I'm the Descendant of the Goddess Eat?
Chapter 8: Sorrow City

"Can I come with you?" retia asked a little pleading. Retia's cheeks were hot, this kind of attitude was not what she used to do. As a girl who is used to being independent, this is very embarrassing.

"Come with Me?" ask Hans.

"Temporary kiss, really!" retia shouted with a disconnected tone at the beginning.

"As you said before, I don't know anything about this world. So, can I follow you for a while, until I can be independent?" Retia resumed her request.

"All right."

Hans agreed to it very easily, as if it was his duty. It even makes Retia doubtful and suspicious. Wondering, what did Hans mean to ask such a thing if he already knew that Retia would come with him. However, there is nothing Retia can neglect other than saying, "Thank you!"

Hans and Retia start down the dirt path to get out of the Reona Area. Just like before, along the way Retia was amazed by the different animals from on Earth.

Some of them are very funny, but many more are terrible.

The rivers are very clear, flowing along with the rhyming of birds that are mutually unpretentious. If only there were no monsters, Retia would most likely declare this place as part of Heaven.

The journey was quite long, from morning to noon. However, all the fatigue that Retia felt immediately paid off, when from a distance had seen a large fortress with dozens of iron-wielding Soldiers guarding on it.

Hans and Retia are dismissed in front of the gate by the Guardians. Hans asks Retia to wait a while, then leaves to leave him to talk to the gatekeeper.

Retia could not stop gaping, her eyes kept spinning exactly like the Village people who had first gone to the Big City. The style of the building there is more or less the same as in the fantasy stories set in the West, which is less just a magnificent palace that stands on a hill.

The streets here are also exactly like the ones in Glagash Village. They cut the stone into squares and then planted it in the ground, very simple.

Hans returns and gives a wooden plaque engraved with the face of a lion and behind it is the name Retia. Hans said that it was a temporary identification to get permission to go to the Land Lord residence and register Retia as one of the citizens of Sorrow.

Retia and Hans enter the City. Retia's steps were immediately greeted by a typical scene of the fantasy world, there were Elf races, Elf races, Dwarves races. There was even a cute girl with Fox ears.

Retia really wants to be close to them, chatting and asking about their daily life and culture, especially to the cute Fox-eared girl. Retia was eager to touch her thick tail that was twitching to and fro. Really want that.

"Well..there are so many people here, is there a celebration today?" retia asked Hans who was walking beside her.

"No, it's usually like this, really," Hans replied.

On the left and right, Retia found many small children to parents who carry vegetables and fruits in a basket-shaped backpack. The firewood seller who carried his wood, and the food merchant who shouted his wares. Truly a busy city when Hans said this place is not the capital.

The thing that actually attracted Retia the most was that the fruits and vegetables sold in this place were completely different from the ones on Earth. Some have similarities, but not their shape.

Bananas that are shaped like oranges, watermelons that spiked like durian, apples that grew elongated. It's a really strange world.

Retia initially suspected that the staple food in this world is wheat, but it turned out to be more inclined towards meat and potatoes, although many are selling bread.

"Sorry, long time ago, from now on you've registered to be a citizen of Sorrow City," hans said while giving a special sealed iron plaque that still looks the same as before with the Lion's head carving and Retia's name on the back.

In addition to the plaque, Hans also provided a backpack and a map of Sorrow's city.

Retia is initially excited by Hans's backpack, thinking it is the same one Hans used to pack the winged Lizard and the unfortunate Bear. However, it turns out that it is just an ordinary backpack that is even far from the standard Retia, but just like before, Retia can only complain in her heart while saying thanks to Hans.

Retia and Hans walked over again. However, this time went straight to Hans residence without stopping or enjoying the scenery of this fantasy world. Retia was very tired, not only the legs, but also the hands that must always carry a pile of books and an invisible pan.

"Welcome, Mr Hans!"

Respectful guards fell on Hans, then immediately opened the gate. Retia had no idea that the Guardian was highly valued in this Kingdom. They were both swords as well as shields guarding this land from monster attacks. It was easy for Hans to get into and fro even his actions were unquestionable, so trusting.

Hans's residence is indeed a little smaller than the Landlord's residence, but it is still stunning with flower gardens and several Maids working in it.

"Brave!" call Hans to the butler, Rolden Agrasia.

"Yes, sir."

Rold ran to Hans from the side of the house. The Old Man's cross-sectional mustache was wobbling, looking like a catfish in a trance.

Hans gave his backpack to Rold.

"Take this to the Butcher and send me to report on the mission" Hans told Rold.

"Is there anything else I can help you with, Sir?" ask Rold.

"Oh, right. Please clean Miss Retia and give her some food."

"Well, I'll ask some Maid to take care of him."

"Good, I leave it to you, I'll go to the hill of Tazzana, don't look for me" Hans went back to leave Retia. Now Hans here is completely different from the bull and the one who beheaded the Bear, as if he had a dual personality.

"Wait? you're going to man—

Retia was pulled by two Maid men and covered her mouth. It looks like a kidnapping, but the real reason is just so that Retia doesn't interfere with their work.

"Already, Miss. Come on, come with us" they said, dragging Retia into the house.
