The Great Family Meeting

The atmosphere seemed tense as Sean entered the Deslaurier family mansion. A meeting between families that Sean had never imagined before finally happened. Everyone present smiled kindly at Sean. But Sean knew that the smile was a fake smile that was deliberately shown for him.

Sean doesn't care about that, whether or not he doesn't matter. He doesn't care about such a hypocritical family.

Sean had been in a hypocritical family environment before, and surely he knew how to deal with such a hypocritical family.

Sean reviews the smile made as normal as possible, without realizing it a woman noticed him. Evelyn is the son of Dave, who is David's older brother. It seems that Evelyn is secretly attracted to Sean. Evelyn's face seemed to be blushing as Sean looked at her and shook his hand as Sean introduced himself.

Although the atmosphere seemed friendly, but the aura of tension had been radiating since then made Marcus want to speed up the family meeting and solve the problem of division of inheritance rights.

Sean straightened his back, everyone was staring at him waiting for the words to come out of the man's mouth.

"I've decided that the Deslaurier company that David Deslaurier started will remain David's property until the end of his life. As long as David hasn't breathed his last, the company won't be handed over to anyone." Sean spoke in a stern tone without any hesitation.

One of them, Barack, who is Marcus's biological father, wants to confront Sean's words, but with a firm attitude Sean raised his right hand motionlessly as if he still wanted to continue his words without wanting anyone to interrupt.

"This decision is absolute and inviolable, for those who refuse and object to this decision can leave this house."

Everyone grumbled and cursed but they could only do so in their hearts. Sean stood up from his seat feeling that there was nothing to talk about anymore, he took a quick glance at the girl who had been watching him in amazement and put on a friendly smile.

Evelyn who was too amazed by Sean's figure as if she did not care about what Sean just said, instead the girl was flattered when Sean smiled just for her.

"I've expected it, whenever we won't get anything if the child stays alive" murmured Barack's brother David, Marcus's biological father.

The sound of a loud house phone spread the silence. Marcus immediately picked up the phone as no one was willing to reach out to receive the call.

"Haloo," just after the call was received Marcus' face suddenly turned deathly.

"What... well, I'll be there soon." Marcus looked at everyone and ended up towards Sean. He thinned his lips and gulped before finally saying "Sean, uncle is gone!"

"What?"

Sean and Marcus and the rest of the family ran to David's treatment room, and it was true that the room was empty, even the best guard Marcus had placed there was not a single nose in sight.

David was in stable condition, when after Sean went to see him his condition experienced a lot of progress. Even some of the life support cables are gradually released by the doctor because David does not need it anymore, Marcus also agrees that Sean's arrival is very influential with David's healing.

The old man felt that there was something that made him have to survive. Sean, the child he never knew, was born from his seed and he implanted it into the womb of the woman he loved so much that the end of his life suddenly came to see him, touching his helpless hands. It is a happiness that cannot be expressed in words.

He had always dreamed of having a family that sincerely loved him, not loved his wealth. But until the old days the desire had not been realized. However, Sean's arrival makes everything change. He was a man who had been living alone in solitude turned out to have a child.

They tracked down CCTV footage placed around David's treatment room with the help of hospital security.

"Traitor!" Marcus was visibly angry after he finished playing the CCTV footage as it unfolded. The guards he had hired took his uncle away without his knowledge.

Sean looked at everyone in the place full of investigation, he was sure as long as he had a bodyguard, they were all dedicated and loyal because the selling point of a bodyguard was courage, and his loyalty to his employer. It felt strange that the guards who he said were the best people they had instead chose to betray his master.

"If it was the guards who took David away, it would mean one of them was the real culprit."
