CHAPTER XX

Emili Laros was immediately taken by ambulance to the hospital. The ambulance was prepared when Rafael and the police headed to the location of Delia.

Rafael and Delia get into the ambulance, while Tyar and Huda follow the police to find out where Derry Laros and Katrina are. They expect Bethran to tell them where Katrina is.

Along the way to the hospital, Delia kept crying on her husband's shoulders. The woman is very worried about her mother who is currently still unconscious. Rafael kept trying to calm his wife, the man grabbed Delia's shoulder and gently rubbed her.

"Calm down, baby, I found you. I'm sure he's fine" Rafael said.

Delia looked at her mother lying in front of her with a pale face.

"What about dad? if Katrina finds out Bethran's been arrested, what if she hurts you?" ask Delia.

"That is unlikely to happen, once Bethran is captured, then Katrina's whereabouts will be known soon. The police will save Dad soon. Didn't I promise you, I won't let you and mom get hurt, I'll keep my word Delia."

Delia's body trembled, her ears even continued to buzz due to the sound of gunfire that occurred just a moment ago. Raphael hugged his wife's shoulders tighter and tighter.

"You okay? Why is your body shaking Delia? It's almost over, I'm by your side."

"I still remember what happened, for God's sake it was terrible Raf. Even my ears are still buzzing. It's the first time I've heard a gunshot directly in front of me."

"You should also get checked out by a doctor, you're in severe shock, baby."

Delia shook her head, "i'm fine, you don't worry about me, please save dad," she asked.

"That's for sure, I'll bring dad home, we'll get together again."

Delia nodded her head. The nurse who handled Emili Laros in the ambulance told them not to worry, because Emili was only in severe shock and lack of food intake. Emili Laros only needs a few days of rest and she will be healthy again as usual. Hearing the explanation, made both Delia and Rafael very relieved.

They finally arrived at the hospital. Emili Laros was immediately rushed to the ER room to undergo a follow-up examination. After making sure the woman was okay, they moved Emili to the treatment room. Rafael requests a 1st class room at the hospital.

"It's better that you also get Delia checked, you're also in severe shock, the doctor can give you a sedative" Rafael said.

Stubbornly, Delia shook her head again. Rafael let out a long sigh, he wanted to immediately go to the police station to find out the whereabouts of Derry Laros, but he was also very worried about the state of Delia.

"I have to go to the police station, baby, but seeing you like this, how can I leave you?" ask Rafael.

"I'm fine, you go. Find me soon."

Rafael mengci um Delia's forehead, "if you feel something is wrong with your body, quickly call the doctor to check it. I'll be right back once everything's done, take good care of me, baby."

Delia nodded her head again. With a heavy heart Raphael left his wife and father-in-law. He only asked one of the police officers who followed them to keep Emili and Delia safe as long as he was not around.

The warehouse where Katrina held Derry, actually not far from the location Bethran hold Emili.

Katrina cursed, furious when she was told by her men that Bethran had failed and was arrested by the Police.

He looked at Derry Laros, "your wife is free, old man, but you're still in my hands. Since that damn and stupid Bethran failed to carry out his plan, then I won't let my plan fail. I'll still get Rafael by any means."

Derry Laros laughed, "doesn't you let me go too, it's not too late to regret what you did, son. If you turn yourself in, maybe the sentence's lighter."

"Damn it. You told me to turn myself in, you think I want to be arrested by the police? I'll never be in jail" Katrina snapped.

"What you're doing right now is criminal, you can't run from the law."

"No... You quiet...!" katrina shouted, "i'll never get into jail, because Bethran is too stupid, the only way is for me to ask papa for help" he added.

"Miss Kate, what if we just move locations. Since Mr. Bethran was captured, he'll definitely tell us where we are?" said Katrina's men.

"We can't escape anymore, I'll have papa pick me up by helicopter. I'd better escape while abroad" replied Katrina.

Katrina looked back at Derry Laros, "to get Rafael by changing the safety of this man seemed impossible anymore. I'll find another way to get my girlfriend. So, we better leave this guy and burn the warehouse."

"You think after killing me, you can just walk free. You're getting harder and harder to get away from the law, you're even going to spend a long time in jail" Derry said.

"I said shut up. You don't have the right to talk" Katrina snapped.

The woman immediately contacted her father, he really whined for help from Frans Dowell. Surprisingly, Katrina's father did not want to help her at all. The man is more concerned with Dowell's reputation than having to get involved with his daughter's problems.

"You're crazy Kate. You dare kidnap the Laros family for a man. Quickly surrender, it will make your sentence lighter" said Frans Dowell.

"Well, I don't want to go to jail. Papa help Kate run abroad, pick up Kate in a pah helicopter," said Katrina.

"You have tarnished Dowell's name, I really have no face left in front of the Widjaja family because of your stupidity. If I help you, then Dowell's reputation is completely destroyed, don't listen to papa, give yourself Kate."

"No...! Kate please. help Kate this time reward. Kate's the only child, right? help Kate please," Katrina said in tears.

"If this time papa helps you, it means that papa took part in a criminal act. So you have to take responsibility yourself. Look Kate, your love has turned into an obsession with Rafael. Your actions are very wrong, son, obey papa. Come back Kate. Papa will help you to be free if you obey papa."

"It's not Kate's fault, it's Bethran's. Kate won't turn herself in, I'm innocent" Katrina cried.

"You work together, you're equally wrong. Dear Lord Kate, this time papa begged you, let go of your obsession, let go of the Laros family, come back and give yourself up" Frans said, hanging up.

"Hello pah.. pah.." cried Katrina.

Katrina threw her phone to pieces. He screamed like a madman in the barn.

Derry continued to watch Katrina's behavior.

Katrina reached into her bag. Suddenly the woman held a firearm in her hand. The woman put her gun on her own temple. Katrina's men ran out of the barn in fear.

"Don't... stupid boy...!" yelled Derry, "what do you want to do?" snapped it.

Katrina laughed, "no one else is on my side. Even papa wants me to turn myself in. You think I'd rather go to jail? I'd rather die" he shouted.

"Repent son, there's still a chance for you."

"Shut up. Don't lecture me. Okay, because you're so chatty, I'll take you to hell" Katrina said.

This time the gun was aimed at Derry Laros.

"What's in it you're killing me? You better repent to God, son," Derry said.

"Be quiet, I said," she snapped, "God doesn't love me anymore, I lost my fiancee to your fucking son. My father is also now leaving me, we better die with the old man. No one else can save you. I'm sick of all this. At least I can take you with me, even if I can't get Rafael for the rest of my life."

Katrina pulled the trigger and...

Dorrr...

A loud gunshot was heard inside the warehouse.
