Chapter 16

Today Rinjani receives a job washing and ironing at the home of Bu Pomegranate, the richest person in her RT where they live. Attar this time was not taken with him because his two brothers were at home, still in the framework of school holidays.

As usual the woman will check the pocket of clothes or pants, fearing that there are valuable items left behind. After separating the white clothes from the colored ones, Rinjani immediately washed the clothes separately.

"Mr Rinjani, get some rest! Do not force yourself if tired," said Mr. Handoko, the husband of Bu Pomegranate.

"Thank you, sir. I don't feel tired, because I'm used to it" Rinjani replied as soon as she finished drying her white clothes.

The woman always limited herself to hanging out with men, for fear of slander like yesterday-yesterday. In addition, Rinjani also felt uncomfortable with Pak Handoko's gaze towards her since earlier. So, it was best that he quickly finished all the work he was asked to do.

"Mrs Pomegranate has lost her diamond ring. He suspected that Rinjani had taken while washing and ironing at his house earlier," one resident replied.

"Yes, Mr. RT. I can't accept that he actually took the diamond ring my mother-in-law gave me first" Pomegranate continued.

"No, Mr. RT. What I stole, it was a sin" Rinjani argued.
