...43...
The rustling sound of the wind sweeping through the leaves was clearly heard as Caca waited for Nolan's arrival in this place. This time, Caca invited Nolan to meet in a park beside the school that had never been visited by students because they thought it was less interesting. In fact, if seen and felt longer, this place is so shady, cool, and soothing because planted with tall and large trees that are very shady are also rich in oxygen.
Caca planned to tell Nolan the truth and end all the theatrics he performed, then return all the money given by Hendra because he felt he did not deserve it. Caca just had to convince himself if he did all that selflessly.
Indeed the initial goal is for the sake of money, but after the feeling is present all feel different. He just doesn't want everything getting late and drifting further and further away. He didn't want Nolan to be disappointed in him, and he wanted it all to be over before the graduation exam was conducted.
Caca looked up, trying to calm himself down before meeting and talking to Nolan. He can no longer hope for anything, including Nolan's feelings for him. In addition, early in the morning he got a short message from Hendra about the man's thanks because Caca had managed to get Nolan back to him. However, Caca asked to meet to say if Caca should immediately step down, quit the scenario of being a student of Kemala High School, return the money, and, then remove the trail by finding other jobs outside the city to avoid Nolan, if possible. Hendra agreed, but I don't know, it'll work or it won't. But Caca will try it first.
But on the other hand, Nolan who saw Caca sitting alone among the sun that broke through from the trees, looks so beautiful and very amazing in the eyes of Nolan.
Peace with the father made Nolan's mood very good today. His relationship with the father warmed up again, and his feelings for Caca were expressed. Plus there was no further rejection from Caca, making Nolan's heart even more relieved.
With no sound at all, Nolan took a seat beside Caca and managed to shock the girl to the point of barely jumping down from the long wooden chair they were now sitting on.
“Gosh! You surprised me, Zero. Why not say hello or what is a cake?!” cerocos Caca did not accept because of the shock that almost made him dislodged the heart.
Nolan laughed with his shoulders up and down hearing Caca's loud voice scold him. He likes Caca like this. Not spared from the sound of the girl's cry, Nolan glanced at the neck that he had last night fitted a necclase. Still there, it still hangs pretty on Caca's neck that level and smooth.
“You are the one who mostly daydream.” said Nolan relaxed, but the dominance of the voice did not want to sometimes, sound so clear. Nolan laughed, and Caca did not get tired of paying attention. Of the many youths, why did his heart feel so heavy to take this young man off? Even forgetting Arkan alone, not to the point of having to cry bloodily because of despair. “What did you ask me to come here?”
Ah yes, Caca remembered what his purpose was to get Nolan to meet here. Not even fluttering and admiring this young man.
“That's, there's one thing I want to tell you, Zero.”
“What's more,” answered Nolan lazily. Must not be far from the gift he gave last night, right? So thought Nolan.
“But promise first, if you want to receive reality—”
“You rejected me huh?” guess Nolan without further ado. Caca was too circling around and making her dizzy.
Caca. He tried once again to remove the Nolan-given necclase from his neck. But, once again Nolan held him back.
“Nevent to be removed. If you do not want to accept my feelings, you can simply consider the necklace as a sign of our friendship.” said Nolan, flat but completely does not show any emotion from the look in his eyes.
The problem is more than that. But Caca is hard pressed to say and is really afraid Nolan is disappointed in him.
“I really want to give that to you, apart from the expression of my feelings last night.” continued Nolan a little sad. “Sorry if I make you uncomfortable around me.”
Caca took his eyes off Nolan. He looked down, then smiled smirkily.
“There is one thing I want to tell you, and it will definitely make you turn resentful and disappointed in me, Zero.”
Nolan stared at Caca. He was even eager to dive into the contents of Caca's head that he could not guess at the moment. Then, with a heavy breath and a soft back gaze, Nolan said. “Tell me, I won't mind anything if you just think of me as a friend.”
“Au—”
Nolan reached into the pocket of her cream-colored pants and pulled out the phone from there. Caca could see the Home name appear on Nolan's phone screen. Then Nolan stood up and said goodbye to take a short call, then moved away from Caca.
But what Caca saw next was, a tremendous panic on Nolan's face. However, the young man still took the time to walk up to him, then say goodbye to Caca.
“What's up?”
“Papa in hospital. I have to get there now.”
“Cute!”
Caca's voice caused Nolan to fall, but after that his head nodded and took another step to leave the school immediately to go to the hospital.
Nolan's motor wheel rattled the streets of the capital, drawing the attention of all eyes looking. There was a debate for Caca's permission, but Nolan insisted and eventually the school let Caca come with Nolan.
Upon arriving, Caca chased after Nolan's half-running steps towards the information table to inquire about the whereabouts of the father. Once informed if his papa in care in the ICU room, Nolan's body like decay. He lost all the stubbornness and assertiveness that had been in his personality.
The emergency room was already quiet, but visitors were still prohibited from making contact with patients.
Nolan stared at the body of his father who was lying on a hospital bed and many embedded medical tools familiar—same as he had seen when keeping his mother first—from behind the stretch of glass that be the separator between his treated papa room and the waiting room.
Caca's bead can capture the sadness as well as the great regret from Nolan's eyes. He ventured to grab Nolan's shoulder and rubbed it gently.
“Your father is a good man. She will definitely be fine and be back with you soon.”
Nolan silently did not respond to Caca for a while. He recalled his quarrels with his father.
“I'm afraid, what papa once said will be real.”
Caca looked at Nolan with a deep and telisik gaze.
“What did your father ever say?”
Nolan smiled bitterly, then lowered his head to look at the pair of shoes he always wore, shoes that became his birthday gift, two years ago.
“Papa once said, if he will leave after getting sorry from me.” Nolan paused, he took a breath that felt so heavy and excruciating. “Should have, I know myself. It shouldn't be Papa who's expecting my forgiveness. But I should be begging him for forgiveness.”
Caca who heard that also felt his heart throbbing pain. He could feel how Nolan was feeling right now. He couldn't imagine Nolan knowing what he had been hiding with Hendra for the past few months.
“Your father will be fine.”
Nolan nodded. He also hopes so, the same as Caca's speech. His papa will soon recover and hug him again.
“Now, what should I do, Ca?”
Ting!
Nolan's phone clinks loaded with an incoming message, but he ignored it for now. He just wanted to see his papa back home in good health. []
