Ch. 193 City of the Dead part 2
Lord Rencong looks to scratch his head.
"What's uncle like being confused?" Suro saw Lord Rencong acting strangely as he stared at the passageway in front of them which was so dark.
"I want to see the contents inside this big hallway, but it's too dark. I wouldn't even be able to see my own finger, if I continued to move my foot in that direction."
"After uncle, maybe I can help him." Suro then fell silent.
A moment later from his body emanated a greenish light that was able to illuminate for more than seven steps around Suro. The light came from his kavacha armor.
Even as Suro started to enter the hallway, the light felt brighter than before. The light was able to illuminate like when Suro was in the library eyang Sindurogo.
"It's amazing what you're doing, boy, I didn't think you'd be able to do this. What exactly can you do? All the things you can do are not human?"
Suro only grinned at the words of Lord Rencong just now.
"Uncle so check into this hallway or just stand there?"
They then enter the hallway which is free enough to be able to enter while walking hand in hand. The entire structure of the building was formed from large stone piles. The condition reminds how to make a pyramid or a temple.
"By looking at the structure of this building I'm sure that what makes is not the creatures that we just met. Moreover, the giant statue that was along the road like showing someone who looks very much like us."
"What really happened to nature? It seems like there has been a mass extermination before this realm is filled with darkness." Lord Rencong muttered as he stared at the wall filled with certain symbols of some sort of pictorial writing.
"Then the creatures that we meet are from where uncle, if they are not the original inhabitants of this nature?" Suro who was beside Lord Rencong also spoke.
"Let's know my boy can't find the answer. It's really far beyond any depiction you've ever told me about nature."
"Suro also did not expect to find something as shocking as this uncle. Because that time we only entered in a fairly short time."
"Suro also does not think that in this nature there used to be residents. Although now there are also other residents who may come from the forces of darkness. But Suro agrees according to uncle's thinking, if this realm was once inhabited by creatures similar to ours."
They continued to investigate the dead city outside the fort. After investigating for quite a while, they were finally convinced, if ever, that the land was just like where they came from. They also believed that there were still many trees and animals. Even the animals in nature may not be the same. But with the relics that exist, they are quite sure, if the creatures that inhabit the nature is a nation of creatures that look like humans. All of that is destroyed as the coming of darkness that poisons nature.
They can find out about it, through statues and also after finding a picture of life at that time, through carvings carved in several places.
"As I thought before, by looking at the statue like a noble lined up along the way, I'm sure long ago this realm was inhabited by humans or something similar to us." Lord Rencong tried to make a summary of their findings quickly. Because they had to chase with time to be able to immediately find the Sword God and elder Dewi Anggini first.
"But from when did everything turn out like this, we haven't got the answer? Besides, whether or not there are still humans in this realm who managed to survive? But to get that answer is not an easy job." Lord Rencong stared at the building in front of those who had just entered.

Hearing the answer just now from Lord Rencong made Suro nod his head. They continued to walk among the ruins of buildings and statues along the road they passed.
"Wouldn't we just barge behind that wall right now, uncle?" Suro pointed towards the fortress that was far away. The fort seemed to be a barrier between the royal city with the core area of the dead city or from the royal palace area.
"Right, I think for now it's enough for us to investigate this dead city. Now's the time to investigate what's hidden behind that huge fortress?" The view of Lord Rencong focused towards the puff of smoke that soared high into the sky. Most likely the source of the smoke was behind the fort.
They then darted quickly upwards from the side of the tip that had no guards. If the guards had seen, then they seemed to see only a flash of shadow. Because they both move very fast.
After reaching behind the wall they immediately hid among the ruins of the building. Behind the fortress, there was another city that was more magnificent than before. The shape of the building is also different. Because all existing buildings have domes, pillars and the shape is mostly terraced.
Back they were made amazed and the shape and size of the existing building. The building that stood so densely packed in that place, that there was almost no empty land. There is even a bridge that connects one building with another.
Suro was stunned by the shape of such a large building. For the building they were hiding in stood supported by huge pillars towering over two spears.
The whole building was made of white marble. The center of the entire building was on a most magnificent building as if it were a castle. The building also features a towering fortress. From the building is the darkness that comes.
Several times they had to hide because of the creatures whose feet were like birds walking near them.
They continued to infiltrate to reach the grandest building in the middle. They intend to investigate the darkness that came out of the main dome in the middle of the castle.
"What's really in that place?" Lord Rencong stared at the tall building from afar.
Just as they were about to continue their steps more than three dozen creatures that had bat-like wings came back. Their arrival this time was a bit different from before, because on each shoulder it looks to be carrying a human body.
They landed inside the most magnificent building among all those places. The building that has a large dome with a beam of darkness rises soaring high up to the sky.
"Why did they bring the human body to this place?" Lord Rencong was shocked by what he saw.
"Is it possible that they were made into collateral, uncle? Or is their body made into a rhino or a place to hold the power of darkness, as Bhuta did at that time?"
"It's exactly what you said boy. It could be that all those half-human beings, were originally human."
"To prove that Suro would suck the power of one of those creatures." Suro looked at Lord Rencong for approval.
