Tama And Ratna

Tama And Ratna
119. Go With Calm

“Aksara!!” Shouted Tama saw his son already lying with a bullet in the back.

“You! Fucking devil!” Tama immediately ran closer towards Sindy. Sindy once again shoots a bullet at her own head but is thwarted by Tama who throws her gun and hits Sindy's arm making her shot miss. With an instant he was able to lock Sindy's hand and beat her up. Some personnel tried to calm their commanders while the rest fled Aksara immediately to the hospital.

Ratna who knew the condition of her son immediately broke into the ambulance and went to the hospital. He still had time to see Aksa looking at him, but that gaze felt empty.

“Aksa darling, hold nak. Arrive soon. Mother promises Mother will eliminate her pain from you. Do you believe in Mother? Mother will heal Aksara. After this Mother promises Mother will always be the same Aksara. Mother will not stay again. Mother loves the same Aksara, Daddy also loves you. Do not stayin Mommy nak Mommy needs you, Mommy does not want to lose you,” Ratna said while pressing the wound on her son's back.

Arriving at the hospital, there are already Jay, Theo, and Dipta who stand by. They all helped Ratna do all they could to save Aksara who had already closed her eyes.

“Her heart rate slowed,” Jay said.

“I set up operating room,” said Dipta then ran out.

“Nita, accelerate the transfusion. The bleeding has not stopped,” Theo said checking the wound on his nephew's small back. Their coats were already stained with blood, yet no one cared. Especially Ratna whose clothes are all dirty. Tama only came when Aksa had entered the operating room. Tama only saw Ratna silent like without a life in front of the door while continuing to stare softly inward.

“Mother..,”

“Dad...,” Ratna immediately cried when Tama came and immediately hugged her tightly.

About 5 hours later, Jay and Theo walked slowly with a look so sad that they were even less likely to hold back their tears. Severely forced, Jay announces the unsuccessful death of Aditama Aksara Langit against his pain. Immediately Ratna immediately showered Jay and Theo with punches and slaps. He continued to protest at his two best friends because he considered not to be working.

Tama did try to hold Ratna, but both of her hands also had no power. Ratna continued to fumble until finally she fell unconscious making Tama finally cry too.

Sindy may have been captured with her men. But is Tama proud of her? Not at all. In this case, after she tried to strengthen herself to stand up again, the universe denied her by taking away her two favorite people.

...***...

The Tama residence was immediately crowded with mourners and relatives. Tama continued to try hard to greet every mourner who came. To his left was Ratna who kept silently staring at his son's corpse. Ratna even continued to hug the photo of Aksa they took on her third birthday a few months ago. Aksa looks dashing with a mini police uniform complete with blue berets like his father's. In the photo Aksara smiled so sweetly. Although Ratna could still catch a glimpse of Aksa's smile on her face at the moment but it was all unable to make her happy.

Ratna continued to wail and fell unconscious several times. He had not eaten, drank or even talked all night. Not only Father and Mother who failed to persuade Ratna, even Sasa and Nata were all pushed aside by him. Tama did not seem willing to force Ratna, if his wife fell unconscious again he also did not try to wake her. He would only sustain his wife's body without any effort to calm down.

"Shtt.., strong Ma. Strengthen yes, for the sake of Mbak Ratna and Bang Tama," said Gandhi to appease his wife.

"Mbak Sasa..," Nata came to his middle brother then hugged him while continuing to hold back the cries. He muffled his brother's cry so as not to sound out.

As the last will, Mama had expressed to Teh Rizka who asked for her body buried in a burrow with her husband. Teh Rizka and Bang Zaki then told Mr. Yatna who coordinated the funeral representing Tama who was not able to do much.

"Yes, Sister Diana and Aksara will be buried close to the deceased" said the father.

"Then what if we just buried him, sir? Poor Tama and Ratna continued to lament so," said Bang Zaki.

"Will Diana's side have no more brothers to attend?"

"No sir, my brother is just my father and his family has been present all here Sir," said Teh Rizka.

He then asked Tama and Ratna for permission to bury Aksara and her grandmother. Beyond a doubt, Tama was able to endure her grief for a moment. He even requested that he alone carry Aksa to his final resting place. While in front there is the coffin of his mother raised by Bang Zaki who assisted Nata, Gandhi, and some neighbors.

In honor of the service of both, Commander Novan who now serves as Dansat Brimob gives command to all members present to respect with perfect attitude when sending the body that began to descend into the pit.

Ratna is there, she is still quiet to pray for her mother-in-law and her son who died in a police operation led by Tama. It was very different at home. He could be so tough seeing his son start to get covered in dirt. He was even able to lay a wreath on Aksa's still-wet bellybutton. Tama saw it, and of the many mourners who went to the cemetery maybe only he was able to catch how broken his wife was.

Not only was Ratna destroyed, Tama was even more crushed. In addition to losing her mother and son, Tama also lost a smile on his wife's face. He lost half his life at one time. Tama approached his silent wife staring at the tombstone bearing her son's name there. "Aditama Aksara Langit Bin Pratama Aji Saputra". Seeing his own name engraved on the tombstone made his heart seem to be pierced by thousands of thorns. Never could she have imagined that she would put that name on her children in this painful way.

"Mother..," Tama tried to grab Ratna's hand and hugged her. Ratna did not retaliate, only her endless tears flowed back with the drizzling rain that began to melt.

"Tama, Ratna, the rain has started to pour. We go home, yes" persuaded Mother.

With a heavy heart Tama and Ratna left the funeral, letting the son quietly fall asleep next to his grandmother and grandfather. Reclaiming Aditama Aksara Langit which did not even reach the age of 4 years had to go home, joined Aditama Daughter of his older sister who also died in the duties of the Father.
