MY VERY BRAVE WIFE

MY VERY BRAVE WIFE
Chapter 4

Elegantly climbing out of the car, one foot teasing at a time, the spectators gawked in admiration as two beautiful women exited the black car. The host in front immediately came to greet them when the two entered. She must be new because her eyes never escaped the legendary supermodel, Yang Ruqin.

Playing the poor boy's obvious wish, he leaned against the counter, his long, slender arms outstretched for him to see. Since the red dress did not hide many things, the boy seemed to gulp.

Presenting her with a sultry smile, Yang Ruqin easily made her blush. "I made a reservation under YR?"

The boy gasped from a daze, clearing his throat in an attempt to hide his red hue. "Y-yes, Ms. Yang. B-get here, please." He stumbled over his words, barely able to keep his composure.

Yang Ruqin wrapped her hands around Zhao Lifei's arms.

Zhao Lifei could not help but laugh, feeling sorry for the boy who was being played by Yang Ruqin.

Then, he guided them to their private rooms.

"That's cruel." Zhao Lifei chided as she left the room as if she found a lion's den. This poor boy...

As soon as he left, the waiter came in and handed the menu to them with two hands.

"I know." Yang Ruqin shrugged her shoulders, flicking her hair over her shoulders.

"This room is big enough just for the two of us." Zhao Lifei commented as she opened the menu.

Suddenly, Yang Ruqin, who was sitting opposite him, became stiff. "The bigger, the better, my dear." He winked.

Zhao Lifei who had gotten used to his friend's perverted jokes rolled her eyes. Though, the waiter who handled them almost choked.

Fortunately, he was able to correct his calm in time. "S-good evening, I'll be your servant for tonight. May I take your drink order?" Unlike the boy who guided them into the room, the maid was much more experienced.

"I'll drink white wine from your best bottle." Yang Ruqin said as she opened her menu and skimmed 'Special of the Day.'

"Please, lemon water for me." Zhao Lifei silently said, skipping the alcohol page on his menu.

The waiter nodded, remembering everything in his head. After a few seconds of ordering their food, the two closed the menu. Then the waiter picked it up, bowed, and excused himself.

After he left and the two of them were alone in the large private room, Yang Ruqin finally spoke up. "Are you sure you don't want a glass of wine? They have some of the best collections in town." He pondered, vaguely recalling the previous Zhao Lifei who drank wine like water.

"No, I promised Grandpa I'd stop drinking too much." Zhao Lifei explained with a small smile.

When his mother and father left him two years ago, on the day he fell from Shenbei's grace, Zhao Lifei was left to fight evil alone.

His parents cancelled his credit card, evicted him from their home, and practically did not admit it without official papers, which left him with no resources. Her grandfather was the first to offer her help. He was surprised to see this, as he put the business above the family and was rarely known to do good to others, regardless of whether he was his relative. Little did he know, his grandfather valued him more than others and it was for the very special ability he had.

"Hm, speaking of Elder Zhao, how has it been lately?" Yang Ruqin tapped her finger onto the table, with her perfect chin resting on her hand.

Zhao Lifei chuckled at the recent memories of his grandfather in his Kung Fu outfit fighting and beating up younger men.

"He lived as usual." He pondered, twinkling in his eyes.

"Sir, I think you're in the wrong room." Zhao Lifei frowned, her hand silently reaching for the pepper spray she always carried.

The man was wearing casual clothes but upon closer inspection, Zhao Lifei realized that his clothes were from Hermes' latest season menswear collection.

"Oh no, he's not. I invited him." Yang Ruqin smiled.

Zhao Lifei blinked confusedly.

"My dear, meet Han Wuting. He's one of the country's leading doctors." Yang Ruqin gestured for the man to sit across from Zhao Lifei.

"It's nice to meet you, Zhao Lifei." The man's voice turned out to be very soft and smooth, like milk chocolate.

"Please, the fun is mine." Zhao Lifei warmly smiled, gesturing for the man to sit down. Even though he was all smiling and the sunlight was outside, a storm of anger appeared within him.

He's tired of being set on a blind date without anyone telling him! She knew that she should have been suspicious when Yang Ruqin insisted she was wearing a beautiful dress instead of her usual official pants.

Just as Han Wuting was sitting down, the waiter came in carrying a drink. He was a little surprised to see a new guest had joined the table, but he soon regained his composure.

"What menu do you want, sir?" The waiter asked while putting down a drink.

"No, I'll get what he has." Han Wuting nodded towards Zhao Lifei.

The waiter nodded and handed out drinks.

However, Han Wuting was shocked when she saw that wine glass for Yang Ruqin and not for Zhao Lifei. He might not be very informative about high society, but when he researched Zhao Lifei, he was sure he liked to drink alcohol.

Noticing his curious gaze, Zhao Lifei smiled. "I'm trying to cut down on alcohol. That's not the best for my kidneys." He laughed lightly, sipping the water.

"Ah, so. Well, as a doctor, I wholeheartedly agree with you." He winked, rolling up his cashmere sweater sleeve to reveal an expensive Rolex watch on his wrist.

Zhao Lifei hummed in response but did not say much. He knew he was deliberately showing off his wealth, but growing up in a high-class society, a simple Rolex was not enough to impress him. He had taken a better look, in particular, at Zheng Tianyi's outstanding watch collection ...

The entire conversation between the three was light and fluent, despite Han Wuting's constant chatter in which she often tried to invite Zhao Lifei into the conversation. Although he was very polite and would always answer, his answer was intentionally made dry. He did not want to guide her as he seemed to be very interested in her.

Han Wuting was not a bad-looking man. His hair was half combed backwards on one side, the other side was neatly shaved to fade, and his facial features were bright in the eyes. He was very polite and respectful, but there was nothing interesting about him.

Although Zhao Lifei had exchanged his number with him, he was reluctant to do so and, deliberately gave the wrong number.

Lunch went well and when they got out, the sun started to set.

"Hopefully your day is fun, Han Wuting." Zhao Lifei bid farewell to him with Yang Ruqin doing the same.

"Hopefully have a good day, ladies." He smiled, revealing his perfect white teeth. With a final nod, he got into his car and left.
