Keep Distance

"What about my mom during my stay in the apartment?"

Randu asked after Mira had returned to his current settled state. She was unable to visit Aileen at the apartment when her mother forced her to stay for work reasons.

"Mama, hmm .. means Aunt Mira is a good person. During the stay he was so attentive to me. Aunty Mira also told many stories about Sister when she was a child!" Aileen chuckled after saying that.

She had already finished folding her clothes and put them in the closet. "But why do you look so anxious? Did something happen?"

Randu heaved a sigh of relief hearing Aileen's words. His thoughts about Mira who could have said something bad to Aileen did not happen.

"Sister, why silence? Brother really has a problem?" Aileen sat beside Randu, cupped her face and looked at each other.

"No. Just feeling a little scared when Mom does something bad. I know my mom, she's the one who will do anything to get her way!"

"For instance?" Aileen did not understand what Randu said just now. He put his hands away.

"Did mom say anything other than telling me about me?"

Randu watched Aileen who seemed to be thinking. "Ada?"

"So. Never mind, I'm going to the bathroom first!" Aileen gushed leaving Randu who was still fixated waiting for a response.

"Surely Mama didn't say anything. It's so weird."

"Wouldn't you go home?" asked Aileen who had just joined Randu in the dining room. She sat in the front seat of Randu, watching her husband's serious face with a cell phone and coffee in each hand.

Randu raised his face, looking at Aileen in wonder. "Do you want me to come home soon?"

Aileen just shrugged her shoulders. As if it did not matter if indeed Randu really went home. "I'm just asking. Ms Amee is still recovering. Pity him if he's home alone!"

Aileen picked up the fried banana she had made before returning to her own home.

Randu put down his coffee cup and cell phone. He stared at the astonished Aileen who looked different than usual. "Are you hiding something?"

"About?" Aileen's forehead wrinkled with a questionable look to Randu. He went back to chewing his fried banana.

"You're acting weird. You seem to be keeping your distance from me. You even so casually said about going home and Amee."

"The weird sister. I'm just plain ordinary. Besides what Aunt Mira said was true, I should have been ...." Aileen instantly fell silent and looked at Randu anxiously. He got up and hurriedly walked back to the room. However, before he closed the door, Randu had already managed to catch up and hold the door so as not to be able to close with his feet.

"Let's talk. Don't leave until you've said that. There's something you're hiding!" Pandu looked at him sharply.

"Sister!" Aileen relented, she sighed then nodded. He followed Randu back to the dining room.

"I'll make milk for you first. Wait up!"

"Yes!"

Randu carefully made milk for Aileen, while Aileen continued to pay attention to Randu. He smiled happily, though he ended up with a rough puff of breath.

"Thank you, brother!" He received a glass of milk from Randu. The man sat in his place again, watching Aileen who was drinking her milk slowly until it was gone were not left.

Aileen no longer looked surprised at that moment. He was already shocked by Mira's words and after hearing it back from Randu, he only repeatedly let out a rough breath.

"Aileen, did mom ask you to stay away from me?" Randu touched the back of Aileen's hand and made the woman who had originally lowered her head, look at her pushyly.

"Sister, what Aunt Mira said is true."

Randu raised his eyebrows then rubbed the back of Aileen's hand. Aileen looked at what Randu was doing and looked back at him. "Tante told me about the boundaries between me, Brother Randu, and Ms. Amee. Aunt asked me not to be a greedy woman. He asked me to disconnect the nature and bad behavior that my real mama could have put down for me!"

Aileen sighed softly. Sandu was still listening. "I don't know, Aunt Mira found out that I was greedy at first. I want to stay by our brother and son's side! Makes Brother finally just look at me and forget about Ma'am Amee!" Aileen chuckled at the surprised reaction of Randu.

"But, Brother don't worry. I'm self-conscious. I will keep our marriage contract. I'll leave after giving birth and start a new life." Aileen pulled her hand and went into the kitchen carrying her used milk glass.

Randu continued to watch Aileen's fragile-looking back from behind.

"It's night. Better brother go home! I'm going to sleep now!" Aileen passed from the sight of Randu who was just silent without saying anything after that.

The man was still sitting quietly in his place with a muddled mind. Her phone kept ringing because Amee called her no heed.

The man chose to leave the apartment after two hours of sitting without doing anything.

Hearing the sound of the door closing, Aileen walked out of her room. He returned to the dining room and saw the coffee cup that Randu had left on the table.

"Heem. Sorry, Sis. Aunt Mira was right, I should have been aware of the restrictions. Enough to make memories with Big Brother some time ago. I have to start learning to forget you!"

Aileen chose to sit on the chair that had been the seat of Randu. He held the cup that had been filled with the toilet. Raise it and bring the cup's lips closer to hers.

"Go as far as possible. Although I like you more than my own daughter-in-law, but I will never agree that you are ruining their relationship. Just be nice by going, don't be like your parents!"

Mira did not say bad things like Sika. Mira and Sika are completely different. However, Mira's words were emotionless which eventually made her aware. If, he shouldn't be greedy. His decision to leave was right.

"But, what is Ma'am Amee's relationship with Kak Seto?" Suddenly she recalled Amee's conversation with someone on the phone who she believed was Seto.

About Amee who feels uncomfortable with Randu.

"Don't think badly of him! Amee's the only one who cares about you, right, Aileen!"

His gaze was fixed on the cup. He then took his phone and photographed himself with the cup. "Silly, a really weird memento."

Aileen chuckled after seeing the results. It was not a picture of her that she took, but just her hand and the cup.

Aileen chose to wash the dirty cup, she washed it carefully. Like a precious thing. "Maybe after this he will think twice about coming here again after what I said."

Aileen turned off the lights and was about to return to her room. However, his steps came to a halt when he heard the sound of someone knocking on the door.

Aileen glanced at the wall clock that was already showing the number twelve nights. It's too late for someone to visit. However, he believed that the knock was on the door of his apartment. Curiosity overcame her fear which made her choose to dare to open it.

"Aileen!"

Aileen took a step back with a surprised look at the man before her in a battered state. The man fell down and hugged her before fainting.
