"If you are put to death, I don't want to live anymore either" said Li Ying who also returned Max's gaze.

"I don't want to die either, that's why I'm going to bet. I will risk my life in the hands of King Wei's Empress. I have heard much of the news about King Wei's benevolent and wise Empress, I will meet her and beg her to ease the punishment I will receive. This is the only way we can live together. If I fail and lose this bet, I won't regret it either because at least, you can live freely." Max thought.

After convincing Li Ying, Max brought Prince John's head. The man headed to the residence of King Wei using a horse carriage, the horse carriage belonged to Prince John. Max took all the man's possessions, he planned to hand them over to King Wei and his Empress so that he could be released from the death penalty.

"Please let me meet the Empress." asked Max after he arrived at the gate of King Wei's residence.

"Say your name and let us check your luggage!" said one of the gatekeepers.

Max thought to himself, "If I were willing to carry the head of Prince John, I would be immediately arrested before meeting the Empress. Now, what am I supposed to do?"

"I'm sorry, but I just remembered that I had other business. I'll come back later." said Max who immediately left the place.

Max stops the horse-drawn carriage in front of a small restaurant selling noodles and bakpaos. Max ordered a bowl of noodles and warm tea from the waiter.

"I'm proud!"

A large, bandit-faced man kicked the table upside down.

"You're asking me to pay for this junk-like food?" sniff the man.

A servant looked very frightened, he lowered his head with a face that looked almost crying. Max just started enjoying the noodles served by the waiter, starving, he ignored the commotion.

The bandit-faced man continued to be rude until he finally raised his hand about to hit the waiter who asked for payment for the food he ordered.

Max finished the last drop of soup in his bowl, he picked up the sword laid on the table then ran to the front of the servant. Max held the bandit man's hand with the sword still sheathed.

"Stop this commotion!" said Max.

"Who are you? Want to be a bad luck hero? It's chic!" said the bandit man he ended up spitting on Max's face.

Max, who had patience, simply wiped the spit on his face, said, "Please get out of this place and don't make a fuss!"

"You're really looking to die!" said the bandit man as he raised his fist towards Max.

Max held the fist of the bandit man with his left hand. He pushed the man with a slight force, the bandit man instantly bounced out the door of the restaurant.

"Wow... That guy is strong!" said one of the guests.

"It's good that the bandit finally got the reward. He always acted up just because he had a little bit of strength, it was very satisfied to see him getting beat up by this foreign man." Say to other guests.

"It would be best if he was beaten to death, so we no longer need to deal with him!"

"True, that's right!"

At that time a woman wearing a butler's shirt was watching from a table in the corner of the restaurant. The woman wore a face covering of green cloth embroidered with lily flowers.

The bandit man ran away as soon as he saw Max approaching him, but at that time Max just wanted to help him stand up. A waiter approached, he paid tribute to Max, thanking him for helping him.

"It's the payment for my food and drink" Max said, handing over 2 silvers to the waiter.

"I can't accept your kindness, I just kicked out the guy who interrupted my lunch. So you don't have to return the favor for that" Max said.

"Thank you Sir, thank you very much!" said the waiter.

"It turns out there is still a good man like this, he is not arrogant despite his strength. Helping people without expecting rewards is also one of the personalities that are very rarely found in today's era" said the veiled woman.

Max left the carriage he was carrying, the man then headed to the residence of King Wei on foot. Arriving there, he was again faced with the gatekeeper who asked for his identity.

"Tell me your name and what your needs are!"

"I am Max, the bodyguard of the western kingdom. I want to meet the Empress." replied Max.

"Only a bodyguard would dare to dream of meeting our Empress. You think our empress can be met by anyone, huh?" growled the guard.

"I know it's presumptuous, but I have important things to talk to the Empress" Max replied.

"Go there!" push the guard away while pushing Max's body.

Max tried to be patient with the guard's rude attitude, but the guards again insulted him.

"Baslak kebel don't know yourself!"

"Truly yes this guy from the west, their Prince could be a fugitive, now his bodyguard instead appears here and says he wants to see the empress, lest he also be a plotter of the fugitive Prince!"

"Already, stop! Do not continue with words that can bring this dispute. You want your tongues cut?" snapped the head of the bodyguard who happened to pass through the gate.

The head of the bodyguard looked at Max, "Go young man, Our empress is not someone you can meet all you want!" he said to Max.

The head guard then left the place and returned to carry out his duties to guard the residence.

Max looked at the two guards who had been insulting him since, the two guards did not want to lose, they also returned a sharp gaze from Max.

A moment later, a swordfight ensues as the doorman pelts Max with a stone he took from the ground. The stone almost hit Max's head but he confronted it with a still-gloved sword.

Meanwhile, the veiled woman who had been staring back at them just silently watched the show in front of her. Until Max almost pierced the heart of one of the bodyguards, the woman just appeared.

"Stop!" said the woman.

"Who are you? Women don't interfere in men's affairs!" sniffed one of the guards.

"It turns out your real attitude is like this huh?" ask the woman in a cold tone.

"We're acting like this, and what's the deal with you?" said the guard with a look of disdain.

"From today on, you two don't have to work anymore!" said the woman while opening the cloth that covered part of her face.
