For the first time in 5 years, Dito has finally set foot back in Semarang. He was moved back to his hometown. Together with Anggi and Deo, Dito will return to his homeland. And it also means Dito must come to terms with his past. Sarah.
"Well, this is my first time to Semarang loh Mas." Anggi said happily when he saw the city of Semarang.
"Where do you think? Ga good? This is my hometown, Nggi." Ask Dito to Anggi.
"That's great, Mas. From now on we'll stay here, okay?" Ask Anggi enthusiastically.
Dito nodded.
"But we need to see my parents first." Dito.
Anggi's smile faded. Goddamnit! Anggi is too happy to move to this city until he forgets that his in-laws are also here. Inevitably Anggi must defeat his prestige and reconcile with both Dito's parents.
Indeed Mama and Papa Dito have forgiven his mistake and began to accept Deo. But it still seems hard for them to accept Anggi as his son-in-law. Maybe every time they see Anggi, they are reminded of the shame that smudges their faces. Or maybe seeing Anggi makes her second-in-law's guilt towards Sarah appear again.
Dito, Anggi, and Deo finally arrive at Dito's parents' second home. Where Dito spent his childhood and grew up. And it will probably be home to his little family as well. The house is still the same as the last time Dito saw it five years ago. Paint his house, the car parked in his garage, and even the plants in his yard.
Dito knocked on the front door of the house. Before long, a middle-aged woman with the typical ayu face of a Priyayi woman opened the door and greeted them.
"Dito? You came home today, Nang?"
"Yes, Ma. Sorry, Dito ga ngabarin. Dito wants to surprise Mama." Said Dito while kissing his mother's hand.
Mama Dito's eyes then caught the figure of Anggi standing behind Dito. His smile faded to see the figure of the woman who was with his son. Anggi reached out his hand to kiss her mother-in-law's hand, but her in-laws only returned with a cold smile. Mama Dito ignores her and turns to Deo, her granddaughter.
"Our grandchildren are already big yes, come here maen the same Yangti first!" Excited Mama Dito while holding and taking Deo away.
Anggi looks grim. It turned out that the cold war was still between them even though many years had already passed. Anggi wondered to himself. Is that so Anggi in the eyes of his two in-laws? But Anggi just wants to fight for her rights as a wife? Is that the wrong thing?
Dito read the disappointment of Anggi's face. He took Anggi's hand and kissed her. Hoping to ease a little disappointment his wife.
"Sorry Mama yes, Mama just needs a little time for you to accept." Dito to Anggi.
Anggi just nodded in silence. If his two in-laws do not immediately accept him as a son-in-law, perhaps Anggi should do another way to make it happen.
...****************...
Dito, Anggi and Deo were visiting the mall for shopping. Anggi whines asking for some new clothes for him and Deo because he thinks the clothes he has are old and worn. Dito just nodded and obeyed him because he never refused his wife's request. The three of them immediately went to one of the famous shopping centers in the city of Semarang.
While Anggi is busy choosing clothes for him, Dito invites Deo to play in one of the children's game rides. Dito waited in the waiting chair while Deo was playing with the other kids inside. Dito could clearly hear Deo's voice laughing out loud. It seems that Deo is playing with his peers.
"Basic children." Dito muttered with a small smile.
Then suddenly Deo shouted.
"Eh wait! Where you going? Don't go dong!" Deo's voice was heard calling out to a child who seemed to be smaller than him.
The boy ran towards the exit of the vehicle and Deo was busy chasing him. But the boy stumbled and fell a few meters near Dito. Dito reflex stood up and approached the boy.
The boy woke up and looked at Dito while saying thank you. He then ran away from that place.
Only a split second did Dito stare at the boy's face but somehow he felt very familiar with him. From eyes to lips. From her hair to her smile. Dito felt that the little boy he had just met was very similar to his face. But who's the kid? Why could that child be so similar to Dito?
Suddenly it was like a bell was ringing in Dito's head. His curiosity seemed to have answered on its own. The reason why the boy seemed familiar to him. The reason why the child had the exact same face as him. Dito seemed to get the whole picture of his question.
"Sarah.." he muttered softly.
Dito stood up with both feet. His head turned to the right and to the left. His eyes looked all over the mall looking for the boy. And finally he found it. The boy ran towards a woman waiting for him with a man.
"Mama!" The boy shouted as he ran towards the woman.
Then the little stranger went with a woman and a man waiting for him. Dito could not see the faces of the two people who were with the child because of the position of the two who had their backs on Dito. He could not help his curiosity and his heart churned in search of answers. Reflexively his feet moved about to approach the three people.
"Where are you going?" Tanya Deo who saw her Papa was leaving.
Dito's move stopped. He remembered his son who was still in the playground. Dito turned towards Deo and smiled.
"Ga everywhere. Deo played it? We're looking for Mama yuk!" Take Dito while holding his son.
A lie! Actually it was only Dito's reason so he could meet and find out about the boy again. But Dito's efforts were in vain. The boy and the two people who were with him were no longer where they stood. Dito clucked in annoyance at failing to catch up to him.
I need to find out who that kid is.
...****************...
There is a lot of business to do Dito regarding his move. In addition to taking care of the files for his move to the old office, Dito also had to take care of other moving documents. Another task that has emerged since he has children is to find a new school for his son Deo. And it turns out that finding a school is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand. There are so many things to consider from the cost to the facilities.
"Geez, choose a playgroup aja hard gini rich. What if Deo wants to go to college, right?" Dito asked while looking at the playgroup brochure in his hand.
"Yes itung-itung you practice for later choose Dito campus, Mas. You have a good choice yet to make Deo's school?" Anggi asked while sitting next to her husband and serving him a glass of tea.
The son, Deo, had been asleep in their bed from 7pm last night. Maybe he was too tired to play with his grandparents.
"How about tomorrow we see it directly to the school, Mas? The distance is also not too far away. Let Deo see and choose his own school." Anggi's proposal while reading the brochure held by Dito.
Dito appears to open his phone to check his schedule tomorrow.
"May I be empty tomorrow. We'll find Deo's school. At 10 we leave." Dito told Anggi.
Anggi immediately agreed on the words of her husband. She kissed her husband's cheek softly.
"Sleep yuk, Mas. It's 11 o'clock. Tomorrow we will be busy." Bring Anggi.
Dito nodded and followed his wife to the bed. Anggi and Dito slept on Deo's left and right sides. Before long, Anggi had already fallen asleep in his dreams. But not with Dito.
Ever since his encounter with the little boy, his brain had been constantly reminded of that boy. He wanted to find out more about the boy. What is his name, who are his parents, and why the child can look like him. But it seems that Dito had to delay his curiosity for a moment because there are many things that he must finish first.
