Not Just Love

Not Just Love
Chapter 34. Let's split.

"You yourself? Didn't you betray her too?" hiss Zamar.

"You-you mean?" Sandra's voice stamped. He walked backwards, without realizing it.

"That night, were you with him?"

Sandra's whole body, wet with cold sweat. He squeezed the edge of his shirt, with trembling hands.

"I don't understand what you're talking about."

Step by step, Zamar approached. Sandra panicked, but could only freeze in place. The sharp look of the word and the tightening jaw, implying anger. For the first time, he looked at those two eyes, looking at her coldly and expressionless face.

"That night, you said. You were together that night. You asked him to drink alcohol and he could only afford a glass. Do you remember?"

"I-I, I, I don't know." Sandra turned her face. Moving backwards, but held back by Zamar who had gripped his left hand.

"Don't make me hate you, Sandra. All this time, I respected and cherished you as a friend. I don't want to be so bad before I know the truth."

Sandra cornered. His tears grew and he could not stop it. One mistake, which put him in this state. Drunk, he now blames the liquor, which every time there is a problem, he will make it as a sedative.

His logic continued to rebel, as the heart moved its lips, to lie.

"I don't remember, ever saying that."

Both of Zamar's hands fell. His gaze was still the same, cold and unfriendly. His breath, it sounded as though he was full of disappointment. He retreated, without taking his eyes off.

"I am considerate and kind to you, because I asked, to marry me. We have the same goal. But right now, I see, your feelings and goals are different."

Sandra's heart is about to explode. Likewise, both of his lungs that seemed to stop functioning, making him lose oxygen. He stared at the man in front of him.

"Am I wrong?" lirih Sandra's. "I fell in love with my own husband. Am I sinning? All this time, I also kept reminding my mind. But, I lost. Now, you judge me, as if I were doing evil." Sandra bit her lip, to hold her prank.

"Let's split!" zamar, firmly. "I don't want to, you're hurt by your feelings and I can't return your feelings."

Sandra smiled bitterly. He drooped in his chair, glancing at the ceiling with wet eyes.

"Do you hate me just because I'm in love with you?"

"No. But, I hate your dishonesty."

"You mean, my feelings?"

"No. About Maya."

Maya, Maya and Maya. Why are women who have long disappeared, still among them. Disappointment and heartache, mixed into one. Sandra had no more energy, to argue. He just sobbed, with his head down and his temples in a twitch.

"It's almost three years, Zamar. You hate it, but still keep it in your heart. You think Maya will see how you feel? He's gone and you're the one who kicked him out and ruined his dreams. You think he wouldn't hate you? Isn't that funny."

"It's none of your business." Zamar turned around, was about to leave. But he stopped again, without looking. "I'll take care of our divorce as soon as possible."

Silence, after the door closes. Sandra pressed down firmly on her chest, hoping to breathe better. She was drowning in tears and anger, no matter who. He was angry with her, at Zamar and at Maya.

Why can't time change someone's feelings?

Sandra no longer had the mood to work. It's so fucked up right now. Make up faded, her hair ruffled, and her face puffy.

"Hello, Ma." Sandra sobbing.

"Why, baby? You crying?"

"Zamar, will divorce me." Sandra was covered in tears and her left hand, grabbed her hair firmly.

"Don't cry. Mama, won't let that happen. Now, you're home!"

"But how should I? I have no face, to face it."

"Be honest, as always. You go home and we talk at home. Mama's going to see him."

"Good, Ma."

Sandra ran into the toilet, washing her face repeatedly. She tidied her hair and re-polished her face, with make up. Finished, he stared at his reflection in the mirror. He forced a smile and patted both of his cheeks.

Zamar gasped, as he had just set foot in his room. The woman, whom he saw was in the hospital, this morning. Now, suddenly here.

"August, Ma. I just met a client."

"Sit. Mama there's a need."

Zamar chose to sit on a single sofa, facing the mother. He noticed the smile and the movements of the woman in front of him. Like, just won a prize, because his smile looked different than usual.

"Mama, I went to the hospital. Mama consulted with Marsya's doctor, regarding baby tubes. What do you think?"

So this, which makes the mother look different today? Zamar took a breath, regulating the rhythm of his heart that suddenly beat fast.

"Mama, did you ask Sandra?"

"No, honey. Mama has not met. Mama, want to hear your opinion first. You've been married a long time and Mama's getting embarrassed, if you keep asking the same questions every day."

"Why should I be ashamed? We can't do anything if God doesn't give."

"At least, you should try, Zamar. Wanna, huh? It's for the sake of, Mama."

If, the last two words were thrown out, Zamar seemed to have no other choice. Not the heart, that's the weapon that made him melt instantly.

"Did Mama really want a grandchild?"

"Yes, dong. You question, how the hell. You still remember Mama's friend, whose son is a doctor. She's got twin grandchildren and every time she meets, she'll tell them, just make Mama hot."

The twins? Zamar remembered the twins who swam with him. It's funny, having a pair of kids like them. Moreover, the extremely adorable and chatty Khaira. Zamar smiled, remembering that moment.

"I'll consider, Mama's request."

"Coconsidered? You have to agree, Zamar. Tomorrow, we go to the hospital, for a checkup."

"Tomorrow, I can't. Maybe next week. All right, Mama get Sandra's opinion."

"alright. Come home later, Mama will ask him. You guys better get home quick!"

"Yes, Ma."

"Yes, already. Mama go home first."

Zamar stayed in his seat of greatness. His hands were clenched, banging on the table. His brain thought hard, looking for a way out.

Geck, tok, tok.

"Master," Huan stepped hurriedly.

"What's wrong?"

"We found a trace, Miss Maya?"

Zamar rose, his chair slammed backwards. "Where?"

"He's headed for a fishing village on the coast, but we haven't confirmed his location. On the coast, there are a lot of fishing villages and we'll go through them, one by one."

Is correct. Seas. Maya loves the sea. I should have been looking for him there.

"Do, immediately! And, find out on the coast, where I built the villa. Start, from there."

"Good, Sir."

Zamar took out a photo of Maya from inside the drawer. Looked at him with longing.

Hang in. Let me, fetch and prostrate, to you.
