Being the Perfect Man

“Allah says in Surah At-Tin verse four which reads

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ

Which means ‘Really, We have created man in the best of form' so if we say 'Oh Allah, I am not tall, while he is my high friend. Oh my God, I'm black, my friend is pure white. Oh my God, how am I like this? Too busy complaining about my word like this? How did he do that' when Allah said yes in the verse? The present is the gift of God, which is now in us the creation of God, and God created us to the best of our ability. There is no such thing as 'Failed product' because of what? Who created us is God, the most perfect substance that has no gap”

Then it came to my mind about people who have physical limitations, why did God create a physically imperfect human being? Then I went back to listening to what Ustadz Yusuf was talking about someone who was perfect in the eyes of God.

This time I was visiting a study in the area near my mother's house located in Bintaro. A routine study for teenagers is held every Wednesday night. The concept of the study is like a discussion and can ask each other questions and who can answer are welcome to share their knowledge.

“If a teenager now, often Insecure yes his name? Often feel less like he is okay compared to others. Ustadz wants to ask, what is the perfect man in your eyes?"

Then a friend of mine raised his hand and spoke of the criteria of a perfect man according to him.

“If physical, surely man always feels less with what is in him. He will feel like he is no better than anyone else. No one is perfect physically. But there is perfect morals and can make his physical becomes perfect. Because one way to become a Kamil Man is by giving thanks and practicing His asthma God. And, to become a perfect human being, we can emulate a person who is a perfect human being and we know, our role model Prophet SAW is a Kamil Man, he said, man whom God sent to be a mercy to all nature. Please correct it Ustadz”

“Betul Ikhsan, we must imitate the attitude of the Prophet to become a perfect human being. We must not only improve the physical to appear perfect in the eyes of others, but we must correct the moral to look perfect in the eyes of God. Allah sent Prophet Muhammad SAW to be Rahmatan Lil’alamin, to be a role model for people throughout nature. And we, as his people, should be guided by him. Imitate His character, practice His circumcision, because later in the Hereafter we will get His intercession”

And at the end of the study, Ustadz Yusuf gave an opportunity to ask the pilgrims’ah study tonight. At first I wanted to ask, but one of my friends first raised his voice and the question already represented my confusion.

“You ask what Eve?” Ustadz Yusuf.

“Ustadz, justadz said there is no such thing as a failed product? If, for example, there are people with disabilities, whose legs or hands are just one, who can't talk, who can't see, what is it categorized as? Humans are not perfect either?” Said Eve and was immediately answered by Kafi.

“Neng Eve, Try to open Al Qur’an surah Al Insan verses 1 to 3” each person who follows the study here is required to bring their own Al Qur’an so that it is easy to clarify the verse mentioned by ustadz.

“Didn't it ever come to man a time from time, which when it was not yet something that can be called? Verily, We have created man from a mixed drop of semen which We intend to test him (by command and prohibition), therefore We make him hear and see. Truly, We have shown him the straight path; some are grateful and some are kufur.”

“A imperfectly created man can be a gift from God, it can also be a form of trial. God created his being and gave him trials for himself or for others around him. From there, from every trial, God will see who is grateful and who is infuriated. If the person is given good physical health but he is not grateful then he is a kufr person. Similarly, if the person who has physical limitations and he complains a lot, he is also a kufr person. Because God judges perfect or not man is from his morals not just from his physical. And, if you ask the Disability person how? Yes, same. What is in our bodies is a gift from God. Because God created us with the best of form. Please correct it Ustadz”

“Yes true Kafi, Allah also said in Surah Al Mulk verse 2 which means ’Yang created death and life, to test you, who among you is better at charity. And He is Almighty, Most Forgiving, ' Allah will test man with many things between death, is there any family that is patient over misfortune in the face of loss. When a baby is born with a state of 'Disability' then it becomes a test not only for the Baby, but for his parents, can they be patient with what happens to his child? Another story, there is a rich person with a treasure, that person is precisely God tested with his wealth, sincerely or not he set aside his wealth to pledge and give alms every day? So, being a Kamil Man or a perfect human being is not just we see the physical. We make our physical correction less, but forget to correct our vile nature, still far from God. Nauzubillah min dzalik”

And that night, after the study is over I'm going home with my friend Eve her name. He happens to be a friend whose house is in my direction. She is a student majoring in Sharia Economics at one of the private universities in Jakarta as well. The distance of the mosque and my house is quite close so it can still be reached on foot.

“Kak Ustadz Kafi, go home with dong” Said Eve when Kafi came out of the Mosque.

“Hah? Very true. Haura scared nih”

“Lah? How am I?” Oh yeah, forgot I gave you information about my full identity. My name is Xaviera Haura Nasyifa. If at home, my neighbors and small friends call me by the name “Haura” if on campus friends prefer to call “Xaviera” so.

“Yes, you said that you were afraid of” You could sell my name in front of Kafi. I was embarrassed and walked alone.

While walking while berating Eve in the heart, suddenly Kafi's voice appeared next to me and spoke “If you want to be together, then, I walk in front of ya Dek” He then directly walk in front of me and I stop in place.

“Eh Haura, how does it feel in the same greeting Ustadz Kafi?” suddenly Eve was next to me and woke me frozen in place.

“Astagfirullah” I immediately stroked the chest and back again running.

“Hauraa, wait for me” I keep going while Eve who managed to equalize her steps with my steps unceasingly asked “You are groggy ya in greeting Kak Ustadz Kafi”

“Typically aja” I said.

“Say you ngefans with him? Kok regular aj”

“Ya ga ngefans really. Just amazed. Eve Lagian. Kafi was our school year in elementary school. You are severe aja”

“Inget ya Haura, the characteristics of the hypocrite there are three. If he talks, he lies. You're not a hypocrite, are you?”

And thank God, I could not answer Eve's words. I've reached my house.

“Even, I've been there. I'm going straight in yes, Assalamualaikum”

I left Eve with all her prejudices.

After the incident with Eve, that night there was a prayer that I asked for.

“Yes Allah, please let this heart affair be a secret that I tell you enough and with humans who already know. No more to others who have no right to know. O Allah, allow me to remain silent in a love that I hope is lawful. Control myself to remain an ordinary human being who does not look at love excessively. And guard him from all kinds of worldly temptations. Give him every good step, and may what he does today be a reward that will bring him to His heaven God”
