OUR EARTH
CHAPTER 14 "STOP! Illegal Logging"

We do not think the members of the Nature Lovers SMEs have been doing their duties for a week in the village of Kranji. This is the day to part ways and say goodbye to the villagers. Mr. Karso is very grateful to all of us for improving the habits of his villagers.

"Mas, Mba the father of matursuwun sanget kalih you were even in rewangi for a week iki (Mas, Mba I'm very grateful to you have been helped for a week)," said Mr. Karso while shaking the hand of Bang Kris.

"Magih Pak sami-sami kula as well as seneng can help iki village (iya Pak both me and others are happy to help iki village)," he said representing us all.

When we wanted to get in the car, someone called us while running. The person turned out to be Mr. Solehun the all-rounder.

"Mba, Mas wait for sit," he called as he ran.

We all stopped our steps and looked at him, "Pak Solehun wonten napa Pak? (Pak Solehun what is it sir?)," asked Bang Kris politely.

"Niki mr. duwehi a speck of olihan nggo you on (this father has a little memento for all of you)," he replied while giving the parcel he brought to Bang Kris.

"Niki napa sir?(this is what sir?)" ask again.

"As for the small (small) wallet sekang (from) coffee wrap hopefully you guys on like yes," he replied.

"Matursuwun sanget Pak (thank you very much sir)," said we all simultaneously.

Mr. Solehun smiled at us because he was happy that his gift was well received by us.

"Sami-sami Mas Mba" he said.

Then I'll ask if you'll excuse me. Sepisan maning matursuwun (Then we all say excuse me. Once again thank you)," said Bang Kris to Mr. Karso and Mr. Solehun while closing his hands to them and looking down. He got in the car with us.

The car door closed slowly blocking us who were waving at Mr. Kades and his people.

The task in Kranji Village was finally completed as well. Villagers have also been trained to deposit their trash into the Garbage Bank. And even now the management members of the Garbage Bank have been many and will not be hassled again. Goodbye Kranji Village may this village be what we hope it will be. The river is free of waste and back to normal.

...🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳...

On the weekend I was invited by the Frank to visit his grandfather's house in the middle of the forest. Not just me, the other guys. Frank's grandfather was Ahmed Baskoro, his mother's grandfather. Ahmed's grandfather's house was in the middle of the forest. He is the protector of the forest, so he chose to live in the forest rather than in the city. His house is quite simple, but he does not feel lacking because his daughter-in-law often sends him groceries.

The five of us went there in the car that Frank had prepared. Unfortunately the car could only stop at the side of the road, because we had to go through the forest to get to his house. The road is only enough to be passed by the motor. Because the Frank also often uses his grandfather's motorbike and passes the path.

While in the forest, Ahmed's grandfather was looking for firewood in the forest. But when he was picking firewood, suddenly there was a sound of some people talking about suspicious things. Judging from the style of speech it seems they are not all from our area. Ahmad's grandfather also intended to eavesdrop on him behind a large Alba tree.

"Kadir Juragan tree here turned out to be good, when will we cut down all the trees that are big enough and sturdy here?" ask someone his subordinate.

"Faster is better, but it looks like we have to mark which tree to cut" he replied. Then he told his subordinates to give a paint to his other subordinates.

"Supri quickly paint the other one to Ucup and start marking all the trees here," he said.

His men who often called Supri according to the words of his jury. Supri and Ucup are loyal followers of Juragan Kadir. This Kadir scout is one who likes to cut down forests carelessly. Or what is often called illegal logging. There have been 10 forests from various parts of Indonesia that have been explored to cut down trees. But somehow he could escape the police easily and not be arrested.

Speaking of illegal logging or illegal logging, this action is an action that can damage nature and the habitat in it. The nutrients in the soil will definitely be lost because the tree that should be a buffer is even cut down. As a result the landslide and cause flooding and forests will lose their function. Therefore, try to avoid these actions.

Ahmed's grandfather, on the other hand, was very surprised by what he heard. In his heart he wanted to report on the actions of Juragan Kadir and his loyal followers. He decided to go back first to think about how. But when he wanted to return, he accidentally stepped on a branch in front of him to cause a loud enough sound

CRETE

"Who's there?" Juragan Kadir quickly raised a question loudly.

Ahmed's grandfather quickly ran away from there. The curious Kadir scout approached the source of the sound, but it turned out that all he found was a rabbit that also stepped on a twig.

The five of us arrived at his doorstep. The Frank immediately shouted to his grandfather, "Foots oh Feet" calling him loudly repeatedly. (Feet here means Grandpa huh). But no answer came out of the house. The five of us decided to look for him in the forest. Because he might be there. But just as he was about to go looking, Ahmed's grandfather appeared with a hasty breath. Frank quickly called his grandfather back.

"Legs (Grandfather).

Grandpa Ahmed let out a long sigh and then approached the five of us, "Eh Prengki putune kaki dateng apparently (eh Stamps granddad came apparently)," he said happy too. Then he put his firewood to the side of the house.

"Yes Ki" he answered.

"That's your kanca?(that's who's your friend?)" ask grandpa.

"Nggih Ki (iya Kek)," he then introduced me and others to Kekek Ahmed. "Kie Alam, Budi, Sinta, karo Clara ki (this is Alam, Budi, Sinta, the same Clara Kek)," he said.

"Oh suwun ya dah on so kanca ne Preng, (oh thank you for being the minister of Preng)," he told the four of us.

"Sign Ki kula as well as karo Frank (yes Kek we are all happy with Frank's victory)," I replied with a smile followed by the others as well.

"My boy iki My feet are like Ahmed's feet (these are Grandpa Ahmed's friends)" said Frank, introducing his grandfather to us.

"Greetings to Ahmed's feet" I said. The four of us took turns to regret it.

"Yes hayu mlebu, mlebu (in and in)". Grandpa Ahmed told us all to go into his humble house.

Me and the others are now sitting in a circle in an amben or bed without Grandpa Ahmed's bed.

"Monggo ngunjuk sit (please drink first)," Grandpa Ahmed gave water to us all, then he sat down to join.

"Foot with miki kaki ngos-not bored rich test in udag celeng?((How come grandpa was tired of being chased by wild boar?)" ask Frank the grandson.

"Kaki miki mlayu because of avoiding wong wong sing arep destroyed iki forest (Kakek had run because he avoided people who want to damage this forest)," he replied.

"Why does sing arep destroy Ki's forest? (who wants to destroy the Kek forest?)," I asked for a moment.

"Ana wong telu miki sing foot weruh again nandai siji-siji wit sing rep in tegor, rich ne udu wong Java ketone rich wong outside Java, rich wong outside Java, (there were three people who I saw again marking trees one by one who wanted to cut down)," he explained.

"Keep the legs cloudy within a week wektu kiye wit kudu wis in tegor (continue grandfather dread within a week that the tree must have been cut down)," he added.

"Ora (no) can be allowed this very danger can-can gawe deforest (so) landslide. kudu in prevent kiye (must be prevented this)," I said that I immediately felt unacceptable with the action.

"But how lam sure they udu kur siji (not just one)," said the Sinta doubted me.

"Iya Mas Alam leg wis investigate it turns out ana wong 15 lewih sing melu. Headquarters e ana ning mburi forest kiye (iya Mas Alam grandfather had investigated it turned out there were 15 more people who participated. The base is behind this forest)," Grandpa Ahmed told reporters.

"Hayu nyusup nganah jimot evidences ne (ayo infiltrate there, take the evidence)," suggested the Budi enthusiast.

"NGWENG NGWENG NGWENG DUG UDUG," the sound of the senso brand saw tool was heard and before long the tree collapsed instantly.

HUT

'What's kae (that) sound?" ask me for surprise. Not just me but the others as well.

"Legs, ain't jere foot genteni a week?(Grandpa didn't say Grandpa'd wait another week?)" many ensure.

"Mesti kae wit sing wis in tandani seurunge (definitely a tree that has been marked before)," he replied guessing again.

"Well check," take me to everyone.

"Lam I ra melu I Karo the Frank arep Meng headquarters e jimot proof (Lam I don't go along with the Frank wants to go to his headquarters to get evidence)," permission the Budi to me.

"Ok Bud I am also arep midio wong sing on nebang (ok Bud I also want to take a video of the person on the slash)," I said.

"Ati-ati Prang, Mas Bud (be careful Prang, Mas Bud)," Ahmed snubbed a message to his grandson.

We all decided to go check. But Budi and Frank are different from me. The two of them chose to investigate directly at the headquarters. While Grandpa Ahmed is coming with me. Sinta and Clara didn't come with me. I told him to report to the Forest Police or Purwokerto City Police. And for the proof, I'll send it right after I finish recording. Hopefully not caught.

...🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲...

At the place where the forest was done. Me and Kekek Ahmed have arrived near where illegal logging is done. We chose a place to hide so we wouldn't get caught. I quickly pulled out my phone and started recording it.

"Ati-ati (be careful) Mas Alam," Ahmed's grandfather ordered me to be vigilant.

"Yes Ki," I replied turning my head while nodding. I started recording it too.

"Cut everything down and bring it to the headquarters, we will have a big profit selling these woods abroad," Kadir told his subordinates.

The Kadir operatives intend to sell the proceeds from this logging overseas for a large profit. I'm still recording secretly because I feel enough evidence I ended my recording and sent it straight to Sinta. After that I deleted the trail of the tape just in case it gets questioned

"Papak-Bapak excuse me to ask what are you all doing if you may know?" ask me with pleasantries.

"Heh, same old man, yes, obviously we are cutting down trees if you are blind" he replied unhappily.

"Have these Fathers obtained permission to cut down trees in this forest?" askaku.

"No, what's the matter?" ask the workers back there.

"If there's no permission, you can all be in jail. Listed in Article 83 Paragraph 1 Letter b, Law No 18 Year 2013 on the Prevention and Eradication of Forest Destruction, with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years and a maximum fine of Rp 100 billion," anjawiku.

"Please read the suek boy," he was angry. Then the other workers looked at us with frightening eyes.

"And another pack is contained in Article 101 paragraph (1) of Law No 13 of 2013, Individuals who deliberately use wood from illegal logging and/or the unauthorized use of forest areas derived from conservation forests as referred to in Article 21 shall be punished with a prison sentence of at least 1 (one) year and at most 3 years," obviously I'm again according to what happened. I know all that must be from learning through Mbah google.

"We have done this 15 times, and we always get away with the help of the boss Kadir" said the worker who was trying to pull the machine.

The Kadir scribe that was spoken of appeared. He walked up to us all smoking, "What's this?" tanyakanya.

"Juragan, Grandpa and this boy are interfering with our work" said the worker who was cutting a piece of wood in front of him using an iron axe.

"The two of them even threatened us," another worker argued.

Juragan Kadir immediately looked at the two of us with a suspicious look. I felt so ungodly and so did Ahmed's grandfather who saw his legs shaking.

While at the wooden headquarters of Juragan Kadir. Budi and Frank managed to record all the evidence. But when he wanted to go back, two people caught him.

"Heh what are you doing?" two people asked from behind them.

To their surprise, the two of them quickly ran away from him. Two men chased him from behind. Because of panic too, it just so happened that Frank saw there was a motorbike idle that still had the key. He also invited Budi to run away on a motorcycle.

Bud Bud numpak iki cepetan (Bud Bud ride this cepetan)," he asked.

They both left the base but there was something wrong with the bike. The motor suddenly stopped and the gasoline ran out.

"Why stop (why stop) Frank?" ask Budi while patting his shoulder.

"Ne entek gasoline (gasoline is exhausted)," he replied.

"Weh stop you two stay there," cried the man who had been chasing them.

"That's true," said the Budi panicked out of sense. But I don't know what wind he immediately got the idea. "Buang bae throw hayu mlayu sing cepet wae (Dispose let's just run away)," he said giving an impromptu proposal.

The two men were still chasing him. They both panicked more and more, quickly they both got off the bike and immediately ran back to run. The two men were getting closer, but because they were lucky they ended up in a meeting with two Polhut members who wanted to check into the headquarters previously described by Sinta and Clara.

"Pak sir, catch me Karo kancaku areo in tangkep wong loro kae Pak. Kae perp (Pak, sir please help me as much as I want to be arrested by the two people. That's the culprit)," Frank fights the two members of the polhut while pointing at the two people who are still chasing him.

The two men suddenly stopped and thought about escaping but could not because the warning had come out.

Finally, two Polhut members managed to catch the two perpetrators. Now only my fate and Kekek Ahmed are still in custody by the Kadir boss. Juragan Kadir was looking at us full of suspicion and asked forcibly to hand over my phone to him. I also had to give it, after that the manager of Kadir immediately checked my phone starting from the messages, videos and others stored in it.

Juragan Kadir finished checking and will give my phone back because there is nothing there. But when I was about to receive my phone back, my phone vibrated the sign of the incoming message. Juragan Kadir also undo his intention and again check my phone by opening the message. The message contained Frank's report to me about his mission that was completed. Because the boss of Kadir read and listed there is a word headquarters in it. He also told his men to arrest me and Grandpa Ahmed. He suspected that the headquarters in question was his headquarters.

While on the other hand Polhut members were directed by Clara and Sinta to go to where I was

"So right here" said Clara.

Then the sound of the chainsaw again rang and the tree fell again,

NGWENG NGWENG DUG UDUG

HUT

They quickly ran towards the source of the sound. While I am hoping the other teams succeed and can qualify.

"Sir, don't cut it down, I shouted to prevent it". I can't do anything because my body is tied to a tree that hasn't been cut down. So is Grandpa Ahmed who is as lucky as I am.

'This forest must be protected please stop the fathers, '" Ahmed's grandfather pleaded, shouting.

"Diem there do not move or I will cut you with this tree," threatened the boss Kadir while pulling his saw machine back.

"Give your hands, you are all arrested on charges of illegal logging of this forest," the police said with a stern warning. Ahmed's grandfather and I were relieved that help had finally arrived just in time.

juragan Kadir and his men were surprised they all immediately raised their hands and were silent. With swift Polhut members immediately capture and secure them all. No exception to the boss Kadir himself. While Clara and Sinta released me and Kekek Ahmed. While Budi and Frank are still with other polhut members securing evidence in the form of, senso chainsaws, oil, wooden axes and three motorcycles. They are all now taken to the police station and will receive the punishment according to the article that has been determined. Before that, the Polhut members or the forest police thanked us all for reporting this crime to him.

Remember, forests are the lungs of the world. If the forest in damaged what about the fate of living things in it. We as human beings must always protect the forest and guard it, do not act like the boss of Kadir and his men. If you don't want to be in jail like them.
