That night, as the new full moon spread its wings, Hans entered through the window. Just as his feet were stepping on the floor, his eyes opened wide in shock.
"Miss Retia?"
Hans hesitated, there was only a pair of disembodied shoes there. Run around and arrange the books on the bed and then cover them with a blanket, as if someone was sleeping on it.
"Wait a minute!"
The voice sounded like Retia's. No, it really is Retia's voice. Hans now became convinced that the shoe that had been running around was Retia, though he did not know why she had become invisible.
The table drawer was open, a green cloth was thrown by Retia to Hans.
"You wear it too" he ordered.
Hans circulated his gaze, paying attention to every little detail on the thin green cloth that had one blue star engraved with ancient magic symbols on it. Hans was convinced that whatever this thing was, its maker must be Khan.
"What's this?" ask Hans.
Retia was silent for a moment, "What kind of fabric is that? I don't know, I don't know either" he replied. Retia accidentally finds it in an old barn while searching for raw materials for soap that is out of stock, and accidentally finds its use when pressing on an embroidered blue star.
"What... are we going to do something bad?"
Hans again asked, but Retia did not respond. Hans had no choice but to wear the green cloth as Retia wanted.
"Take me down, carry me," he said embarrassedly. Although she was invisible, Retia kept her face hidden with both hands.
Hans sighed, ducked in front of Retia and carried the light body of the girl. Hans felt he was carrying an invisible ghost, as well as Retia, he felt being carried by a ghost out of Kansas City at a speed not less than a car.
The two of them escaped easily past the city fortress and its sleepy guards. The path taken by Retia and Hans is a river path, it's the best way not to get lost. Previously, Hans had already made the boat secretly as requested by Retia, they boarded it to return to the city of Sorrow.
The feeling of being happy to fool the guards made the two not standby. As their boat passed through tree branches embracing the river, they were unaware of the presence of leather shoes hanging in the air without a body.
The shoes belonged to Marthin, who was assigned to report if any residents or workers tried to escape. Marthin used the same green cloth for camouflage, and immediately went to report the situation to Ron who was currently the interim leader of Kansas.
"Mr Ron, do I need to go after them?" marthin asked at the Kansas City Hall office where Ron was taking care of the incoming documents and financial statements.
Ron was silent for a while, playing his beard as he stared out the window at the forest where Retia and Hans had escaped.
"No, we won't be able to stop them because there's Hans. For now we can only send soldiers to track and predict the direction of their destination. I'll send a sealed letter to Mr. Khan, the rest please help" Ron said.
"Good!"
Marthin went to the barracks and began the first military meeting of the Kansas knight regiment.
