Chapter 61: Aswad 8 of 15 “To know who I am” (Part 07)

The light began to be reddish in color, the sun began to immerse itself at the end of the horizon and a gigantic black curtain would soon be unfurled. At dusk on the busy day, the points of light in the city of Mylta began to be lit without even a hint of lowering the atmosphere of the city that experienced the massive progressive.

Residents who went out to work in the morning began to return to their homes, travelers returned to the inns they had rented and the soldiers returned to the barracks before returning home or hostel. However, still there are still some vagabonds in the street alleys that make such a shanty place for shelter. A clear sign that the city of Mylta has a real gap.

Progressive economy does have an impact on the homeless, but that does not mean the people on the periphery can really enjoy the results. Only people who have capital and know how to process it can reap big profits. No exception, Odo Luke is also included in those who benefit.

On the first floor of the Ordoxi Nigrum, their first-day sales count was still unfinished. In the room that has been cleaned there are only Odo, Nanra, Canna, and Elulu. For the women of the Demi-human family went upstairs after they took a bath, then for the oldest family members they go out to meet his acquaintances who are still homeless to offer the work that Odo provides.

A few minutes ago, Matthew Mitus also went out after getting some orders from Odo to take care of something with the Red Dwarf Union. As for his wife, he slept in one of the rooms on the third floor with his daughter because indeed the race of women has more sleep time than others.

For people who are still on the first floor of the store that closed a few hours ago, they finally almost finished calculating gross income and do a bookkeeping shopping note to find out net income. Nanra only takes care of documents and some shopping notes, while Canna and Odo are in charge of counting one by one the coins they get, then Elulu records expenses and income.

Looking at the number of sales the first day, as a son of a former Elulu trader really did not believe in the results they could. He gulped heavily, then looked at Odo and said, “Tuan Nigrum, if not one of the teak leaf containers that we have it about 200 pieces, ‘kan?”

“Iya, about 200 pieces kayaknya,” replied Odo while piling the last coin.

Pouring a few stacks of coins to Elulu, the young man asked her to do the final tally. Canna slightly sighed as the work was finally done, slightly stretching her finger staring at Odo without saying anything.

“All it runs out in one day.” Elulu immediately counted with the abacus, then with sweat began to pour he said, “Although calculated by the menu Fish Nugget is the cheapest and most in demand today, the results ..”.

“About 6,000 Rupl, means six big gold coins,” Odo continued before Elulu finished counting.

Hearing this, Nanra's hands stopped and also looked at Odo who was sitting with a faint smile. Vaguely everyone in the place was aware of the amount because they seemed to not finish calculating income today.

Slightly turning away from Elulu, Odo again said, “From the gross of 6,000 Rupls, I only took about 30% of the profits from today's sales. This means that the net profit is only 1,800 rupees. Reduced board purchases and other extras, maybe net profit is only one big gold coin doang.”

Despite having heard this, still being able to earn up to 1,000 Rupls in one day is a large amount for a place that only sells food and drinks. Elulu fell silent again, and continued to do her job. The same thing was done by Nanra who continued to enter the archive and arrange it. Canna who had finished putting her face on the table, then sighed slightly while still staring at Odo from the side without saying anything.

But when they actually finished counting everything, the final result was much more than they had anticipated or Odo mentioned earlier. Elulu chose not to mention it directly, asking Odo to put the money coins on the table into two different wooden boxes. The net profit earned by 60% will be stored in the Guild or Trade Union as deposits and investments, and more will be stored by Odo himself as a store owner.

Staring at Odo while opening the parchment with the results of the income, the woman in the uniform of the waiter said, “We managed to sell 343 servings of food today, then for the drink reached 350 glasses.”

Odo fell silent on hearing this, beginning to calculate his overall result in his head. Choosing not to say it, he slightly tilted his head and said, “Keep, mention all his reports.”

“From 343 servings sold, details include: Fish Nugget 165 Servings, Chicken Nugget 50 Servings, Cattle Nugget 55 Servings, Rolade 35 Servings, Chicken Fillet 38 Servings.” Elulu stared at Odo. But when he did not see the change in expression from him, with a slightly signalling tone he read again, “Then for the sale of drinks, Apple Juice 304 glasses and a new menu suddenly added 46 glasses.”

“Hmm ...” Odo put his hand to his chin, then started counting all of it. While staring at Elulu, the young man with black hair said, “Means the result is about 4,950 Rupl for Fish Nuggets, 2,000 Rupl for Chicken Nuggets, 2,750 Rupl for Cow Nuggets, 1,750 Rupl Rolade, 1,750 Rupl, then Chicken Fillet 1,440 Rupl .... What exactly?”

Elulu immediately checked the number, then looked at the young man with a slight annoyance since it was indeed the exact number. Sighing once, the woman said, “How can you count that fast? I started to feel useless here, even though I have been counting for a long time.”

“Let's just relax, I was just helping out at the beginning like this. Next time you take care of this place. Seeing the right results, I don't think it's a problem to entrust the job to you,” said Odo casually.

Slightly jolted at hearing that, Elulu again sighed and felt that it was true what her master said. Looking at the report parchment on the table, he again reported, “For drinks, the final total of Apple Juice 6,080 Rupl and Coffee Milk Shake 920 Rupl. So for gross income as a whole today reach .... 18450 Rupl.”

Elulu covered her face with a parchment containing a report, then breathlessly said, ”More than 18 big gold coins. Uwah, even the most crowded Porzan inn one day only can only get four large gold coins ...”

Elulu dropped the paper onto the table, then handed the report to Nanra for archiving. Shaking and a little reluctant to see the amount, Nanra accepted it and examined it for archiving.

“Hmm ...” Odo scratched the back of the head, then in a slightly dissatisfied tone said, “Only 18,450 Rupl, yes ..”

Everyone in the room immediately stared wryly at the young man. “Only? This much you call just, huh? Has Mister ever held money how much to mention the 18 big gold coins only?” asked Elulu while turning her eyes away.

“Well, from that 18,450 Rupls I got a net profit of just 30% only. Means about 5,535 Rupls today. In the operation of the store that I want to make into 6 working days, means the income until the end of the week book closes less than 33,210 Rupl. Not to be deducted miscellaneous expenses such as wages, eating your servants, magic crystals for power generation, taxes, and much more. In my estimation a week can get a net income of 25,000 Rupl at most.”

“One month you can build your own village, know!” Elulu started getting carried away with emotions.

“Quiet first.” Odo slightly put on a smile, looked at the friendly Elulu and again said, “I'm grateful to get a lot, you know. But if calculated with the capital I spent to build a store and take care of permits, it can only close the capital for about a year if the income is only this much.”

Elulu got up from the seat, put both of her palms onto the table and with an elevated voice said, “My father used to say when someone if building a large business like this was the fastest capital cap 15 to 20 years, you know! That too if smooth! There is also a new generation of grandchildren can close capital!”

Odo stared at the astonishment of such a thing. Slightly tilting his head, the young man in black hair said, “That's if an effort is built to connect life. I built a business for development, absorbing labor and welfare of many people. That's why this store must advance quickly, you know the news about it from Arca and Lisia, ‘kan?”

Elulu gasped at this, and quickly understood the news of the possible war from the conversation this morning before the store opened. In a war of huge amounts of money is very important, so determine the victory and life of a person. Sitting back, the woman's brown-brown hair mused a little.

“You don't need to worry,” said Odo while putting both hands on the table. Staring flat at Elulu, while putting on a smile knot the young man said, “I will try to overcome it.”

The words sounded alarming in Elulu's ears, as if the young man with black hair was willing to throw his own life away to finish it. But not saying what was felt in the mind, the fairy brown hair woman instead said, “By the way, we are running out of all food ingredients, you know. Make tomorrow how?”

Odo's smile turned warm when he heard that, then while putting his index finger down his lips he said, “Then, this morning I have sent it to Arca. Later after he finished with his affairs, it was likely that they would also come carrying the ingredients. Didn't you hear that talk, did you? Last morning ...”

Elulu propped her head up, then with a faint smile said, “Ah, if remembered correctly too. You talk about it and give up the shopping list to her .... Where do you command Mr Arca?”

“Ke Uncle Aprilo's place,” replied Odo while lowering his index finger. Remembering something, the young man in black hair again said, “Oh, yes! If Arca comes with people from the trade union, please make one of our menus for them. Just say the deal from Odo, then the bill goes to Arca.”

“You are evil at all Mr. Arca.” Elulu looked wryly. Turning a glance and briefly lifting both sides of the shoulder, he again said, “I also want to often see the annoyed face of the mama's child, anyway. Personally, I don't like Rien's children.

At first glance Odo was silent, lowered his face and seemed to be thinking about many things. Looking at the daydream that seemed as if the young man's soul was coming out of his body, Elulu gave a glance anxiously and called out, “Master Odo?”

“Ah, eng ...? Sorry, I still have a lot to think about.”

Elulu and Canna were also anxious to see the young man's grim expression. Highlighting the eyes, facial expressions, and sounds, all that Odo saw really showed the saturated expression of a middle-aged man sitting in a chair that did not let him rest.

Canna sat up straight, then hesitantly asked, “What is Odo really thinking?”

The young man in black hair momentarily fell silent. Placing both of his palms onto the table and opening his palms wide, he at a glance wore an expression of wanting to scream loudly but being soaked deeply. Starting to smile with tired eyes, he at length began to speak.

“After this I also intend to increase the attractiveness of city tourism so that many people from outside come to this city, which is why I opened this store as a Culinary attraction. But before that, I want to improve the quality of life of the homeless by making a stacking house or something for them. Of course I also want to give them a decent job. Before that again I have to face an important statue next week, the engagement could be a political current changer in the kingdom of Felixia. I need to participate in the transfer of the Klista settlement later in the week, then make a work field for them as well. The merchant conflict must have arisen because of this trading company I built, therefore I also need to build relationships with outside traders. Especially the merchants of the Empire. I need to gain political status, or at least an official noble title in order to interfere in the military sphere in a big way. I need a relationship with another city to, with as many noble families as I can. I need more strength to be able to prove my competence and capability —”

“Mr Odo!” call Elulu out loud.

It made the black-haired youth flinch, straight out of his long murmur and immediately staring around. Putting his right hand to the face, he softly said, “There's so much to do, yes ..”

Whether Elulu, Nanra or Canna, none of them dared to say to share all the burden with them. What young people aim for is not something they can achieve, what he does not everyone can do, and what he sees is very different from others.

Odo took a deep breath, cleared his mind with such things and immediately replaced the atmosphere by clapping once. Gazing kindly at Elulu, the young man asked, “Oh, yes. If you want to invite your sister to stay here, tomorrow or tonight I don't mind. You can ask Matthew to bring your brother with his powers. You know where he is, ‘kan?”

“I-Iya ..”

Seeing the mood change that quickly, Elulu briefly felt fear for Odo. But in the end, the woman still followed the conversation and within minutes did not question her anymore. The same thing was felt by Nanra, he felt that there was something in Odo that should not be disturbed by anyone.

Unlike the two of them, Canna who knew Odo's identity at a glance just stared sadly and just took a passive part in their conversation. Canna clearly knew the burden the young man was carrying, what obligations he was carrying and what steep path he was going to take.

Before Arca came or Totto and Matthew returned, the young man with black hair ended the conversation with one sentence, “Sorry, I just remembered there was something else to be done.”

He got up from his seat, threw a friendly smile and walked out. No one dared to stop him or for a moment made him sit even longer on the spot. Opening the shop door and returning to throw a smile, the young man went into an increasingly pent-up night.
