The Duke's Substitute Wife

The Duke's Substitute Wife
Don't want to get involved

"Where are you from?" the words made Viola freeze as his feet were about to climb the stairs. Viola turned his body around, he didn't want to fight or anything. Because today the mood is good and does not want to ruin it.

"I came from the capital" he said.

Duke Cristin stood up, he headed towards the nervous looking Viola.

"What time it is, but you've just come home." Duke Cristin regulated his breathing many times. He did not want to scold Viola. He will advise Viola gently. Given her bar-baric demeanor, scolding Viola would not help her. It will make things worse.

Viola felt astonished, it was not usual for Duke Cristin not to scold him. Usually he would let out all of his anger, as if wanting to devour him alive.

"Tumben was not angry," muttered Viola but was able to be listened to by Duke Cristin.

Hearing Viola's words, Duke Cristin threw out a rough breath. "It's just that I scold you. Must be the end of the fight. You've turned Viola" Duke Cristin rubbed the soft tip of Viola's head. " I'm waiting for you in the dining room" Duke Cristin said as he walked away to the dining room.

Viola palpated at the top of his head, then looked at that back. "It's weird for him" he said again.

Viola climbed the stairs, arriving at his room. Viola immediately cleaned himself up, then went down using his nightgown to the dining room.

"Madam, it seems like His Highness the Duke is starting to like the mistress" Mira said making Viola think for a moment.

"No way, her heart belongs only to Abella. Don't make it up" Viola said, not taking Mira's thoughts for granted. According to him, there was no way Duke Cristin would want to be with him. Anyway, he won't be dizzy. He only thought about leaving, he could not wait to leave this house and travel around the world.

"Madam" said Flora, seeing Viola smiling to herself.

"Ah, just bother." said Viola annoyed. Because he was imagining being on a stretch of grass off while continuing his footsteps.

Arriving at the dining room, Flora and Viola opened the door. Viola headed for the chair pulled by the butler. "Please madam."he said.

Duke Cristin looked towards Viola who was sitting beside him. Viola took the vegetables and shrimp that were not far from his place. Duke Cristin took the roast. Then cut it off and give it to the Viola plate.

Viola didn't care about it, he took his spoon and fork. Eat it with gourd. Actually, he had eaten, but seeing the dish, he was hungry again.

"Eat a lot." Duke Cristin cut back the roast in small pieces.

"Don't pay attention like that, I'm not a kid anymore." Viola thrust the food on the spoon into his mouth while glancing at Duke Cristin. He doesn't like to be noticed that way.

"Is it my fault I paid attention to you?" asked Duke Cristin while putting some roast meat that had been cut into small pieces.

"Wrongly, I don't want to get involved with your life."

Duke Cristin stopped cutting the roast. "I'm your husband, it's not wrong if you're involved in my life."

"Being an unsuspecting wife, being a neglected wife. I think that's enough. There's nothing more to discuss." Viola said without looking at her.

"And forever it won't change" he continued, his eyes returning Duke Cristin's gaze.

Duke Cristin was unable to say anything more. The Viola is now like a rose. Smell and beautiful yet thorny. He looked at Viola with a difficult look. He wondered why Viola had changed and what caused it. He had to ask Flora.

Duke Cristin hurried away, he had no more taste. Viola's words always brought up his past mistakes. Arriving at the door. Duke Cristin looked towards the Knight.

"Call servant Flora, I want to talk to her." Duke Cristin ordered firmly.

"Your Majesty the Duke."

The knight nodded respectfully, following the master's orders.
