Mom, Why Am I Different?
Chapter 23

"You want to come here!" sarah snapped when she saw me and Luna came to her house.

"Sorry Mom, I'm just here to meet Niken and Mas Niko to say my condolences" I replied, holding Luna's hand.

"All right, tell me you want to laugh at our distress, right?" said Sarah while leaving her waist.

"Mother, whose grandmother is this?" asked Luna while looking at me.

"He is Grandma Sarah" I replied with a smile to Luna.

"That means Grandma is my Grandma, Ma'am" Luna said as she stared at Sarah's hateful face.

I just nodded while smiling at Luna. Slowly Luna began to release my handrails and walked towards Sarah to kiss her hand. However, Sarah violently hit my daughter's hand so hard that she cried out in pain.

"Mother may hate me even insulting me, but I can't accept that Mother treats Luna harshly, let alone that she is Mother's biological granddaughter!" I snapped while hugging Luna who was crying.

"Good-grandson? Since when do I recognize this deaf child as my Grandchild" Sarah said with a derogatory look.

"Why Grandma hates me, I'm healed and I can hear everything Grandma said, too" Luna replied in tears.

"You think I care, uh deaf kid, whenever I won't admit you as my granddaughter!" snapped Sarah while leaving her waist.

"Oh Allah it turns out that the hatred of my former Mother-in-law has been very ingrained, even Luna who does not know anything goes along with her," my inner heart while continuing to look at Sarah's face full of hatred.

"Luna let's go home, son," asked me while holding Luna.

"But Ma'am, Luna hasn't met Dad yet" Luna replied while looking sad for failing to meet Niko.

"Now Dad's busy so he can't see us, I'm sure if you're not busy he'll meet us and play with Luna," my shirt rubbed his tears that trickled down his chubby cheeks.

Slowly we began to leave the mansion. It was clear that Luna was very disappointed and sad because she could not meet her father. Many times he turned towards the door of the mansion like hoping that the father would come out to meet him.

"Luna, let's go up Honey," I asked Luna who was still standing while looking at Niko's house.

Along the way Luna just silently stared at the car window. Her happy and cheerful face was no longer visible to her. Actually there is a sense of regret in me for inviting him to come to that house.

"I'm sorry Mom, son, I hope you can have a better life than Mom," I thought as I turned to Luna who was staring at the window.

After arriving home, I immediately asked Luna to take a shower and immediately rest. The trip from the village to Niko's house did take all day, so I'm sure Luna must have been very exhausted. After cleaning up, eating and putting Luna to sleep I immediately opened my laptop to start writing down all the bitter memories I had.

"How are you doing?" niko asked the wife who had just arrived home.

"I'm fine Mas" replied Niken with a smile.

"Thank God, it's better now that you go in and rest" Niko said as she walked out leaving Niken and Sarah.

"Where are you going, sorry Niken just got home from the hospital!" sarah shouted as she saw the son walking towards her car.

Niko did not answer Sarah's question, she continued walking and left the house. This made Niken very upset with her husband. 

"Mama saw for yourself 'Mas Niko just stayed away from me, '" Niken told Sarah.

"Now that you blame Mama, all this Mama did to save you as long as you know this catastrophe started from your own stupidity" Sarah replied as she walked towards her room.

Niken just silently heard the words of the in-laws. She knew if this was indeed her fault, but was there no other way but to pretend a miscarriage. Anger and annoyance were clearly visible on Niken's face. 

"Dad!" luna replied as she ran up to him.

"Where's Mom?" niko asked while holding 6-year-old Luna.

"Mother is serving some guests who want to eat, Father yesterday Luna with Mother playing at home, but we were expelled with Grandma Sarah," Luna told Niko who had just arrived.

"What did Sarah say to Luna?" asked Niko curiously.

Luna began to tell what she had heard at her father's house. Hearing what his daughter told him, Niko immediately asked the princess to enter the house. Without further ado, Niko got into her car to get home.

"Luna!" I shouted while calling out Luna's name.

"Yes ma'am" he replied as he walked towards me.

"So what did you tell Dad," I asked.

"Luna was just telling me about what Grandma Sarah said back then," Luna replied innocently.

"Oh Allah, I'm sure Niko must be angry with Ms. Sarah" I thought as I rubbed my little daughter's hair.

"Is Luna wrong, Mom?" ask Luna who surprised me.

"Darling please take your phone in the room, yes" I ordered with a smile.

After Luna gave me my phone, I immediately contacted Niko who I thought was still on the way. However, many times I tried to contact him still there was no answer from him. Even the short message I sent him was not read at all.

"Why doesn't he pick up my phone," my inner being continued to hold my phone.

"Mama! Ma," shouted Niko as she entered the house.

"You think this house is a forest so you can shout as you please!" snapped Sarah who was in the family room with Niken.

"Is it true that Mama kicked Rani and Luna out when they came to this house?" niko asked in a very upset manner.

"Oh so that trashy woman has told you," Sarah replied as she continued to stare at the television.

"Mama knows if Luna is Niko's flesh and blood, why Mama would insult her!" niko snapped while standing before Sarah.

"Don't just accuse you, who insulted her Mama spoke for who she is" Sarah replied with a cynical smile.

"But not having to say if she is deaf, do you have no conscience to hurt your own granddaughter" Niko said, staring intently at Sarah.

"Mama is not a liar, if you are deaf, you are deaf" Sarah replied, throwing her face away.

"What is this Mas, why did Rani come here?" niken asked as if he did not know what was going on in the house.

Niko did not answer Niken's question, she just glanced at his wife and directly walked towards the room. The curious Niken immediately chased after Niko and left Sarah in the living room. 

"Why are you quiet, am I wrong with you?" niken asked as she walked over to her husband.
