The Cold Blooded Hunter: Seeker of Peace

The Cold Blooded Hunter: Seeker of Peace
16. For the time being...

"Well, I'm tired..." My grandfather dropped himself on a long seat while exhaling a sigh of relief.

"Stopping a lot of Monsters at this age is really fun..." My grandfather took the available water on the table.

We sat around a table on the second floor, in the room my grandfather called the chairman of the Hunter organization.

The room was already empty and there were two tables, one called a work desk and one table to relax. We sat down on the chairs for the table to relax.

"Actually, how can grandfather stay healthy in this old grandfather's age?" I asked as I glanced at the sword sheathed next to him.

My grandfather stood up and took off his long black coat and said, "Only a healthy lifestyle and always moving actively, that's the secret grandfather can survive until the age of seventy-four years."

Actually, I'm a little worried about my grandfather. He said he was seventy-four years old, but his physique was like my father before he died.

Dusk just kept quiet while staring at my grandfather with a curious look. Well, I think it's only natural because my grandfather looks mysterious in his eyes...

"So, you haven't told me how you can survive in this Monster-ridden city..." My grandfather put on a serious face, "At least a quarter of the Monsters around the SuraBaya headquarters have already been killed, so there must still be a lot out there..."

Me and Dusk exchanged lyrics before I told him everything, starting from the loud noise and vibrations in the morning two days ago, about me who managed to survive from being hit by a tree, met Dusk, and then I got to meet Dusk, staying in a house with him, meeting Christo yesterday morning, Christo's fight against the same Monster that my grandfather fought, until we ended up in this base and met my grandfather.

My grandfather took it seriously and when the story reached the part where I found the article about him, he asked me to stop for a moment before continuing.

When he asked me to stop, he looked a little sad and I was sure that the reason was because his son, who was my father, died for unknown reasons.

I only knew that part of a sound of something falling was heard in my house and so on, I didn't see my father so I concluded that my father was dead.

"So, with what tricks can you dare to fight against Monsters?" Ask grandpa.

I also explained that everything felt natural, I didn't realize that I dared to fight Monsters.

I didn't tell her about some of the moves that came to my mind out of fear, my grandfather didn't believe my story.

"Naturally, huh?" My grandfather sighed, looking like he was disappointed with my answer, "Well, is there anything you want to say?"

I shook my head and said, "I don't want to say anything, but I want to know about the world..."

***

For a while, my grandfather would stay in that base, guarding me and Dusk from the Monsters.

According to him, the headquarters was surrounded by many powerful Monsters and in that city right now, the only ones who could deal with those Monsters were my grandfather.

Oh yes, after our talk about the world, I am currently asking my grandfather to open the door to my father's office.

According to the note my father left me yesterday, my father kept his firearm in my father's study in the Storage Room. Unique workspace location, right?

My grandfather responded and right now, we are standing in front of a door made of metal and closed and locked.

The locked door was what prevented me from finding my father's firearm. Understandably, I couldn't find the key even after going around looking for it throughout the headquarters.

The door was cross-slashed and its slash marks were like traces being slashed with fire.

"Wow..." Dusk still could not believe that right now, in front of him right now was the strongest S rank Hunter of his time, which was my grandfather.

Since just now, he was stunned to see the action of my grandfather, even at this time, he opened his mouth wide, so I was worried that mosquitoes could enter his mouth so wide he opened his mouth.

My grandfather lifted his leg and kicked the metal door until it fell inside.

We went in and when we saw the whole room, there was only one word that came to judge the room...

"Their frame..."

Well, one desk and chair at the end of the room, two wide sofas and one table on which there is a small flower pot, a large cupboard full of books, and one table on which there is a small flower pot, and a glass cabinet containing the most unique weapon my grandfather had ever seen in his lifetime, he said.

We walked around the room searching the room, I don't know what the purpose was, but my grandfather told him to, so me and Dusk couldn't argue.

While my grandfather, he walked to the glass cabinet where the unique weapon was stored then pulled his sword.

"The sky, I think Taru's weapon is this sharp glove..." My grandfather then closed his eyes, "Freedom to Split Heaven..."

Well, during these two days, I saw Christo and my grandfather saying words that I had a hard time referring to as sentences. My grandfather had not offended that before, so I planned to ask him if we had already managed to get my father's claw which I remembered as the Fire Chicken Claw.

My grandfather slashed the glass cabinet with his katana and when he saw it, I remembered my mother cutting tofu with a knife. Are all Hunters that strong? Until it can cut the glass cabinet with ordinary slashes, no, slashes done with firearms?

My grandfather hit the glass cabinet that had been cut in half and then pulled out two iron gloves whose ten fingertips were sharp. My grandfather brought the gloves in front of me.

"The sky, this is the Claw of the Fire Rooster, the claw that made your father famous..." My grandfather gave one to me and the other to hold it, "Grandfather borrow one first..."

I received the iron glove and upon receiving it, I could feel the weight that the glove had.

"Light?" I was a little surprised. Though I thought that the firearm is heavy because it has some complicated parts in it, it turns out oh it turns out... The weight is not what I thought.

My grandfather researched the gloves and then put them on. I saw that the gloves were suitable for my grandfather.

"Hmm, Taru is also smart in designing weapons, even though I have nothing to teach him the science of designing like this..." My grandfather muttered, but I can still hear it.

"Well, now we try the full power of these claws..." My grandfather pressed a button and when pressed, the five ends of the glove changed color from dark red to bright red, to a long-heated iron color.

"The mechanism is different from firearms in general, but I can tell that these claws are very strong..." My grandfather moved his fingers, "Ah, a little stiff..."

I don't know which one my grandfather meant to be stiff, whether his own finger or his iron sheath fingers, but to be sure, the movements of his fingers were slowly getting stiff and difficult to move freely.

"Damn it, the joints are rusting, when the firearm should not be rusting. How did Taru take care of the weapon anyway?!"

"Eh?"
