"It will soon rain, so you can get soaked.." - Hiruzen.
Eiji stared briefly at Hiruzen before returning his gaze to the grave: "I don't really hate the rain, after all if you come here to comfort me, you don't have to worry. I think I can hold my emotions." Check it out enough not to do anything brain-deadening."
"Hmm, actually I didn't come here to comfort you. I just wanted to tell you something Hayate said to me not long ago when he nominated you for the Chunin exam." - he stopped there recalling that memory.
After a while, he formed a smile and continued: "He told me that the thing he is most proud of is not your Kenjutsu talent or your efficiency in your training, but you're just a good person."
"Good man?" - Eiji looked at her confusedly.
Of course Eiji wasn't evil or anything, but he never considered himself good.
In his eyes, he was neutral.
When Hiruzen saw Eiji's unconvinced gaze, he began to laugh out loud: "HAHAHA...I also asked her what she meant by that, so Hayate explained: You are not someone who is trying to change the world or achieve world peace or anything like that. You just take care of yourself and your loved ones and if they are safe it is enough for you to be happy. You see, people who try to change the world for the better, are often troublemakers. How many people have to die before you can reach your peace? Once you have achieved your goals, how can you be sure that you are not a criminal in the eyes of others, who will try to bring justice to you? That's why it's his wish, that you'll continue to be a good person."
"PFFF HAHAHA...are you senile or something like old man? Well, Hayate-sensei sometimes says such cheap things..."
Eiji continued to laugh, while Hiruzen watched him with a fatherly smile.
After Eiji's laughter subsided, Hiruzen walked towards the lunchbox and started eating.
"Feel your mother really good.especially the way she prepares rice..."
"It doesn't belong to my mother, it's Tenten's. But yes, he's really improved...I still remember how I almost died when he started cooking. I had to ditch, so he couldn't force me to eat." That abomination."
"HAHAHA. Can you tell me more funny things from your time at the academy?"
Somehow, Hiruzen's cheerful vibe involuntarily affected Eiji, so he started talking and time passed.
At one point, Konohamaru came here looking for Hiruzen and scolded him for waiting for hours.
"Sorry, I think I should go. I made my beloved grandson wait."
Hiruzen waved as he started to leave with Konohamaru.
Eiji watched them leave: Konohamaru told Hiruzen something excitedly while pulling his sleeve, while Hiruzen laughed out loud.
'But you and Hayate-sensei are wrong about one thing... I'm actually a donkey, not a good person. I tried to save Hayate-sensei while ignoring others thinking about how they should die and how I shouldn't change things. I guess I subconsciously still think of people as characters rather than as people who actually live with real feelings. If I have future knowledge and the possibility of saving people, don't I at least have the responsibility to at least try to save as many as possible?'
Seeing how Konohamaru and Hiruzen left happily, Eiji began to realize that he would miss Hiruzen if he died.
He now had a new goal: save the old man!
Anko is currently devouring a large amount of Dango at the Dango Konoha store.
Finally, her role in the Chunin exam was completed and she was able to relax.
For him, the exam time felt much longer than it actually was.
So many things happened there: he met Orochimaru and fought him, several Konoha shinobi were found dead, but most importantly he was always unlucky to meet the same annoying boy!
When he recalled this boy, Anko's face turned sour and he started devouring Dango faster.
The humiliation he experienced because of him, was unthinkable.
'At least I don't need to see her annoying face anymore! And in the future when I somehow end up on the same mission as him, I will just change his mission!!'
Feeling better after cheering himself on, he happily ordered more Dango.
'Haaa, what a pleasure...Dango and not to worry...'
He closed his eyes as he was satisfied eating until he was full, he was currently very happy.
"Jo, what's wrong, Anko? It just so happened to meet you here, you remember that you promised me that you would return the favor?"
