Re:START/If {Book 1.0}
Chapter 27: Those who are called leaders 3 of 3 (Part 01)

After climbing the stairs from the sea of ice to the top of the harbor, for a moment Odo leaned against the wooden barrier while watching the giant chunks of iron begin to sink his figure into the waters. Breathing heavily, he turned his head towards the storage warehouses in the ruined port area.

Some people were seen gathering there in confusion over what had happened, they were material unaware of Odo's existence in that place due to the stormy pain of the circumstances. Wondering with each other, wondering each other and whispering incoherently. Some of the people gathered around the collapsed warehouse were also seen by some of the soldiers who had just finished putting out the fire.

Not paying attention to that, Odo momentarily fell silent and looked up at the sky that was already dark. Cloudy clouds still filled, the snow began to fall increasingly dense until the limit of his vision began to be disturbed. Breathing comes out of the mouth, becoming a white dew that disappears in the air.

“Aaaah .... Aaaaaaaaaaaaah .... Shitty, troublesome, sickening. Why is there such! Seriously? Such a world cycle actually happened? Crazy .... Damn this reincarnation. If you want to reincarnate a soul, at least a Harem or something. Give me the Over Power ability, cake! Why even be burdened with such troublesome responsibilities .... Want to get stronger must read hundreds of books, meditation, the same against monsters .... Desperate to be betrayed like that and stabbed in the back .... Ah, sucks.”

Squatting while staring at the people around the ruined warehouse, Odo actually let out the grunts he had long been soaked in. Before the black hairdresser returned to complain, a tremor of approaching footsteps was detected by his magic.

Looking to the right, Fiola was seen hurriedly approaching the boy. The nine tails were clearly visible, the fox girl did not even have time to use transformation magic to hide her identity that of a Huli Jing. Looking back at the fox girl, Odo realizes that Fiola may have come after Julia alerted the people at the Mansion about what happened before.

“Tuan ..., are you okay?” asked the girl dressed in black kimono doubtfully. He stepped closer, then looked to Odo's right and left to turn off the boy.

“Sgratitude .., you are fine,” he said in relief.

“Who is fine, Ms. Fiola .... See my clothes are broken, there are even blood spots,” said Odo flat.

“But your body is fine, isn't it? Then, no problem ...”

Odo stared at the fox woman. Turning his gaze away, he said, “Mbak Fiola is very different, yes .... Usually Madam Julia if see me why must immediately ngomel.” Glancing flat at the Huli Jing, Odo waited for his reaction.

“I'm not the girl, don't equate me with her,” Fiola said.

“Hmm, true also .... So, why did Miss Fiola come here? Even .... to the point of not using transformation magic .... Wear open kimono like that again.”

“Mr Odo does not need to pretend not to know, of course because Julia was reporting to the Madam with great anxiety. Haah, even though he has been given an obligation, but instead abandoned.”

Odo and Fiola fell silent, the two people could not find any other talk. Although Fiola could have asked what had happened to the child, but Huli Jing's instincts left him speechless. He felt that there was something that should not be known from his master's son, danger as if emanated from him.

“Mbak Fiola ..., don't ask me, yes ...”

“Hmm, I won't ask. If Mr. Odo doesn't want to tell me, I won't ask.”

“Thank you ...”

“Hmm ...”

The relationship between Fiola and Odo was indeed not as close as the boy was to Julia. Odo himself did not hate the Huli Jing too much, but in the long-lived creature's point of view the existence of the black hairdo was a slightly disturbing existence. There is no more reason in it, Fiola is not too fond of Odo because Mavis thinks too often about his son and often looks sad.

It was already truly night, a black curtain without stars adorned the sky. In place of the cluster, a colorful stretch of aurora filled the sky of the Luke Family residence. Odo returned after talking to Siska and Lisiathus Mylta as the successor to the interim Mayor at the Incara Orphanage.

In the conversation, the boy was accused of several things such as fishermen who were instigated by traders from the kingdom of Moloia who turned out to be minions to ignite the war. He also informs them that they are planning a murder and Nanra is involved in the plot.

Knowing that, Siska was devastated that one of her foster children had joined the plan. Nanra was legally to be punished and since Lisia was in the Orphanage at the time, punishment was inevitable. But as a victim Odo asks Lisia not to give punishment to Nanra. He asked Lisia to pretend not to hear that the white-haired girl was taking part in a faction of the urban revolution formed due to the incitement of the Moloias.

Getting that request from the assassination target in their plan, Lisia had no choice but to comply. It came out of the mouth of a Marquess child as well as his new partner, of course the red-haired woman could not help but refuse. Even so, the fact that the fishermen and residents who defected there were no survivors other than Nanra was indeed very heavy to completely erase Nanra's name in the case. In the end, the girl's position changed from perpetrator to witness for a while.

Standing limp with a tattered shirt full of bloodstains, Odo stared flat at the Mansion building. Silent halfway between the garden and the herb garden, the boy put on a lazy face remembering what had happened in the Coastal City.

Seeing Odo's footsteps come to a halt, Fiola turned around and asked in a surprised tone, “Why stop, Mr Odo? Are you afraid of being scolded by Madame Mavis? If you want, am I the one who gave the reason to Madam?”

“Hmm, Sister Fiola once attention. But not about that .... I was just thinking about the matter of invading the Kingdom of Moloia ..”.

“Ahh ..., that's yes .... Take it easy, I'll tell that to Madam. Later it will be conveyed to Mr. Dart, they must have done something to overcome it. After all, Moloia would definitely not directly attack in the near future. There is a law of the Fourth Agreement of States that still applies ..., as long as there is it they will not blatantly attack.”

Odo momentarily sighed, turning his eyes in fret. Huli Jing before him did not understand what was going on, from his point of view the war was not important. It was a fact, a long-lived figure like him did not care about such a thing. What Fiola has in him is only the safety of Mavis, he actually does not really care about the problems of nobility, obligations, or everything that weighs on his master's family.

“One year ...”

“Hmm, one year what, Mr Odo?”

“They will more or less attack in one more year. When the time is up, the war will really take place all over the country. The Great War will repeat itself ..”

“Oh, so ...”

Fiola really didn't care about that. Although he knew the power of the Kingdom of Moloia is the most powerful than other countries, but he did not feel burdened by it. “It's none of my business,” that's what's on his mind.

“What attack?” said someone from the direction of the Mansion. As Odo and Fiola looked at the source of the sound, Mavis came out from inside the building and walked over the snowy surface. He wore a thick leather jacket, a long gray dress and warm boots.

Seeing Odo wearing only thin and tattered clothes, Mavis immediately gave the warm jacket he wore to his son. “Why do you always make Mother anxious, what do you do until Julia reports like that, Odo?” ask the blonde woman.

Turning his eyes lazily, Odo looked at Fiola as if asking Huli Jing to give a proper reason. Fiola turned his face away, abandoning Odo who asked for help.

“Damn nih Fox. Big mouth doang turned out ...,” mind Odo.

Staring at her mother, Odo asked back, “Didn't Sister Julia explain anything?”

“He only said that the military of the kingdom of Moloia attacked and planned your assassination, son. But when you see you're okay, maybe it's true Fiola said if it's just Julia who's excessive. Where might the Kingdom violate the Fourth Treaty of the Country and confiscate—”

Before Mavis could finish her words, Odo took a bullet ball from her pants pocket and showed it to her mother. The woman was wide-eyed, she understood that such a thing was one of the components of the weapon used by the Moloia Kingdom.

During the treaty period, there was often a sharing of information on the progress of each country every few years and it was discussed in the meeting of the officials of the Fourth Conference of States. Mavis knew the weapon well and knew it was deadly.

“It ... rifle bullets?” mavis said worriedly.

“Hmm, this shotgun bullet contact.”

“Don't tell me the blood spots on your clothes are ...”

“Because of fire.”

“A-A .... The odo! Are you really okay?! It's a shotgun, one can die instantly if his chest is shot!” mavis said in panic. He immediately took off Odo's jacket, then examined his son's body carefully.

“Quiet only .... One or two shots won't kill me. Did Mommy forget? I once defeated a Dragon, where perhaps a rifle could kill me.”

“Not it ...” Mavis held onto both of Odo's shoulders tightly, then said, “That weapon can't be detected with magic .... If only normal weapons such as arrows or iron slings did not matter, but .. the strength of the weapon is dangerous. Even a farmer alone could kill a trained warrior with it ..”.

“Hmm, I understand .... I saw it straight away, felt it straight away. It is indeed dangerous, because it .. I want Mommy to immediately make a report about this to Father in the Capital. They ... really intend to fight.”

“If the report about the attack Moloia, Mommy will make it later! The important thing is we have to be treated first, you are injured, ‘kan?” mavis panicked.

“I've recovered, Instant Regen's magic has recovered my wounds?”

“Instant Regen?”

Julia was surprised to hear that. “AH ...” Odo only realized that he slipped unnecessary things. Slightly turning away, the boy said, “Y-Ya .... Automatic Recovery Magic by storing the body data information, then using the Mana to structure the recovery magic and recover the body condition to the beginning of the information data stored.”

“You ... can really use that, son? The magic that Master Aster used .... Where did you learn that?” ask Mavis keget.

“Book ..., in the library there is his book.”

“Learning autodidact?”

“Hmm, almost all the magic I mastered by autodidact. Just some basics I asked Vil, and if anyone doesn't know I asked him. Mother never taught magic directly, anyway.”

Mavis was really surprised to hear that. He understands that the potential of his son is very high, plus the willingness and level of development. But in addition to the pride and joy in his mind of having a gifted child, at the same time the fear in the minds of the long forgotten began to re-emerge.

Mavis returns how she was able to get a child after her uterus was damaged. Indeed, the method used is not bad by using a special stick belonging to Vil obtained from the contract of the Great Spirit, but who gave him advice and information about it is a problematic source.

“Hmm, why, Mother?”

“Eh ...? Ah, it's okay. Only, can you really use that? If not wrong, the effect of Instant Regen magic that affects the body.”

“Hmm, my body effect. Mommy see if I'm a bulge, ‘kan?”

“Ah, so the effect is different. As far as I know, Master Aster became unable to grow his body again after imparting that magic.”

At first glance Odo realized that the expression on his mother's face was fear. But he didn't know what he was afraid of. Trying not to think too much about it, the boy asked another thing, “Mother, if Mbak Julia anyway where? Kok not visible ...”

“Ah ..., about Julia ...” Mavis turned her face away and looked a little reluctant to answer directly.

“Hmm?”

.

.

.

.

In the kitchen room within the Mansion, Julia curled up in a corner with a pile of clothes that had just been dried near the fireplace. Seeing her like that Odo really felt that Julia looked a lot like an abandoned kitten.

“Yes, he's a cat breed anyway, his attitude like that is natural?” mind Odo.

“The nature is very different from Fiola, yes. He thought too much about duty. Although it is true that the authority obtained by Shieal is quite large, but there is no need to be depressed like this,” Odo's mind while slightly sighing.

The boy crouched down in front of the cat girl, then extended his hand saying, “Why curl up? Previously I asked Mbak to convey that matter to Mommy, ‘kan? Julia need not worry .... Ms. Julia complied with my request by taking Nanra to the orphanage and reporting to the Mansion, so don't curl up like that.”

“Ta-But ....! As a Shieal I'm leaving you instead .... For a moment I felt scared near you. Though I ... was already there, but still can not help you. I feel like there is no point ..”

“I'm not that weak to be helped by Ms. Julia, helping just a little is enough,” said Odo while smiling lightly.

Stop reaching out and get up, the boy slightly sighed lightly. Picking up the shirt strewn around the cat girl, Odo looked flat at Julia and said, “From feeling guilt to continuing, can Julia help me for a moment?”

“Help ...?”

“Hmm, I've got a business license and bought land in Coastal City. After other matters are completed, construction will begin this spring. Before that, I want to collect building materials, then look for blacksmiths and woodworkers.”

“Eh?”

Julia was confused to hear that, she did not understand why Odo could say that after what happened. Waking up and rubbing his teary eyes, he asked, “What do you want to do? Though ... such an incident just happened ...”

“Don't worry, I'm fine as Ma'am Julia saw.”

“Ta-But ...”

“Don't butsay, come along .... There is still a lot to do,” Odo said as he turned around and walked out of the room.

Seeing the boy acting like nothing was happening, Julia was completely confused. He questioned the child's level of fairness. Immediately wiping the thin tears, he walked after his master.

Immania who was near the perch was confused to see the conversation of the two people, the existence of the gray hair girl was completely ignored like air. Putting the cloth that had just been dried, he let out a small sigh after escaping from the atmosphere that filled the room.

Two days later. Although the sun has risen and the time has begun to day, outside the cloud cloud cloud is still not completely gone and makes the sky monochrome with snow grains that are still falling. In his own room, Odo sat in front of a desk while making some notes about the list of funds for the construction of his business office.

It had been almost two full days of him staying in the room without going out or taking a break, he continues to take care of the papers that will be used later as the Record Retention Schedule that will be used as a company policy to be made. Within two days Odo had made a list of what images he would do to restore the city and prevent the population dissatisfaction that led to the defections as before.

“Akh, when is finished .... Making it like this manually is troublesome,” complained Odo while putting a quill pen and a wooden ruler on the table. Stretching both hands to the side, he sat holding his head for a moment and thought of something else.

“Nanra Castle is now further excommunicated in the orphanage. From the beginning the child is indeed problematic, why should also go with the defector. I know that he hates nobles, but why not think before acting...”

“What daydreaming, Mr Odo?” asked Julia who came with a cup of herbal tea.

“Eh, Sister Julia? Since when?” said the black hairdresser in confusion. Staring flat at the maid uniformed girl, Odo was completely unaware of it before Julia spoke.

“Since. You didn't hear me open the door. After all, your table position can easily see the person who entered, ‘kan?” said Julia.

“Ah, I'm really daydreaming, yeah. I don't know why I've been like that lately .... Why is that, huh?”

“Maybe you are lacking in rest. This ..., at least drink herbal tea to refresh you,” said the Nekomata girl while putting a cup of tea on the table.

“Thank you.”

Odo did not drink the tea, he sat down to Julia and watched her. The guilty expression that later appeared on the cat girl was no longer visible, realizing that Odo was smiling lightly.

“Ke-Why are you smiling?” Julia looked a little scared.

“Tak what. It's just ..., I'm glad Ms. Julia doesn't pout anymore.”

Julia's face turned red, her tail moved furiously and she turned her face. “Ke-Why the hell are you! Don't be a monster, iih!” he said shyly.

“Wow, Real shy cat,” mind Odo.

Taking one of the parchment papers off the table, Odo watched for a moment and looked back at Julia. “What one of my requests is done, Ms Julia?” ask her seriously.

“Eh ..., ah. About the blacksmith you asked for yesterday? I've already submitted the plan to the blacksmith I know in Coastal City. Looks like ..., might be done in a week.”

“Hmm, thank you.”

Odo checked something in the parchment paper, then rolled it up and inserted it into the Dimensional Bracelet. Getting up from the seat, the boy drank the herbal tea with a single throat and began to tidy up the hardware on the table. Just as Julia was about to help him, Odo hit the girl's hand and stopped her.

“Master Odo ..”

“No need, let me just.”

“Uuuhh~!” Julia was a little hit because her duty as a servant was denied by her own master.

Instead of not cleaning Odo's desk, the Nekomata girl cleaned the bed and floor of the room. Because it was all not too dirty, Julia did not feel useful at all and still felt uncomfortable.

Out of the room, the boy who was always seen wearing a white shirt and black trousers was carrying a black box in his hand. The fist-sized iron box was a tool given by one of the A.I of the Moloia Kingdom the day after yesterday during the incident at the port.

Although Odo took the time to examine the object, he did not know how to use it at all. He only knows that it is a communication tool, but does not understand the concept of communication like what.

Walking down the hall and up to the terrace, they finally arrived at the front door of the workspace that is now used to calculate the payment of the debt of the territory by Mavis and Fiola. Opening the door without knocking, the boy immediately saw his mother and Fiola was working with a pile of documents.

“Hmm, Odo? What's coming here? Already miss Mother again?” mavis said cheerfully.

Hearing his mother's unusual way of speaking, Odo's eyebrows twitched. Her face looked reluctant and a little astonished to hear the aged person say in such a tone of a teenage girl. It's true that Mavis is ageless and still looks beautiful, but hearing that way of talking from her own mother makes Odo feel a little strange.

“Eh? Why is your face like that? Mommy thinks it's interesting, teenagers if you talk like that, ‘kan?”

“Who said that?”

“Fiola.”

“Hmm ...”

Odo stared flatly at Huli Jing who was sitting on the sofa sharply. Fiola immediately looked away, whistled small and pretended not to hear the conversation.

“Adolescents don't talk like. After all, I am also not yet a teenager,” Odo said as he walked in and sat on the sofa opposite Fiola. Julia followed the boy after closing the door, then stood behind the sofa the boy was sitting on.

“So, yes .... Mommy thinks it's popular ...”

“By the way, did Mommy already make a report letter to Dad about the problem?” ask Odo.

“Hmm, already. Letters about reports of assault and assassination plans have been sent to the capital. Linkaron and Xua Lin have already ordered you to send a letter. But, it looks like they just arrived at the Capital tomorrow. Drake they ride in condition is not prime, most likely will be a little long.”

“Mother, as long as it has been sent it does not matter,” said Odo while putting the black cube box onto the table.

Seeing what Odo was carrying, Fiola and Mavis looked puzzled. Julia who had realized that thing was starting to get curious again. Just as Fiola was about to pick up the thing, Odo hit his hand hard.

“Do not touch!”

“Eh ..?” Huli Jing was trembling to get snapped without that feeling.

“What is it, my son?” ask Mavis.

“I don't know either, Mother. This I got from one of the Moloias. I'm ma—!”

Before Odo finished his words, Mavis jumped from behind the desk and pulled the child's body from the seat. Fiola directly took the cube and threw it all the way to the corner of the room, while Julia quickly flipped the table and made it a shield for them to take cover.

“Eh?” Odo was at a loss to see what they were doing so quickly. “Why hide?” ask the child confused.

“Do you not know! Those things of the Moloia Kingdom were mostly exploding! Though there has just been a case of attempted murder, why do you make anxious just!” fiola said firmly.

“Already, Fiola ..” Mavis peeked out from behind the table that was made into a shield. Following him, the other two people also peeked in fear.

“Why are you guys, where might it explode.”

Odo immediately woke up and stopped hiding like a fool. Taking back the black box, he looked at those who were still hiding behind the table and only looked up at the nose.

“Why is Mother so afraid of things from Moloia? What's wrong?” ask Odo.

“The technology they use uses basic science and machinery. You know, my son. All magicians hate machines, even almost the entire population of Miquator do not like the tools of the kingdom of Moloia other than typewriters.”

“Ah, whatever. If Mommy and Fiola don't know this thing, I go first.”

“Wait Odo! Son ..., if you want to go put that down first. We'll throw it away.”

Hearing that Odo just stared flat at them. He began to understand his mother's hatred for the machine made Moloia Kingdom is very clear. In a world where almost everything has magic elements, such tools are very awkward, especially long-range weapons that cannot be detected by the Light Witch like Mavis though. Odo understands that fear, he will also feel the same if he does not know about guns and such.

“Fear of ignorance, yes. It turned out that mother had such a thing as well,” Odo's mind while smiling a little. Slightly tilting his head, he said, “Ogah.”

The boy ran away with the cube with him. Fiola and Julia had chased him around the Mansion several times. But being feared and threatened to throw the device at them, in the end the two men gave up and stopped chasing.
