Budget Genius!

Is that genius?

Most people would think of people with a huge amount of talent - young people, who, though younger, often beat their seniors and learn things at a surprising speed!

But it's not just talent that makes a genius.

Often they also have a keen mind and intelligence that sets them apart from their peers!

Right now, Hayate was having dinner at the Ichiraku Ramen with one of those geniuses.

His name is Yugao Uzuki, he joined Anbu when he was only in his childhood, then trained kenjutsu under Hayate, and also his lover.

"Hey, I hear you're teaching a bad boy now?"

"Well, at first I just wanted to teach him the basics, but honestly watching him practice was fun, so I kept teaching him."

"Hooo, so she must be special if she catches your attention, right?"

"Koff, well it's hard to say. His talent is the definition of mediocre, not even comparable to you. So he's not really a genius and his personality is kind of rotten..."

"Rubby?"

"Koff, he is very shameless and has a rude attitude. He really knows how to make other people nervous..."

"Why did you teach him?"

"Hmm, the problem is, despite his mediocre talent, his progress is still surprising for a child his age ... I think the best way to explain why is because of his mindset. When it comes to training, he somehow gets serious and shows some kind of professionalism. What I mean is, that he focuses on mastering the basics rather than trying to jump straight into striking techniques and he also trains efficiently: He doesn't practice too much where it hurts. But most importantly, his standards in terms of strength were quite high..."

"How's what?"

"Koff, most would consider Chunin relatively strong while Jonin would be something unexpected, elite, right? Well, I can see it in his gaze, that what he considers to be powerful, even surpassing the level of Anbu!"

"Ohh, so he's a dreamer? Well, that must be good, because if your expectations are not high, no matter how unachievable it is, this will only limit one thing. So shooting stars is a good habit."

"Koff, I agree. That's why it's so nice to see him grow. Someone who was mediocre, but still had a staggering growth speed similar to a genius - a budget genius."

"Budget genius? Geez, sometimes you come up with a really weird idea, well that's the part I like about you."

He showed me the one-handed sword style because of my injuries.

I've understood most of the basics in terms of kenjutsu, in part because his teaching style is more or less learning while doing.

That means a lot of debate - A LOT.

I don't mind because it's the best way to get a feeling about what you're supposed to be doing.

So I can proudly say that I am already a swordsman!

But it was only for pure kenjutsu without using chakra.

He told me starting next week he would teach me how to apply chakra into kenjutsu.

To be honest, I think he somehow forgot that he just wanted to teach me the basics.

In addition to the practice of kenjutsu, I continued to practice my chakra manipulation - I even started trying Tree Climbing Exercises...

When talking about acceleration techniques...I have to put it off for now because I already have a full training regimen and after using the chakra for Tree Climbing Practice, I just don't have enough chakra to do it.

But overall it went well.

For smooth!

The wise man once said that if life seems peaceful Truck-kun will come to pick you up when you least expect it!

Thankfully, there are no trucks in the world...

By the way, somehow I feel like I've forgotten something all along...

At the park where Eiji and Tenten are training.

There, an enraged Tenten throws a barrage of weapons at the training doll that all of Eiji's faces are drawn on.

"I can't believe he forgot me ..."
