Ch. 1 - Intruders

The moon shone brightly above, illuminating the entire forest with its light.

The light seemed to guide someone to show to a creepy cave door in the middle of the silence of the forest

Suddenly, the sound of approaching footsteps and the light from the flashlight that lit up from a distance instantly broke the silence of the forest.

"Meet..."

said a man with a flashlight in front of the cave entrance while whispering nervously.

The man's clothes were all black, a hoodie, a trouser mask and even included a bag that was on his back.

After observing the cave door for a moment, with a movement without hesitation the man pulled out a sharp sword from his sword sheath that was at his waist.

With the sound of “Sring” the sword broke the silence of the forest again.

He then closed his eyes and took a deep breath to try to calm his trembling hand and his racing heart, with a sturdy expression and looks will be ready to face whatever is behind the entrance of the cave.

"Well, whatever happens you have to get 'it'!"

He whispered to himself as he stepped slowly into the cave.

Moist air filled the man's lungs, turning his head and observing the wet and muddy contents of the cave.

The walls were filled with plants that resembled moss but released a soft blue glow.

Summing up that the light emanating from the moss was enough to illuminate his path, he turned off his flashlight and continued his journey to explore the cave.

After ten minutes of wandering in the cave, he heard a growling sound and a step that sounded closer and closer right in front of him.

With lightning steps he hid behind a large rock, the man peeked out from the crevices.

Seen a giant monster that resembles a mighty Komodo with a pair of fangs that are black and abnormal in size.

"Damn it, to meet the monster here. Really fucking."

The man muttered in an annoyed yet nervous tone as well.

Knowing he could not sneak deeper, he took a piece of paper from his bag.

Seen on the paper there is a very complicated symbol, he then holds the paper clipped with the middle and index fingers and then muttered little like saying a mantra.

Slowly but surely he quietly approached the monster, then the paper in his hand also emitted a red glow of smoldering.

He nimbly glued it to the sword he was holding, the sword flared up and was enveloped by the fiery flames.

"Heuw!!!"

He then ran agilely towards the monster.

The monster seemed to realize the presence of a man running towards him, he then shouted furiously towards the man.

Raising one of his large legs, he launched an attack towards the man holding a sword enveloped by the burning flames.

As if predicting the attack, he dodged the attack by jumping up and landing at the monster's feet.

The contents of the cave then shook strongly as his missed attack hit the floor of the cave.

Seeing the gap, the man was like a lightning, running towards the head of a giant Komodo dragon through his feet, but the Komodo dragon of course it will not just stay still.

He opened his mouth revealing a pair of sharp and deadly black fangs.

Through the fangs, he spouted a poisonous black liquid towards the man.

Again as if knowing his attack, he covered his mouth and nose.

Without further ado, he then swung his burning sword towards the poison thrown at him.

With a flash of blazing fire following the direction of the swing of his sword, the poison that had been liquid suddenly became vapor in the blink of an eye.

However, the Komodo dragon attack was not finished, his gaping jaw emerged from behind the black smoke in front of the man.

The man was startled, yet quickly picked up the horses, the fire enveloping his originally smoldering sword grew increasingly fiery, wild, and intense as if answering the man's resolve.

"Yahoooo!!! Die you fucking!!"

He shouted without hesitation swinging his sword towards the Komodo dragon.

"Graaahoo!!!"

Then, a cry from the Komodo dragon and an ear-shaking explosion rang out in the corner of the cave.

The body of the giant monster was then seen falling into the cave wall and his head was enveloped by the red hero.

The walls, ceiling, and floor of the cave were also covered by the overflowing fire.

But, the man did not let out that devastating attack unharmed. He looked exhausted panting holding his sword, which was without fire as an aid so that he would not fall down.

Both of his hands were filled with burns that reached his lower arm.

But powerless to endure the fatigue all over his body, he sat down.

He opened his bag and picked up a bottle of red potion after he calmed his breathing.

With difficulty he unsealed it and immediately consumed and finished the potion while looking at the smoke generated by his attack.

Both of his charred hands quickly returned to normal, but his expression seemed to be enduring intense pain.

But something seemed to be moving behind the smoke. He then felt the entire cave tremble.

He immediately rose to face the smoke and did the horses with his sword.

The tremors were felt again, but this time the source was not from behind the smoke, but from the ceiling of the cave.

A giant rock then fell towards what was behind the smoke.

"Groaaa!!"

Along with the shout, the stone struck the direction the sound source was coming from, and a great tremor also accompanied the monster's shout.

The man who had been in an abiding manner, now lowered his sword and looked a little confused

The dust then enveloped the cave leaving a giant monster corpse in the middle of this cave room.

A transparent floating blue screen was visible in the man's eyes which made him smile small.

After a while of calming down, he improved his posture and continued his journey through the cave.

A little while later, he arrived at a large and magnificent cave room in the middle of which was a glass capsule containing a kind of transparent blue blob creature.

"Finally I'll see you too!"

Shouted the man excitedly as he ran to the capsule.

He opened his bag and took out a bottle of purple liquid filled inside.

Decades ago, the sky lit up with a dazzling flash of light, the sound of deafening explosions that shook the ground and made people run around in fear seeking refuge.

It was the first of dozens of meteors that would rain down on the sky, each hitting the earth with the power of an atomic bomb that destroyed everything.

At first, they thought it was the end of the world. But that was just the beginning of everything.

The meteorites then began to release a strange energy and suddenly, a pillar of light soaring into space formed at each of the meteor's fall sites.

Dragons, orcs, ogres, and other creatures that can only be found in fictional stories emerge from these light pillars - events better known as [The Awakening Days].

The monsters that emerged from the pillar were extremely aggressive towards humans, who were still just faced with a meteor disaster.

The monsters began to kill humans vilely and ferociously.

Within three months, a quarter of the human population disappeared and about sixty percent of the total land on earth was unsuitable for habitation because it was filled and taken over by the monsters.

Of course, humans will not remain silent without resistance.

Just as meteors fell from the sky, people who had never even believed in magic suddenly discovered that they were filled with strange powers and almost incomprehensible abilities.

This phenomenon is called magic power or better known as magic.

They are able to control elements, create and control fire or ice with just a thought, can move objects with their mind, or even some special individuals can bend space and time as they see fit.

The people who generate magic power are called 'Awakener', Do not stop there the awakener then get the award 'status window' as in the RPG game.

This status window allows them to see the abilities they have, such as magical power, speed, traits and skills they have.

Traits are special characteristics or traits possessed by awakeners.

Each awakener may have different traits, which can affect their magical abilities or become a distinct advantage in combat.

Skill is a special ability possessed by awakeners. These skills and traits are usually obtained through training and learning done by the awakener.

They can also be obtained directly when someone wakes up to be a awakener.

The awakeners have prepared for a battle that determines the destiny of man.

They had prepared strategies and used their magic power and skills to defeat the monsters that threatened their world.

However, they know that a bigger challenge will be waiting for them ahead on the road to victory.

They felt that they needed to unite and help each other in order to defeat the monsters.

Therefore, they set up a special academy for awakeners and mankind that wanted to fight those monsters, a place where they could learn, practice, and improve their magical abilities together.

In this academy, the crew members can also learn about the monsters they will encounter, as well as the strategies that can be used to defeat them.

It was the beginning story of the game [World of Magic and Might], a game that was very popular and was talked about by gamers around the world.

This game is the first game that gives a lot of freedom to its players compared to other games, which makes it very popular with many people.

There are 8 characters that players can choose to play, each of which has a unique and interesting storyline.

This game is very popular among people of all ages, ranging from children, teenagers, to adults and the elderly.

I was one of the players who was obsessed with finishing [World of Magic and Might].

I sat in front of the monitor all day just to finish this game as fast as I could. Until I finally finished the [World of Magic and Might].

After reading the message and seeing the option, I decided to choose the 'Yes' option without thinking.

Suddenly, my monitor screen emitted a very bright light, which surprised me.

As I closed my eyes, I felt my body being sucked into the light.

When I opened my eyes again, I was shocked to realize that I had become one of the living awakeners in the [World of Magic and Might] world.

I have a 'status window' and magical abilities that are like a awakener in general.

However, I realized that the status window, which I had was different from the rest of the crew.

There is a level in the status window, I can raise that level by killing monsters, completing missions, and even learning like the rest of the crew

That was the story two months ago. Now, I was standing in front of the wisp of blue creatures in the glass capsule that was in front of me with purple potions in hand.

After two months in this world I realized that I was a talentless awakener, no matter how hard I trained, I would only be left behind by the rest of the crew.

I reached into my pants pocket and grabbed the monocle glasses which was an item that had the [Appraisal] skill. Using this skill, I was able to find out information about the thing I was checking.

10 Years ago, this Mimic parasite succeeded in making a S-class crewman its host.

After a long struggle they finally managed to kill him, that's what they believed.

But in reality, this parasite managed to escape.

This one in front of me is proof, in the story of [World of Magic and Might] this parasite was captured by one of the game characters named Max Goldwel.

Max Goldwel is one of the NPC (non-playable character) characters in the game [World of Magic and Might].

This parasite is one of Max's main powers, and I'm here to make this parasite mine.

I then unscrewed the bottle of potion in my hand, which would be useful to weaken and make this parasite enter my body making it my strength.

But just as I was about to open the glass capsule, I suddenly felt something strong touch my back neck. Powerlessly, I bounced forward and fell to the ground.

"Hey, how did you find this place?"

Those were the last words I heard before I fainted.

I woke up with a chaotic mind and felt a little dizzy.

After trying to open my eyes, I found that I was lying in a place that looked like a surgical room.

I was confused and didn't know how to get here.

I tried to get up, but my hands and feet were tied to the bed and my mouth was covered by a cloth. I felt panicked and thrashed to untie that bond.

But the effort is futile, the bond shows no signs of being broken.

Suddenly the door opened with the sound of “krek” and I found a man with a tall body entering the room.

The man had bright skin that looked healthy and looked strong.

His black unraveling hair added to the sharp impression that emanated from his face.

His golden eyes seemed to be able to read my mind.

"Oh, you're awake."

He said with a smile. Maybe if others saw his smile, they would only think it was an ordinary smile, but to me it was a demonic smile.

I know what his smile means. In the story of this game, Max Goldwel is a character who only acts if it is profitable for him or even for his own pleasure.

He can do anything to get what he wants.

"How did you know about [Mimic Parasite] in that cave?"

He asked, I was terrified. Many questions are on my mind:

'Why is he in that cave?'

'Isn't he currently in Silvertorn City?'

Question after question came into my head. In the middle of the silence, he finally opened his mouth.

"It seems you have no desire to answer, but it doesn't matter."

He then opened the box which contained surgical equipment and supplies.

"I experimented with creating a magic technique to see other people's memories, this technique I named [Memory Extraction]"

He seemed to be preparing his spell magic.

"Oh yeah, I've only ever done this spell to a mouse, I've never done it to a human. Congrats! you will be the first human subject!"

He smiled as he opened his arms wide.

"One more thing, because I was in a hurry here, I didn't bring any dope. So please be patient if in the process you feel pain."

He said it as if it wasn't serious.

I am speechless, fear has taken hold of me. I can only thrash around while he is preparing his magic technique.

Then he was seen forming blood-red magic circles that gave a creepy impression in his hand and he said:

"It seems that the preparation of her magic technique has been completed, then let's start now"

Along with that remark, cries for help and terror rang out in the room.

No one will hear or answer the screams.

I gasp.

I still can't believe the information I got from his memory.

I moved my body that was tired from the use of [Memory Extraction].

I then moved the corpses that had been affected by the [Memory Extraction] trial into the forest as food for the monsters with the intention of wiping out all the evidence.

After that, I returned to the cave where the Mimic parasite was located, and I tried to digest the information from the memories I had just extracted.

According to those memories, this world was the game world of [World of Magic and Might], and I was one of the characters in it.

"Hahaha, that's very interesting" I said with a smile and a small laugh.

From childhood, I was never really interested in anything.

But now look at me, like a child excited to get a new toy.

In that memory, there will be many interesting events, with a radiant mood and full of ambition, I began to move to plan the things that I will do in the future.
