CHAPTER XVI

Arriving in Bogor, Jodhi still did not dare to wake Rafael. He is still waiting for some police officers at the location. An hour later, a police officer is seen and Jodhi just wakes up his boss.

"Sir Rafael, we have arrived" said Jodhi.

Rafael opened his eyes and looked out the window.

"How long have we been here?" ask Rafael.

"From an hour ago, sir, but I deliberately did not wake you up while waiting for the police to come" replied Jodhi.

"Thank you Jod."

Rafael and Jodhi get out of their car and approach the police. They explained to Rafael if they would make an arrest on the suspect. Their team was ready to carry out a raid on the thugs' residence.

Rafael and Jodhi get back in the car. They just have to wait for the results of the raid. Almost 3 hours after Rafael waited in the car, gunfire was heard from a distance.

"It looks like there is a resistance" said Rafael.

"It seems so sir," replied Jodhi.

"Hopefully they managed to catch him, I'm very worried about Delia's parents."

Jodhi just nodded her head. Shortly afterwards, there were loud cries from some people. Rafael and Jodhi search for the origin of the voice, when they see it turns out that the police have arrested the suspect. Blood poured from the suspect's leg, apparently shot by hot lead as he tried to escape.

Rafael got out of his car and approached the police. He clenched his hand holding in anger when he saw the suspect. The man was immediately taken by a police patrol car before getting a rampage from a Rafael Widjaja.

Jodhi approaches Rafael.

"Sir Raf, the suspect's been secured. You should eat something first" Jodhi said.

"No. I'm not hungry at all, Jod, we better follow the police. Once you get there, if you're hungry. You can leave me for breakfast" replied Rafael, returning to his car.

Jodhi only let out a long sigh, seeing Rafael's completely exhausted face made him not have the heart. But an arrogant man like Rafael Widjaja where can be arranged by him.

Arriving at the police station, the suspect was left sitting on the floor just like that. Even though his leg was still bleeding, but not a single member of the police treated him well. Of course it was because the suspect put up a fight when he was arrested, he had to accept the consequences.

Rafael's patience has run out, he is forced to act alone by approaching the suspect. But not a single police officer banned him.

"Who told you to?" rafael asked impatiently.

The suspect shook his head, and Rafael stepped on the injured suspect's leg, causing the man to scream in pain. Rafael's actions made the police officers smile.

"Do you think I have the patience to hear your old answer" Rafael snapped.

"Even sir, my goodness.I will say it" replied the suspect.

Rafael raised his leg.

"So who paid you to kidnap my in-laws, huh?" shouting Rafael.

"I never asked the man who paid me, sir. But then I heard them talking, as I remembered the man called Kate's name, and the woman called Bet... Bethran," he stuttered.

Rafael backed off and was shocked. He knows who the suspect is. So they both work together. What a coward, they committed a criminal act to separate Rafael and Delia.

Rafael explained who the man was referring to the police. They accept Rafael's explanation and immediately act on the suspect's confession.

Rafael's phone rings again, but this time the number is unknown. Rafael narrowed his eyes as he picked up his phone.

"Hello... Who'sis this?" answer Rafael.

"Rafael Widjaja.. How does it feel to lose your in-laws one day after you get married?" bethran said with a laugh.

Rafael believes the man who contacted him was Bethran Markes. He stared at the police while pressing the loud button of his cellphone speaker.

"So you kidnapped my in-laws. It looks like you're Bethran Markes," said Rafael flatly.

Bethran laughed again, "so you already know who I am, then I won't mince words anymore. I had no intention of hurting Delia's parents, because they would later become my in-laws. I just want you to divorce Delia and hand her over to me, and you can marry Katrina Dowell. The fiancee you were supposed to marry. If not, of course my initial intentions will change and I could hurt them" he warned.

"You think after I divorced my wife, she wanted to be with you, huh?" snapped Rafael, "if you dare to touch my in-laws, you will regret having dealt with Widjaja" Rafael tweeted.

The police immediately tracked down the cell phone signal that had contacted Rafael, but the signal was lost. It looks like it's a number that's used only once by Bethran Markes. Rafael was furious. He handed over all the suspects' investigations to the police. Rafael is back in Jakarta.

Delia awakens from her sleep, Huda immediately informs Rafael's current whereabouts. Delia is very worried about Rafael because he will directly face the kidnapping suspect. The woman kept pacing back and forth in her room while staring at the screen of her phone.

His phone rang again, he was happy to see who contacted him.

"Hello Raf, how's it going?" ask Delia.

"Good news baby, the first suspect has been caught. And whoever told him was already known, I will return to Jakarta soon and explain it to you" replied Rafael.

"Oh my God, thank goodness. Can we find out the whereabouts of father and mother soon?"

"of course. Delia, I have something to tell you later. You wait for me to come back."

"All right, I'm waiting for you to come back. Be careful on Raf's street."

"Have you eaten?" ask Rafael.

Delia was silent because she had not touched her food at all.

"If you don't eat, then I don't want to tell you this" Rafael threatened.

But Rafael himself had not touched the food.

"Yes okay" Delia replied.

Rafael hung up. He and Jodhi immediately returned to Jakarta to discuss the issue again.

Bethran returns to the warehouse, shocked to see that the food she gave him last night they did not touch at all.

"When you don't eat" Bethran snapped to Derry and Emili.

Roughly speaking, Bethran opened their mouths alternately as they stuffed the food into their mouths. The two spouted the food onto Bethran's face.

"Damn it...!" ogat Bethran, "fucking old bangka basics. I could have killed you and forced Delia to marry me. But this is not yet the time" he snapped.

"You don't think I can force her to marry me, huh? I'm sick of waiting for your powerful son-in-law" he added.

Katrina came and approached her, "you're crazy Bethran, they're your future in-laws. You're very rude," he said.

"It looks like I don't need them Kate. I can marry Delia even without them" Bethran replied.

"Then what about me stupid. If you're capable, why do we have to do all this? Don't forget, we're working together" Katrina said.

Bethran gritted her teeth, "I've lost Kate's temper. This old man is so stubborn."

"Patience.we are just waiting for word from Raphael."

"Give up. Take care of the parents, I'm sick of seeing them" Bethran chirped and left the barn.

"You guys, I don't have the heart to torture old people" Katrina said.

"You kill us, but never harass our daughter" said Derry.

"Oh my God, it's fitting that Bethran can't stand it, this cheap woman's father is so stubborn" Katrina said.

"Free us, you can't force love and separate them both" she said.

"Fuck you old mom, I'm good talkin', you're pissing me off. Your goddamn child came and ruined everything" Katrina snapped again.

Katrina took a bucket of water and poured it on Delia's parents, "you are so stinky, dirty and disgusting" she cried as she left the barn again

Emili wept being treated like that, Derry just trying to calm his wife who was beside him.
