Chapter 16

Laura did not answer at all about John asking her to be the man's real lover. Laura doesn't want her marriage to John to make her miserable instead of happy.

Laura's gaze was still on John who still seemed to hope that Laura would agree to what she had thought before. Laura looked at the man's face seriously, and thought of which way she might marry a man who likes to lie just for her own sake.

"You don't go crazy, John. I've guessed that one day your grandmother would ask us to get married, and it turned out that what I was thinking came true. Even if your grandmother betroths you to the woman of her choice, it means she wants the best for you. So you better tell grandma the truth, " Laura said with a serious look at John's handsome face.

John was silent at Laura's words and tried to lay his body on the sofa and began to close his eyes regardless of Laura's whereabouts. Laura who saw John like that was immediately upset and hit the man's body slowly but did not manage to wake him up at all.

It had been an hour before John fell asleep on Laura's couch, but the man still seemed comfortable with his dream without the slightest intention of waking up. Laura had tried several times to wake the man up but the result was nil, John was very difficult to wake up.

Laura looks very upset and frustrated with John, she is afraid that her brother will come home and see a man in this apartment. Laura was already very sure if she would run out in the hands of her own brother.

"Wake up! I don't want to when my brother comes home and sees that you're here!" Laura said as she shook the body of the man who was still asleep.

Laura shouted to John's name and forcefully pulled John's body which quickly opened his eyes with a face that looked very upset that Laura was bothering him as he fell into a deep sleep.

"You're a rude woman!" John said in a heavy voice and sounded a little annoyed that Laura was pulling him by force.

"At the same time you slept a long time. What if my brother sees you here? We're finished!" Said Laura who was getting anxious with John who seemed to not care about the fear felt by Laura.

John did not answer Laura's words at all, he just looked at the woman with his eyes that looked a little cute.

"I want to sleep here tonight with you Laura. I beg you just this once" said John, looking very pleading with Laura, and again making the woman upset and finally resigned.

Laura pointed at a door to a room that was none other than hers to John. She did not want her brother to see John fall asleep on the couch, so Laura asked John to sleep in her room so that she would be safe from her brother.

In Laura's room, John immediately laid his body on a soft bed and tried to close his eyes again.

"Who told you to sleep in my bed? You should sleep on John's couch!" Said Laura who began to raise her tone, but was not ignored by John at all.

"Sleep here with me. And I promise not to do anything to you" John said, staring at Laura's beautiful face with tenderness. John looks like he's coaxing his girlfriend to sleep together.

Laura snorted in annoyance and finally resigned to comply with John's request. He immediately laid his body on the same mattress as John but was given a bolster between them. Laura did not want anything unwanted to happen.

Laura grabbed her phone and opened a message sent by her sister. Laura smiles as she replies to the message and feels safe if John will not be caught by her brother. His sister conveyed the message that he would not return to where they lived because there was a very important affair that required him to go out of town.

"My brother called me if he's not coming home tonight. So I'd better sleep in my room" Laura said, removing a thick blanket from her body.

"No. You sleep here with me" said John, who sounded very spoiled to Laura.

Finally Laura resigned to save her phone and tried to close her eyes that actually Laura still did not feel sleepy. Laura no longer heard John's voice, and she saw that he was asleep. Laura looked at John's face, the man still looked very handsome despite being asleep like this. Without realizing it Laura immediately smiled to see the peace that emanated from John's face, not long later he chose to close his eyes hoping to sleep quietly beside John.

The next morning Laura woke up to the sunlight that had broken through the window of her room. And he immediately looked to the side and it turned out that John was no longer in the room. Laura sniffed in annoyance that John left without leaving a word to Laura.

Laura's gaze was now fixed on a piece of white paper that was on the brown table beside her bed. And Laura quickly grabbed and started reading the white paper.

You slacker you're a woman but can't get up early. Thank you for the time you have given me and for allowing me to sleep here. I left because there were so many patients waiting for me in the hospital. ~Jhon

Laura chuckles at the letter written by John, according to Laura, the longer John looks more pleasant than the beginning he met the man. Just imagining John's face this time makes Laura become misbehaved, especially if you have to meet the man.

"Why have I been thinking about him so much lately?" Laura asked in a voice that sounded a little soft, she tried to resuscitate herself not to expect John too much, even though John asked her to be willing to marry the man.

Laura thought that John was just selfish. What if Laura were to marry John and the man did not love her at all? Laura did not want that to happen at all, even if she had to marry John at least they were in love with each other in order to live happily in their future marriage.

Laura looked at herself through the mirror reflection in her room, she smiled looking at her who always looked perfect even though she had just recovered from illness. Laura intends to go shopping to dispel her thoughts about John and also about the wedding requested by Agatha.
