Matchmaking Bond

Matchmaking Bond
The deepest request!

Dave sat alone in the dark and there was only enough lighting in the little chapel in the hospital. PAra doctors and nurses in the intensive room only allowed them to enter to see Fiona's pale and weak little face. If Dave could go to the bar, he'd spend a bottle full of alcohol there. Seeing Fiona lying weakly helpless, made Dave very shaken. Fiona is connected to at least six monitoring machines with a needle in the arm that supplies nutrients and narcotics as a pain reliever.

There's a hose coming out of his side to get fluid out of his lungs. Maybe it was also the tube used to develop Fiona's lungs. Fiona had never been so badly injured in her entire life. Fiona looked very fragile, helpless and lonely. His dark eyes closed. There's a dark circle underneath. As Fiona breathes in, Dave can hear the hoarse voice of fluid in the girl's chest. Fiona's lips are blue. The girl seemed to have died.

Fiona's tiny hands touched with Dave's and Dave's big hands last night when she was about to go to the office. Dave already has a bad premonition that will befall Fiona. The girl yesterday appeared very cheerful as she waved at Dave's car which had already left to go to the office. Fiona's words saying that the girl loved her, echoed in Dave's head. Dave closed his eyes and shuddered. If Fiona doesn't survive, the girl's memory of Dave is a new taste of the girl's mind a day.

I should have said that I loved her from the first moment I fell in love, thought Dave who was furious with his own behavior. The prestige made him procrastinate to express his feelings towards the girl. During their marriage, Dave always hurts Fiona with the divorce papers and Lana's presence which makes the girl jealous. Dave tried to remember how the girl smiled at him, opened her lips when kissed and answered Dave's passion with equal passion!

It flashed old wise words in his mind. Be careful what you wish for; you can get it. He sees Fiona's tiny, immobile body and sees the end of everything he loves.

The noise caught his attention. Tommy is back. Tommy was sitting on a long bench with her, looking very uncomfortable.

"God doesn't like me" Tommy told Dave, sighing loudly as he looked around.

"Maybe I brought something bad to Fiona just by getting close to the chapel!"

"God doesn't take revenge," said Dave heavily. "Usually God gives us more leeway than we deserve."

"We shouldn't both be close at all to Fiona. The girl was a victim because of us. He's been targeted by people who have grudges against us!" tommy Sahut.

"There's nothing we can do with this reality, Tom. Two days ago, we finally found out how we felt. We love each other, Tommy. Can you imagine how broken my heart was to see my beloved wife in the room with the help of tools to sustain her life?" said Dave hoarse. Dave looked very messy and miserable.

"I get. I used to be a man full of revenge against life. I blame the unfair life that happened to me until I met Fiona. She was the first woman in years, who looked at me and did not see a man full of vengeance and sin. He's got a weird way of making you feel important, needed, useful. He made me happy just by watching him smile at me." Tommy told Dave.

Dave hates to hear comments from rival men.

"He always was. No matter how bad things were, he could always smile." Dave commented after a minute had passed.

"He made me think I could fit in here, if I tried. All my life I've never thought of settling down somewhere, until now!" tommy Sahut.

"Thank you for accompanying me here. Fiona would be so happy to know that you're here for her too!"

"I'm willing to give anything to turn back the clock and fix everything. Why did happiness only happen one day for the two of us? This is so unfair!"

"Not only you, we all Fiona survived this incident and returned to good health and normalcy. All we can do now is pray to God and wish Fiona all the best." said Tommy.

Two men who cared deeply for the girl who brought joy to their lives were sitting in a small chapel and begging God to punish them alone and plead to save the life of an existing girl in their hearts.

Dave felt more comfortable with his best friend there. He felt he would not be able to if only he was in the hospital. It's getting late, but Dave doesn't want to leave the hospital at all. Tommy decides to walk into the cafeteria at the hospital and buy them plenty of food and coffee.

Dave had already returned and was sitting in the waiting room in front of the intensive care room. All the curtains that cover the room are closed by the nurse who is on duty inside so that Dave cannot see the tiny face of his beloved wife. Soon, Tommy arrives and brings food and coffee to Dave.

"I have no appetite. Thank you for buying it!"

"Dave, if you don't eat, you'll also get sick. What if Fiona needs you but you get sick too!" said Tommy was trying to resuscitate his best friend.

Dave thought there was a point Tommy said as well. The collection of food purchased by Tommy along with water and coffee. He ate the food with coercion because Dave really did not have the appetite to eat. His heart and mind were fixed on Fiona. He was very worried about Fiona. How could he eat when his wife lay fragile and unconscious!

"Thank you for the food and drink. You yourself must eat too. After eating, go back home. Tomorrow please help me get to work and please find the son of a bitch who stabbed my wife. Try to catch him. I'll pay anything to catch that guy!" dave said full of emotion.

"That was my plan. I'll be back home after this. I've been looking for CCTV footage that was on campus with my friend who was a cop. He took it and investigated it. Tomorrow I'm going to the office to handle your work as well. You calm down here. Let me know if there's a change in Fiona's condition!"

"I'll let you know as soon as I can if there's any change with Fiona. If my wife survives, I should also find a housekeeper to help and accompany her!"

"I'll help you. You just calm down! Just focus on the development of Fiona's health!"

Tommy and Dave were silent for a while to eat. After eating, Dave drove Tommy to his car. Arriving in the car, Tommy, who was forgetful, gives Dave a sleeping bag and pillow, so Dave can sleep in front of the room comfortably. After that Tommy said goodbye to Dave and Dave back in front of the intensive care room to wait for the development of his wife's condition.

Her heart was so torn and sore that she remembered Fiona's last condition. Dave unceasingly begs God for Fiona.
