The Legendary Farmer's

The Legendary Farmer's
Chapter 1 - Zerenian

Paijo rubbed his left wrist brutally until his skin flushed red and a sense of heat wriggled there. His eyes were sharp, closely watching the line of numbers near his veins expectantly.

"Come on! Gone up!"

Thirteen days have passed since the mysterious incident hit Paijo. Black smoke that came out of nowhere suddenly appeared and smothered the left hand of the seventeen-year-old boy and made a sign in the form of a line of black numbers that continued to change.

Everyone knows the sign. Nah! Not only know, but also understand the meaning of every number that has long been a frightening specter in the entire world. The number consists of eight numbers. The first two numbers indicate the number of days remaining, which of course originally amounted to fourteen. The second to fourth two numbers indicate hours, minutes and seconds.

"Twenty-three hours, fifty-five minutes, thirty seconds." Paijo read the mark on his wrist casually.

If anyone is paying attention, surely the person will consider Paijo crazy. The reason was of course because of his expression that was filled with joy. An expression that should not be shown to anyone who has been marked given their scheduled death.

Death! Yep! That is what every sign owner will face. For now, only one word can describe the end of their lives. When the mark shows the zeros in each digit, they disappear from the world. That's what happened hundreds of years ago.

"Do I have to be happy or worried when I see you like that?" a familiar voice caught Paijo's attention.

Paijo's smile widened when he found a girl his age had just sat next to him. His name was Intan Rogomulyojoyo, the only friend who never judged Paijo in any way. A beautiful girl with an angelic personality. A son of the richest man in the world.

"Hi." Sapa Paijo friendly. "You're not alone, are you coming here?"

"No. I'm with them." Intan turned his head towards the road that divides the rice fields.

In the distance, precisely on the shoulder of the paved road parked a white sports car. In front and behind each lined three black SUV cars. The black-clad figures stood around the iron horses. They are Intan's personal bodyguards.

It is only natural that Paijo ascertains the existence of the private guards of the Rogomulyojoyo family whether there are around or not. The reason was definitely because Intan's safety was in their hands.

Intan once went to see Paijo alone and ended up in the hospital in critical condition because there was a hitman who managed to put a dagger into his stomach. From then on Paijo never forgets to make sure Intan's bodyguards are around.

As the most successful person in the world and the abundance of wealth owned, many intend to bring down the Rogomulyojoyo family. Whether it's from a business competitor or a big-time criminal who intends to master a small fortune. That is why the life of every member of the Rogomulyajoyo family will always be threatened. Not except Intan.

"I'm sure you'll be a great man there." There is no doubt of any Intan speech. His words slid smoothly from the base of his throat.

Paijo who had heard Intan's chatter so often just now could only widen his smile and reply lightly, "It seems like you still believe the rumors."

There is a rumor that the people who disappeared were actually transferred to another world by an almighty force and forced to live a new life there. The rumor is indeed just a mere rumor that was actually spoken first by a mental disorder sufferer. But somehow people prefer it as a truth in order to motivate the recipients of the sign and for themselves. If you think about it, the rumor is indeed better than a word 'death'.

"It is better to think that way than to lament destiny. Aye right?"

Although he smiled and Intan's expression was filled with joy, Paijo realized that the figure next to him was just pretending that everything would be fine. Not wanting to spoil the atmosphere, Paijo chose to serve the conversation and be relaxed.

"Yes. Youre right. I also hope that in the new world will get a great power that can not be defeated by anyone like in the reincarnation-themed novels that we often read lately. Or maybe I will be transferred to a fantasy world like the ones in VRMMORPG games, and I will be the strongest there is. Be the only ruler."

"I'm sure you can be like that in your new world later. Wh why? Because you're a genius."

Paijo was confused as to what to comment. However, Intan's statement just now was a compliment that should not be given to her. I don't know which side Intan is judging that. If from the value rating, Paijo is indeed better than Intan. But Intan will always be below him. In other words Intan is no less genius than Paijo. However, Intan still never considered himself as genius Paijo. Even he always makes comparisons between Paijo and his father, if they were born on the same day and are at the same economic level, it can be ascertained if Paijo who will be the richest person in the world.

Paijo did not deny part of Intan's thinking. Paijo was born into a family of farmers. Since childhood, he has struggled with what is called poverty. Although always on the brink of hunger, Paijo is indeed a clever child. From SD to first-class High School he always ranked first in his country. While in the second order of course Intan.

Intan's reason never equated his genius with Paijo's because he realized that Paijo's life was not comparable to his own whose needs were always met and at the best level. While Paijo is just a child from a family that is in short supply. Even since entering SD Paijo must sell anything to help his family's finances because both parents began to get sickly. In fact, he was forced to leave High School because the condition of his parents was getting worse. Paijo has to work harder than anyone. In addition to caring for his parents, Paijo also had to replace their position as a farmer and cultivate many hectares of rice fields inherited from his grandfather.

Upon learning that one of his country's genius children was about to drop out of school, the government quickly offered Paijo a scholarship. But Paijo quickly refused. Receiving the scholarship means that Paijo has to leave both his parents and live in a dormitory. It is the same as letting his parents wallow in suffering.

It is true that the government promised to take care of Paijo's parents. But Paijo will not allow that to happen given that not everyone will be kind to poor people like his family. For this reason, Paijo finally gave up a future that was certain to be as bright as the sun and preferred to care for his parents who had given birth and raised him with affection.

"Genius! It seems like for less than a day I will agree with you. I am the most beautiful man in this country."

"Yes. The genius who would become the strongest in the other world."

-----@@-----

"One more minute" said Paijo casually.

There was no fear on Paijo's face. Weirdo? This is very strange for anyone who sees it. It is even certain that Paijo will be considered as a mental hospital patient who fled because he felt happy in the last seconds of his life.

If Paijo knew what people were thinking of him now, the white teenager would gladly respond and justify what was in their brains. Yep. Paijo was happy. Not because his life will end, but because soon he will meet his parents who first tread the afterlife. However, Paijo felt very lost when death approached his parents.

"I'm sorry, Intan. I have to do this myself. I don't want you to witness my death."

Paijo deliberately left home in the early hours of the morning. He was sure Intan would force his way along until the very last moment. And Paijo's guess is right. He found Intan's car and his bodyguards parked some distance from his house. Even some of his bodyguards were seen watching Paijo's house from a distance. But luck still sided with Paijo. By sneaking around and taking advantage of the fairly dense darkness Paijo managed to leave without anyone knowing and is now standing on the edge of the cliff. In front of him lay the ocean.

"It's time!"

The mark on Paijo's wrist had shown a zero in each of his digits. Not long after, black smoke came out of it. Little by little wrapped Paijo's hand and constantly propagated throughout the body. Paijo closed his eyes as the smoke passed through his neck and prepared to endure the pain as it had once smothered him when he first received the mark.

A minute passed. Two minutes, three minutes and other minutes also passed. There was not the slightest pain stabbing Paijo. Not a single change was felt within him. Paijo began to feel a sense of strangeness. In addition to nothing disturbing, he also no longer heard the waves that should have controlled the place where Paijo was before. Wind gusts were also no longer felt around him, as well as his whistling which was now silent. Curious, Paijo opened his eyes.

"Where is this?" Paijo was surprised and confused by what was caught by his eyes.

Slowly Paijo looked around. Now Paijo is in a cuboid room with walls, ceilings and floors in white. There's no one else here but him. There was nothing in this place other than a table that was also white on one side of the room. On it perched a pair of glasses made entirely of transparent material and a small box.

"Welcome home." Suddenly a soft voice echoed.

Spontaneously, Paijo turned around and looked for the existence of a figure who suddenly made a sound. But Paijo found no one. He was the only one in the room like before.

"Who are you? Show yourself! "

"Close to the table!" The voice was heard again.

Paijo's expression turned sour as it felt ignored. Although the anger had exploded, Paijo held it back. The reason is of course for his own safety. According to him, in a foreign place like this is not the right place to act as if you have the right to speak. Paijo realized here he was nobody. You could even say he was a prisoner whose life had just been gripped. By who? Of course by the owner of the voice that just echoed in his ear. The best thing to do now is to obey.

"Use the glasses in front of you!" The command of the mysterious voice for the second time as Paijo's steps stopped in front of the table.

Without a second thought Paijo took the object in question a mysterious voice and put it on. Not long after the glasses immediately wriggled. Each section is widened to wrap the entire head of Paijo.

Paijo who never thought about what just happened can only panic and try to remove the object in his head. But his efforts were in vain. His fingers repeatedly slipped on the surface of the object which now looks more like a transparent mask.

A second later, the pain exploded all over the teenager's head. Incision by incision felt to tear his brain. Puncture after stab blasts down without mercy. Paijo shouted as loud as he could to voice the enormity of the pain in the head. His body rolled on the floor. His hands clasped tightly against his head as if trying to reach the pain that continued to craze for more than a minute.

"Its implant is successful." The voice was heard again.

The pain in Paijo's head slowly subsided until it finally disappeared completely. Paijo's body lay limp on the floor. His breath was hunting and his dim view was highlighted to the ceiling. The object that previously smothered every corner of Paijo's head slowly returned to its original shape. Drowning Paijo grabbed the glasses and threw them on the floor. Sweat flooded Paijo's face and soaked his hair.

"Now stick the object in the box to the mark on the wrist."

Again the sound returned. Still with a commanding tone and of course did not accept any rebuttal. Paijo who had understood it from the beginning rushed to his feet and came back to the table with a stagger. His hand also immediately grabbed the box that was still perched in its place and opened it. A plate measuring three times four centimeters was stored inside. Without any hesitation and intention to ask anything, Paijo immediately placed the white object on the mark on the wrist. Unexpected things happen again. The plate immediately sticks to the skin and widens to form a shape resembling a bracelet with a width of three centimeters. This time it didn't hurt a bit.

"Synchronization complete! Please pass through the portal across the room. Good luck, Zerenian!"

"Zerenians? So you call us that, huh? Looks like it's gonna be interesting."

Paijo turned around, staring intently at a black smoke that kept spinning until it formed a circle. Its constant movement makes the smoke look like a whirlpool. Without any doubt Paijo approached the portal and prepared to enter it. Ready to uncover all the mysteries behind it.
