Ch. 12 - Devil Contractors (2)
When I realized that the magic spell was a B-class storm surge, I did not move. Thunderous and thunderous lightning surrounded me, I felt a loud tremor within my body.
Vaporizing all the magic I had, I added more power to my shield, as an act of preparing myself for the crazy attack of this monster.
It unleashed its attack, and a dazzling lightning energy struck the shield.
A dazzling intense beam encompassed the battlefield as the two energies fought to subdue each other.
I exerted all my strength and focused my attention on the shield, injecting more magic and strengthening it.
“Tristan!”
Lilith's voice rang out in my ear, trying to save me from the impending attack.
But his actions were in vain, because the enemy's attack had broken through the formidable shield I made.
Red lightning filled the entire battlefield, and thunder reverberated in the distance, signaling that the enemy's attack had reached my place.
I tried to focus on fending off the attack with my shield, but unfortunately I couldn't help but notice signs of exhaustion.
Blood flowed from my nose, signaling that my body was starting to run out of magical power. My head felt dizzy and my vision was twitching, but my determination to endure did not fade.
Suddenly, I felt a great tremor in my shield, followed by a loud explosive sound.
The shield I had painstakingly made was shattered, extinguishing my determination to endure.
As I stared slowly, red lightning crept towards my body, filling the battlefield with dazzling light.
I close my eyes and will willingly receive an attack from the monster, but the attack will not come.
Curious, I then opened my eyes and saw a wide back that exuded a sturdy and reliable aura.
“Sorry to make you wait a long time.”
A heavy and resolute voice rang out, it was the voice of Ragnar Wilson, the Student Council member we met while going to the welcome banquet party earlier.
Seeing an extremely powerful enemy coming, Vern decided to escape. With a swift step, he arrived in front of the exit of this building.
It was then that an arrow shot out quickly landing and exploded on Vern's body that sent him crashing and failing to get out of the building.
“I just left this party for a moment, but what the hell is this?”
Zetto's voice echoed around the building as he was seen squatting on top of the pillars, with his body ready to shoot the bow he had in his hand.
He aimed his bow at Vern, and unleashed a barrage of deadly attacks that shot out at lightning speed.
But Vern did not stay silent, deftly he retreated and avoided the attacks launched Zetto swiftly.
"We'll see if you can avoid this."
Magis seemed to solidify in Zetto's hands, he then pulled the bowstring and pointed it towards Vern.
An arrow formed from Zetto's hand gave off a dangerous and deadly impression.
-Swoosshh
A sharp voice rang out from the direction of Zetto, and with a flash the arrow that had been in the bow was now in front of Vern.
Boooom
The sound of an explosion rang out where Vern was. Marble floor fragments scattered and left dust everywhere.
However Vern is seen casting defensive magic that protects his body.
Booooom - Booooom
The sound of the explosion returned, Zetto appears to launch an attack repeatedly towards Vern.
As if fed up and wrathfully attacked continuously, Vern cast magic quickly towards Zetto.
- Dor dor dor dor dor
The sound of gunfire echoed throughout the building, looking to my left Max was holding a revolver-type firearm while smiling cunningly.
"Aggghhhh!!!"
However, unlike my expectations, the shot appeared to hit and even seriously injure the monster.
It seems Max is using a special magical technique in the weapon and waiting for the right moment as he is off guard.
The monster then looks to cast another magic spell, we can feel the magical power getting solidified and magic circles appearing.
However,
Suddenly his body stopped and looked stiff, it was Lilith.
He then calmly walked towards Vern with a large jet-black knife, step by step the sound of high heels heard that quieted the entire building.
Vern who was confused and saw it looked very frightened and thrashed to escape his shackles, but it was a futile effort.
His body that had finally been limp was filled with injuries from the attacks in the battle earlier.
Lilith stopped right in front of Vern, she looked at Vern with a cold expression, then she took a deep breath.
Then with a smooth but powerful movement, he cut off the neck, which cut off Vern's head with a neat and clean cut.
Vern's head with an extremely frightened expression helplessly rolled on the floor, Lilith then took off her shackles. Then Vern's headless body limply fell to the floor.
Then the silence rang around, Lilith stared at Vern's corpse with her beautiful purple eyes and expressionless face.
The fact that Vern is Lilith's childhood friend, may make her sad to see Vern fall into the devil's temptation.
Everyone including me who witnessed this did not open their mouths and chose to remain silent, we could only see this from a distance.
Staring at the ceiling, Lilith then turned her back to the corpse and walked towards me.
“Tristan are you okay?”
“I'm fine, I just suffer mana exhaustion. Enough rest with enough, I can recover as ready kala”
“Thank God if it's like that, how about you Max?”
Smiling bitterly at my answer Lilith then asked Max the same thing, to which she replied with a gesture of giving a thumbs up.
Nodding at Max's reply, Lilith turned to Ragnar and opened her mouth.
“Thank you for coming and saving senior Tristan Ragnar.”
“No need, I just did what I had to do”
Lilith was seen bowing deeply which I got up and bowed to show my gratitude. Ragnar who saw this smiled and said no need, while the atmosphere in the room was warm. Max smilingly came and wrapped his arm around my neck and said.
“The attack that almost sent you to the afterlife, hahaha.”
‘‘‘Hahaha’’’
Then everyone immediately laughed together, and the short story of the security guards along with some teachers came on the scene and was quite surprised to see that his demonic contractor had been defeated.
They then thought that senior Ragnar had defeated him, but Ragnar shook his head and pointed at us, the first-year cadet and explained that he had only contributed to saving me, he never attacked the contractor and the four of us defeated the demon contactor.
The security guards and teachers were surprised by Ragnar's statement, Ragnar just nodded his head and smiled at us.
We were then asked which of them Lilith did the perfect task in answering her, seeing that we did not get any serious injuries, we were then instructed to return to our respective dormitories.
Seeing the glittering night sky decorated by the twinkling stars in the sky, I thought that my journey to stop the destruction of mankind was still very far away.
Sensing the breeze of the night I closed my eyes and slowly opened them by rounding out my resolve for the time to come.
