Chapter 44

Many people had gathered in the town square. They read and saw a large poster featuring some of the people considered criminals by the royal side. There are also written information about physical characteristics and sacred animals owned by the criminal.

"Well, apparently there was a strong woman who dared to fight the kingdom" said one of the men standing in front of the notice board.

The boos of the townspeople who were amazed at the bravery of the people on the poster instantly fell silent as a commander stood there.

"To all the citizens of Metropolis, any one of you, if you see these people, must report. If, you deliberately hide or pretend not to know, then the hanging penalty awaits you. Understand!" shouted the man in the parajurit uniform.

The townspeople gathered were visibly upset and stared hatefully at the man standing in front.

Rico and his friends managed to sneak to the front of the line. How surprised they were when they saw his face clearly plastered on a large poster. Directly they cover the face by using a hoodie or cloth cover part of the face. Then, they quietly left the crowd.

They walked quickly towards an alley where there was no one. They had to hide for a while for the safety of everyone.

"How is this?" ask Rico to the others. He was sure that a foreign face would be very easily recognized by most people.

"We use face-changing magic" Kiril said, giving an idea.

"Yes, it's the only thing we can get out of this city" Miron continued, nodding his head.

"I can't do that magic" Rico said honestly. 

"I'll teach you the spell. You can do it fast" replied Miron. He had been a teacher and colleague of Rico in studying and studying witchcraft in the land of Eleanor.

Axel whispered to Kelly, afraid that her lover could not change her face. It turned out that the woman couldn't magic that either. So the young man offered to teach him.

Now Rico is studying with Miron while Kelly is being taught by Aksel. Meanwhile, Kiril who had already changed his face with the others, went to find lodging for them to sleep at night.

Rico and Kelly can't change their faces. There is only the original part that does not change. Or they change for just a few seconds and will return to their original form.

"When magic changes the face more easily than magic changes the form" Miron told the two people who still did not master the magic.

"Yey, I can last more than five minutes!" exclaim Kelly girang. The woman immediately hugged the body of the lover.

Rico again focused mana and magic spells. He should be able to control as much as what it takes to change his face. If, the lack then the face only partially can be changed. Likewise, if the mana is too much, then it will be most parts on the face. Rico's mouth was two. Or his eyes become four.

"Good, keep it as long as you can" Miron said.

After a long day of studying the science of changing faces, he was finally able to keep his new face for as long as he wanted. They also went to the inn that Kiril had rented. They had to eat to replenish the energy used up for the magic practice earlier.

As they ate, the people there were talking about the rebels who were fugitives. Many residents of the city hope that the city of Metropolis is not visited by Rico and his friends.

"I don't want to be a traitor to the hero of this country. I hope they will overthrow the King of Kiril" said the strong-bodied man.

"Do you know about the prophecy of a boy who will give victory in this land?" ask old old men.

"It's just a fairytale" replied the young man sitting at his side table.

"You're wrong, young man. The prophecy exists and at this time the person with the power of the hand of the god will free this land from misery" the old grandfathers said.

Rico and the others just quietly listened to the chatter of the people who were there. They also hoped that King Didio would be defeated soon.

When they were enjoying then the night, suddenly a horde of soldiers came there. Of course this makes people who are enjoying a period of calm and rest, panic made.

"We heard that there's a rebel group here!" shouted one of the soldiers.
