AT the third hour, though, all students in my class are required to enter the chemical laboratory because today we will conduct a practicum about the reaction rate of – concentration – chemistry by using tools and materials that the school has provided in the laboratory. From what I see, it seems that all – students including me – are quite enthusiastic to follow the practicum this time. The atmosphere is also more conducive considering we are very focused on listening to the direction of Mr. Jafar who is trying to give us enlightenment.
Pak Jafar does not need too much intro when conveying the intent and purpose we need to learn the reaction rate – chemical concentration –. He prefers to teach us slowly while directing his students to perform the steps of the workings of this practicum in sequence. Sometimes he gives an explanation of what we need to pay attention to so that our experiment in proving the reaction rate of – concentration – this chemical is successful.
“Now insert magnesium tape into each tube.” exclamation pack Jafar, want my group and several other groups to put two sheets of tape measuring 2cm into each tube containing a solution of HCl 1M and HCl 2M as much as 5ml. “Try to observe the abundance of gas bubbles and time until the magnesium band is exhausted.”
All students and students in this room focus on their work. In my own group, I carried out a mandate to record all the results of the effects of solution concentration, the influence of the area of opening, the influence of temperature, and the influence of the catalyst on the reaction rate as a material to make a table of observations. Therefore, I must not miss a single moment so that the observation notes from my group become perfect.
“Gas bubbles produced by 2M more HCl solution than HCl 1M.” said Fira, one of my group friends.
“The time is also not too long, only seventy-eight sekon.” said Rama, tasked to observe the reaction time with the help of a sukat hour in his salary.
“That means the greater the molarity or concentration of a substance, the greater the number of particles. This also causes the possibility of collisions between particles is greater so that it increases the reaction rate.” added Zeev without pause when he expressed his opinion.
“Huh? How was it?” I asked, in a hurry to pick up the pen so that I accidentally dropped the pen in the corner of the table to become hunched straight into the center of earth's gravity.
Amazingly, one of my hands had a very good reflex motion so I managed to catch the tiny cylindrical object before landing on the cold tile. And even more amazing Zeev's arm also has a similar reflex motion so that in the end our arm accidentally touched causing a heart reaction rate that is quite strange but feels familiar in my mind. Dear. Zeev quickly retracted his arm as if the small touch had been a big mistake.
I realized very well that my situation did not support me to feel disappointed so that my lips prefer to say “The greater the morality or concentration of a substance, then..” while trying to record all Zeev's speech despite the brain, lips, and fingers are quite tired in understanding his words.
“Molarity, Lunar! Not morality!” grunts Rama, making a pen that I hold automatically makes a rough stroke to cross out the word morality that targets in my notebook, replacing it with the right word – molarity.
“Lo catet aja the speed of gas bubbles, the number of gas bubbles, the same reaction time. Later the discussion is the same conclusion I helped in class.” Zeev's advice, making me breathe a little relieved because Zeev tried to understand my ability to listen and understand every word that came out of his lips.
Unlike the material about the cell organelles of living things that I managed to memorize to posterity because it had appeared in the grid of biological tests that I had experienced in the future. But, for chemistry subjects it turns out I still have difficulty in digesting all kinds of information I receive. Despite all the events and materials in the chemistry package book I have ever absorbed and studied, but chemistry seems to remain one of the subjects that I always hate.
I personally don't mind the sudden delay we have to make to follow Zeev's schedule, remembering for me at any time it would feel just as much fun as Zeev who guided me directly in private and with four eyes as it is today. Despite the fact that Zeev only paid attention to me for the sake of group duty, the garden in my heart was so simple that it had been successfully made to bloom by him.
“So, in conclusion: one, the greater the morality or concentration of the substance, the faster the reaction rate. Two, The more surface area of the substance, the faster the reaction rate will be. Three, the addition of a catalyst can speed up the reaction rate.” said Zeev slowly by slipping a pause at each conclusion point that he described, Zeev said slowly, waiting for the stroke of my hand to reach a point before he finally spoke to the next point.
“Try to see again, deh!” I asked Zeev to re-scan my most presentable work in our group, handing over my notebook for Zeev to scan.
Zeev's eyes focused on each stroke of my hand. His face looked solemn as well as soothing on my pair of neutrals. Somehow Zeev's good looks always increased when he was focused with the most serious gaze like this. Oh, errata. Actually Zeev is also no less charming when he makes a speech or even narrates to lead his friends in solving problems.
“This is okay, really! Later if typed you make the observations in the form of a table only to be easier to read.” proposed Zeev who immediately get approval from me.
“OK, later if it is done I send the file to lo.” I accept the mandate that Zeev pinned to me. I can't let Zeev down.
In the middle of my discussion with Zeev, suddenly a girl with lighter skin than me and Zeev approached us while carrying his pink-coated book, interrupting my quality time with Zeev by throwing a pleasantry “Zeev? Can you teach me about number three, right? I don't understand.”
“Mana? Try me to see?” timpal Zeev, it was as easy as he turned away from my sight to simply meet the girl's expectations.
Zeev now seems serious about teaching the girl on his right to solve one of the math problems. Even he or the girl in white seems not aware of me around them. Suddenly I felt alien and alone in this room full of human beings. Not because Zeev was teaching the girl intensely without poking me. But because I forgot that Zeev was always kind and friendly to everyone, including to a beautiful girl like him.
I thought my heart was trained enough to see Zeev get dozens of statements about the presence of love from schoolgirls. Getting Zeev to receive attention and gifts on Valentines Day – Valintine – is not a taboo for me. However, just this time I found Zeev who gave feedback by being enveloped in a pink atmosphere with different vibrations than usual. When usually my conscience always feels enough to be a loyal fan of Zeev's secret. However, this time my conscience is greedy for wanting to have a full Zeev.
I'm jealous of something that's definitely not mine.
