Refusing Matchmaking
Chapter 18

"John," Lirih Laura very quietly and made John look directly at Laura.

"What's wrong?" Asked John who was refocusing on the streets ahead.

Laura sighed for a moment, "Your grandmother is so kind, don't you feel guilty lying to her like this? Why aren't you willing to accept the match she wants? It may be your grandmother's choice to be the best for you, " Laura said very carefully so as not to hurt the feelings of the man who is now beside her.

There was no reply from John, the man just shook his head as if to say that the man had no regrets about what he did with Laura who performed in front of Agatha as well as Robert.

It did not feel finally the luxury car that was driven by John and Laura had arrived right in front of the Laura apartment. And Laura was immediately ready to get off the car owned by John, not forgetting Laura gave a sweet smile to the man who became his pretend lover.

"Thank you for driving me home" Laura said, carrying her bag and preparing to get out of John's car.

John just nodded and smiled faintly, "Until we meet again later, there are still two more meetings and I will pay off all payments for you," Said John in a voice that sounded firm and made Laura nod as if she understood what John was saying.

Laura got out of the car and waited for John to leave. As John opened the window of his car, Laura immediately smiled and waved at John and made the man also return his smile in a very friendly manner.

Laura was still silent to see the direction of John's car that had been moving further and further away from his apartment, after he did not see John's car again he decided to go straight into his apartment with a pretty happy feeling because he could meet good people like John's family.

"There's a sudden job I have to finish tonight, too" Laura said, lying to her brother.

No more answers were heard from her brother, because it was common for Laura that her brother always spoke as necessary to her. And that was not a big deal for Laura, because she also realized that she did not care much about her brother's busyness.

Laura immediately stepped out her legs to go to her room and intended to rest faster. Laura felt her body was very tired even though at dinner with John's family he just sat back and did not do activities that sweat a lot.

John is now sitting on the sofa in his room, his feeling tonight is quite happy because what he has planned is working and running smoothly. Agatha and Robert looked very fond of Laura, as seen from the radiance of their eyes that greeted Laura with warmth.

John opened his phone and he looked through their photos at the cafe. Agatha asked him to take a picture together because for his grandmother the moment was very rare for them to do together. John also sighed and chose to lay his body on the soft bed in his luxury room.

"I hope grandma will stop setting me up because I've introduced Laura as my lover" Lirih John before deciding to close her eyes.
