Refusing Matchmaking

Refusing Matchmaking
Chapter 34

John had just arrived home, he saw his father and grandmother sitting on the sofa with faces that looked very upset and angry. John felt bad, and was also curious as to what exactly happened to the two people. John approached those who were still sitting on the sofa, John sitting beside his father.

John felt very scared as his father looked at him with a very sharp gaze. John thought something must be wrong at the moment, John's heart was pounding very fast differently than usual. He tried to take a long breath, and hoped there was nothing he did not want.

"Sir, dad are you all right? Why is it late at night like this you haven't rested?" John asked trying to smile and tried to calm his heart which was actually very nervous facing Agatha and also Robert.

John's heart felt like it had come to a standstill just like that when a slap landed on his white cheek. John was surprised by what his father did. Because as long as he lived and grew up with Robert, only this time he felt that his father was very angry and to slap him like just now.

"What's dad? Why did you slap me like this?" Ask John, to ascertain what reason Robert who had the heart to slap him like that.

Robert looked like he was controlling his emotions so as not to overdo his last child. "You can lie to us, John! Who taught you to dare to lie? What's our fault with you, John, until you do that!" Said Robert while holding back something that would immediately come out of his eyes. Robert still does not believe in the charade created by John and Laura.

John who listened to Robert's words immediately lowered his head, a feeling of guilt now haunted him. John was reminded of the advice that Laura always gave but he never heard once, until finally John is very sure if Agatha and Robert already know the relationship between himself and Laura is just a play.

"I'm sorry for lying to you. I'm doing this because I'm forced to" said John trying to defend himself.

Agatha got up from her seat, "For me to stop making you, right? You should be talking well instead of lying to me like this John!" Agatha stared intently at John's face, and made the man bow his head not daring to look at Agatha.

John ruffled his hair very roughly after seeing Agatha and Robert leave him alone. John seems very frustrated with the situation. What he had done turned out to be a boomerang for himself. Agatha and Robert were definitely very disappointed and hated her at this moment.

John thinks that if Laura were willing to marry him soon, maybe this wouldn't happen. And what makes John more confused, who told Agatha and Robert about the play along with Laura? Or did Laura tell you all that?

"Did Laura tell grandma and daddy?"
