I entered the company building that I have occupied for one year. It turns out time passes very quickly.
“Good morning, Mr. Samuel.”
I smiled faintly at the respsionist desk in the lobby of this office. The woman's habit has never changed even for a year. He was very happy to greet me with his centile style, but if it was not me who passed by he would never be so friendly.
I don't know where he knows my name. Wait, not only him but almost all the women in this office have been known by my name since the first time I worked. Though I did not know and did not want to know their names, especially the receptionist.
The elevator door opened and the thing I always saw and heard when I set foot on this floor was the riotous behavior of my men. Can't they just sit around for a day?
I choose to ignore those who are still engrossed in chatting, even though the intention of scolding them has already come to my mind. From the beginning, I emphasized the discipline of the workplace. And I'd hate to see them in their respective places but the table is still tight. Obviously it doesn't seem to reflect self-discipline.
I shook my head slowly. “Adelia and Angga come into my room.”
I walked leisurely to my room. But before I opened the door I could hear Adelia and Angga talking. Afterwards, it was followed by voices from others. Again I could only shake my head after entering my room.
I sat down and opened the agenda on my desk. As soon as I heard the sound of knocking on the door from the outside I immediately put on a face as flat and cold as possible. Soon Adelia and Angga came in, sat down and handed me a proposal.
I took a quick look at the contents of the proposal that seemed to be an easy means to vent my anger.
I slammed the proposal in front of them. “How long have you been working?!”
Angga and Adelia looked confused. But after that Adelia opened her voice in a tone of fear. “Meanour?”
I stared hard at him. Since long ago the woman did have enough guts every time she said to me.
“What kind of proposal? I don't want to accept! Do you know if you're launching a product soon? If your work is like this how do you want it to be finished?!" Ketusku full of anger. "Female, you've been working here a long time. Why make proposals still like this? A lot of wrong words, I don't want to know! Anyway this has to be reworked!” I slammed the proposal again in front of Angga who had been seen looking down.
“And you are Adelia, all quickly complete the determination of the price.” Imbuhku before they both get out of my room.
As soon as the door of my room closed I immediately heard a cry of annoyance from Adelia, just like usual.
“Tuh right, mas. Did I say he's mad as a devil! Not sure what we did overtime yesterday? Totally perfectionist boss that shucks. We will have to go overtime again!”
He always spies on me like that every time I finish scolding him. Isn't he so weird? I stood up from my chair and peeked at him from the window curtain. Her lips were nagging without a sound, I knew she was cursing at me.
She's the first woman to ever blatantly refute and answer all my orders. The thing that made me observe her since a month ago was where the courage came from, whereas her body was too tiny to accommodate all the courage she showed.
While all the women in this office were blatantly teasing me, she was blatantly swearing at me.
And it makes me laugh every time I think about it.
I reached into the phone, photographed it remotely and smiled at the results. He's biting a pen in his cubicle. Shortly after that I stood up and I quickly closed the window curtain. I leaned against the door and chuckled amusedly when I heard him yell at Rizal.
“Mang Diman know? My boss named Samuel? He knows exactly where the evil kayak is, kesel I mang.” I heard a voice coming from the pantry.
I intend to make coffee after Adelia left earlier. And honestly I didn't know that he was in the pantry with an office boy named Mang Diman, talking about me apparently.
I leaned next to the door while holding her side, waiting for Adelia to finish spying on me. As soon as Mang Diman came out I intended to get into the pantry. But what I did was lean back while watching Adelia who was making coffee with a pouting face.
Suddenly she screamed in annoyance and it almost surprised me.
“Why?” I asked casually after hearing him scream.
His body looked stiff after hearing my voice. He slowly turned his head and his face immediately looked so pale. Am I really the devil in his eyes? Why is he so scared to see me now?
“My ears are itchy, it turns out that there is my bullshit.” I said as I walked closer to him.
Adelia looked increasingly pale, her mouth open as if she wanted to say something.
“Bapak what? want to make coffee?” finally, he dared to open his voice.
I just stared at him flat and he looked even more scared. “Nevent so.” I said then step away from there.
I can't possibly make people's children faint because of me. Before I actually left, I took the time to glance at her again as I walked out the door. Adelia is seen patting her own chest and then her head alternately.
How adorable.
The day already showed ten o'clock at night. I was about to get out of the room and see Adelia still in her room alone. He just seemed to be coming home. Suddenly my phone rings.
“Hm.” I muttered as the call connected.
“You're still in the office?”
“Go home to grandpa's. Everyone gathers here. Don't you forget that Opa Jacob is here?”
Opa Jacob is the younger brother of his grandfather who has been in Singapore.
“Not calm aja.”
“Ya is hunted. I also otewe nih.”
I sighed in my phone in my pocket and then walked out of the room.
“You just want to go home?” I asked when I saw Adelia cleaning her desk. But after hearing my question his face turned irritated instantly.
What's wrong with my question?
“Finally Mr. Sam gives double-double.” Tightly with an annoyed face.
Every time he says a ketus like that there will be a long debate between me and Adelia. He's that's interesting. This month I began to notice him, in a state of annoyance, he would say whatever was on his mind without being filtered first.
It was impolite, but he looked what he was. And he's smart.
The sound of the elevator resuscitated my daydream, I immediately stepped in first. Adelia was seen just standing still while in the elevator, looking lazy with me. But I don't care. I silently smiled as I glanced at him. This woman can be quiet too.
I entered grandpa's house. It seems that inside it is very crowded. In my family, I often have gatherings like this. Not only at certain times, even I think almost once a month we will hold a gathering event with a family like this. Especially since two days ago Opa Jacob came back here. Grandfather was only two brothers with Opa Jacob.
“Come also finally.” I looked at Rafael, who was the grandson of Opa Jacob. Brother of Kai. Duh ribet yes.
“When are you back?”
“Tadi noon. Kanjeng queen ngomel mulu.” His whisper while handing me a can of cola.
“Kanjeng queen?” my eyebrows furrowed towards him.
The man who was about to finish his master's degree laughed. “Mama.” Word corrected.
I smiled a little, opened the lid of the can and took a sip.
“No beer?”
“Lo wants to beat up two old men, heh?”
I just shrugged my shoulders and went back up my cola can.
Grandpa Robert and Opa Jacob are very strict with things that smell what, call it a sinful thing. Ck! They are often angry if they find their grandchildren drunk, even Rafael was hit because he was caught drunk.
Even so still does not make the boy kapok. Not just him but everything, including me. We all go in and out of nightclubs secretly without the knowledge of our parents.
“Opa I from earlier nyariin lo. Said he wanted a soul mate lo.” I looked back as Rafael's voice came back.
