Ch 24: The Past, the Future

{ At the same time in front of the house Widya }

"I didn't expect Steven to be a 4 Serangkai, call me in the morning and ask to meet" Widya told Ahmad, who was waiting in front of her house.

Ahmad only fell silent with a serious look towards Widya.

"Come in!" widya's orders while opening the gate.

Ahmad then entered and prepared to hear anything from Widya.

The two of them walked towards the garden on the porch of the house, and took a small walk while chatting.

"Sorry Steve, I can't invite you into the house, because all the family except Grandpa is inside" Widya said

"Yes, it's okay. I understand." replied Ahmad.

"Actually, I was surprised when you asked me a few questions about Maria. Maria and I just got 1 week"

"But instead of refusing, you accept my request. Doesn't that mean you know a thing or two even some of his past"

Ahmad's words made Widya stop and looked at Ahmad seriously. Then, Widya asked Ahmad to sit on a bench in the middle of the park.

"Seeing from your reaction, you seem to know some things about Maria's past" Ahmad said

"What you're doing here, it's past Steve's privacy"

Widya's words slapped Ahmad hard and made him aware if what he did and forced was not right.

"But seeing how attentive you were to Maria at school, I agreed and accepted your request" Widya replied firmly and lethargic simultaneously.

"The fact that I heard him call you by the name of Ahmad, and you didn't protest that was enough for me" Widya said

Ahmad also felt unconscious, if Maria had been calling his name with Ahmad instead of Steven.

"The past, it wasn't a comfortable thing to talk about, but I won't go into detail about what that was. I hope you are ready" Widya said.

Ahmad nodded in agreement.

"Mary is a woman who grows strong from childhood. He survives an environment that is arguably not good, but it does not make him desperate and sure if there will be a good and happy ending for him" Widya said while looking up at the sky.

"He kept trying and studying hard, until one of his dreams came true. But everything changed when it happened."

"That incident?" ahmad asked increasingly curious.

"The events that took everything from him. The incident that once again changed his view of the world." replied Widya who was still staring at the sky.

"However, God still protects and accompanies him to stay strong through all obstacles. His family's heart was touched by God and changed in favor of Mary. Not only that, God gave him one precious friend who was in times of trouble or pleasure"

"But still, the demons were not happy to see Maria wake up from the slump and try to bring her down again. They once again snatched away everything on Maria's side" Widya began to shed tears.

"Not stopping there, Mary who was in a slump was successfully achieved by someone. He began to improve a little and again, the one who helped him was the one who betrayed him." Widya's cheeks were flooded with tears and crying in front of Ahmad.

"I don't know how she got through it" Widya tried not to keep crying and patted her chest.

Ahmad simply fell silent and tried his best to calm Widya down.

It seemed Grandfather was watching the two of them from within. It seems like Grandpa knows what they're talking about.

After a few minutes, Widya managed to calm herself down and resumed the conversation.

"If you are not able to, you should stop Wid" pinta Ahmad softly.

"I'm sorry Steve. I have no right to tell you in detail about Maria" Widya said.

"If you really like it" Widya's words made Ahmad look at Widya

"You have to ask him directly" Widya added.

Ahmad took a long breath.

"You have a heavy past yes Mar" murmured Ahmad looking up at the sky.
