stay at the Mansion while continuing to experiment with soap and teach the cooks the recipe for crab dishes. Retia kept asking in her heart, is Hans looking for her at the moment or not?

...•••...

In the Reona region, the same night that Khan left the Mansion.

At the Glagash Village that was isolated along with its curse, right inside the Goddess Eat Temple. Hans looks in all-black clothes that blend in with the darkness.

Hans entered the temple, right in the room of the former Goddess of Food. A candlelight illuminated the room and there was a girl inside.

Hans sat down in front of the red curtain, right behind him was the girl.

"Is that you Hans? Is something going on? You don't usually come here twice a week." The girl's voice was very melodious and a little watery.

"Sorry to interrupt your night, Princess. I'm here to bring you good news."

"What is that, Hans? Has the cure for this curse been found?"

"Not that, but you could say it's the same thing."

"Say, Hans. Tell me." The princess grew impatient to hear the good news from Hans.

"The descendants of the Goddess of Eating have descended into this world."

The princess was silent for a while, before she finally asked, "Have you confirmed?"

"Yes, everything is the same as in the legends," Hans explained.

"Please keep an eye on him for some time, then make sure he finishes his destiny." The Princess gave the order and Hans immediately responded, "I'll do your bidding."

...•••...

Hans walked out of the Temple with his various expressions. His eyes were watery and full of anxiety. The last message from the teacher— Mid Guardian earlier — was heard in silence.

"Now that you are the new Mid Guardian, your duty is not only to guard this region, but also to welcome and ensure the new Goddess of Food remains on the path of her destiny."

Hans breathed a heavy breath.

"Well, this is really becoming more and more troublesome," his inner self.

Hans continued on his way, one step, two steps, three steps. Hans realized something was wrong and quickly ran and hit a large tree until its trunk was crushed and fell.

"Who are you? What are you doing in this place?" hans asked the figure who jumped onto another tree when Hans uprooted the tree on which he stood.

"I came here because I heard that this place was caged and filled with rare monsters."

A man's voice rang out from the top of the tree, then he descended down very quickly.

"I came here with the intention of obtaining materials to forge some artifacts. But what is this that I found? Haha."

The man laughed, took out a sword from its sheath, then pointed it at the moonlight.

The man slowly approached, coming out from the shadow of the tree. So it seems that the man is Khan, with his black hair and his evil grin widened.

"So, what are you doing here, empty fourteen?" khan asked who now had his sword covered by the blue moonlight.
