46. Pigeons

"Crazy"

With a loud sound emanating from the exploding doll, a series of twittering birds appeared one after another, as a result of the explosion.

Countless tree branches swayed and a flock of white pigeons flew out from the forest towards the central statue.

From all over the park, pigeons flocked in different numbers and gathered on the statue.

"Report: there's a large herd of other pigeons flying in the distance, the numbers are hard to estimate!"

More than a dozen helicopter pilots had the most shocking experience of this large herd of pigeons.

It was as if they formed white clouds in the dark sky, covering the entire sky.

Of course, this is just overkill. In reality, pigeons fly at much lower altitudes than hovering helicopters.

By the time the large bursts of pigeons approached the statue, the pilot's view was completely blocked from what was happening below.

A sharp-eyed pilot saw the claws of the pigeon as if grasping something. He soon realizes that something is wrong and reports it to Gordon.

"Report: this is the eleventh unit, this pigeon seems to be clutching onto something!"

"What!"

Gordon's brows furrowed as he watched the herd of pigeons fly off in the distance. It is more visible from the ground. Each pigeon was indeed clutching an unknown object in its claws.

Gordon was very worried.

Swarms of pigeons were seen rapidly dispersing in all directions as they reached the position of the statue, even lowering its flying height.

Suddenly, the entire fifteen meter space above the central sculpture square was filled with pigeons flying back and forth.

The rough estimate is that at least tens of thousands of pigeons have gathered in the area.

”Phantom Kid has actually trained many pigeons. This was definitely not something that could be achieved in a year or two, which meant that he must have been preparing for this for at least a few years!”

Starling mused, “Could Kid's real identity be a professional pigeon trainer?”

"But how could he train that many pigeons in Robinson Park without anyone noticing?"

Starling felt a tremendous pressure; this Phantom Kid seemed much simpler than she had thought.

”Did he train them elsewhere and then migrate them here? But I have never heard of any recent incidents of pigeons migrating in large numbers, unless they were transported by truck ... But it's also impossible because since His Majesty came to visit, every car that goes into Gotham, even the FBI, is rigorously inspected ... "

"How did he get this?"

Robinson Central Park covers a very large area, so it is not difficult to hide a lot of pigeons. It didn't matter even if their numbers increased by several times.

But training a herd of pigeons was a different matter, and with tens of thousands of them flying in the sky, it was impossible not to attract people.

It's unfortunate that Starling still guesses one thing wrong: that the Phantom Kid has been training these pigeons not just for a few years, but for an entire decade.

The reason Mathison came here regularly every month for over a decade was to train these pigeons in secret, and instead of grouping them, she chose to do so in groups.

His training of only a dozen pigeons at a time would seem like a youngster feeding pigeons and would not arouse anyone's suspicion.

Thanks to his seemingly natural proximity to all kinds of birds and animals, Mathison would not be able to complete such a sensational training job.

Hiding behind the shadows, Mathison smiled slightly and pressed the button once more.

"You think I'm done?"

Simultaneous whistling sounds were heard as the stereo around the square was activated.

After listening for a few seconds, Bob, who was well-versed with pets, immediately saw the matter; this whistling sound seemed to imply some sort of command, which was not addressed to humans, but delivered to pigeons!

"Agent Starling, Barbara, watch out for that pigeon!"

Upon hearing the whistle, the tens of thousands of pigeons flying low in the sky received orders and threw objects they held at their feet regularly.

After throwing the mysterious object, the group of pigeons scattered in all directions and flew towards an unknown destination.

"Why hasn't Kid showed up yet?"

Many of the young girls in the crowd who wanted to catch a glimpse of the Phantom Kid complained of being dissatisfied and even more glared at their male friends with annoyed faces.

”I'm not Phantom Kid, how do I know when he's out. And why are you mad at me if Phantom Kid doesn't come out! Shouldn't you blame Kid? ”

Countless men gritted their teeth and vowed to punish this Phantom Kid one day for putting them in such a situation.

"Hmm? What fell from the sky?”

"Why it's still exploding!"

"Where did all the smoke come from?"

“Coughs, coughs, coughs, this chokes, there's a hot feeling in my face, my eyes hurt, and I can't hold back tears!”

Tear gas!!

Yes, this was the preparation Mathison did every night unbeknownst to Barbara, she had spent a lot of money to create a large amount of hypnotic gas in her fortress.

Because it needed to be made so that the pigeons could easily hold it, each tear gas grenade was compressed many times, so the effect was not too strong. However, a large number of small tear gas grenades, once exploded, still covered the entire square.

No one is spared.

Ordinary people, unlike trained GCPD police officers and British royal guards, can do nothing but cover their eyes and noses, even if they are exposed to tear gas. They make sure at least that they won't move.

The same could not be said for the tens of thousands of people, who were terrified, rushing in panic. Some managed to run in the right direction out of the area covered in tear gas, but more fell inside.

The police defense, with a single touch, collapsed!

"Damn, I can't see anything!"

Gordon is very sorry at the moment. He was supposed to prepare a number of gas masks but he still knew too little about these monstrous bandits.

All he could do was cover his mouth and nose as best he could and feel his way to the Queen's position. No matter what, protecting her was the top priority!

Starling and Bob acted in line with Gordon, as did Barbara.

It is not known whether it was intentional or not, but the smoke is thinner near Queen Elizabeth. And after the Queen covered her mouth and nose with the handkerchief she was carrying, she was unharmed.

"Your Majesty, it's dangerous here, let's go!"

At this point, Prince Charles also covered his mouth and nose with his handkerchief and walked towards the Queen with a worried and worried look in his eyes.

Okay, Charles."

The Queen nodded, no matter what discomfort she had just experienced, after all her son was hers. And although he could not see into the smoke, he could tell just from his voice that the place was in chaos.

This is not a place to stay for long!

Charles approached the Queen and was just about to help her stand up when a hand suddenly grabbed her wrist!

"Prince Charles…"
