014 - First Chain

"Since I was a kid, my parents were always busy with business. They always took the time to spend time with me.

"Every time the holidays arrive, we always take a vacation to the grandfather's house which is located very far from where we live. I'm very happy every time I go there, because grandfather's house is very big and we always do various things there.

"From the various things we did, there was one thing I liked the most, which was to enjoy the view from the top floor balcony. Because there I can enjoy a very beautiful view."

Bella stopped her story for a moment, she gathered her strength back and wiped away her tears that started falling back so she could continue the story.

"You should drink first to feel better" Rian suggested to Bella.

Bella listens to the advice and gulps down the drink Rian gave her. After that, Bella took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

"When the fifth-grade holiday was up, we were on vacation back to grandfather's house like on our usual vacation. In the first three days everything went normal. However, the next day .. hiks .. suddenly grandfather vomited blood and fell in front of me.

"I who was a child and knew nothing could only panic while crying. But, at such a time .. Grandpa instead called me and asked me to approach him.

"I followed him and approached him slowly. When I arrived .. Grandpa gave me a green pendant that was my grandmother's pendant."

Again her tears came back. Therefore, he paused for a moment before he finally resumed his story.

"He said the pendant was a pendant passed down by generations. So, grandpa told me to always keep that locket well.

"Not long after, he came and saw a helpless grandfather. I immediately took my grandfather to the nearest hospital. However, unfortunately .. hiks .. grandfather could not be saved, hiks…."

Finally his tears came out wetting both cheeks and Bella was crying bitterly for a while.

"Ee .. should be enough. You don't have to continue your story anymore, Bella," said Rian who felt bad.

"No, hiks .. I still want to tell stories," he said, trying to hold back his tears.

"At that time, the doctor said that my grandfather died from a severe disease that he had suffered for a long time. No one knows but Uncle Rei. 

"My father was angry with him and from then on, we never came to Grandpa's house again. I never thought it would be our last vacation there.

"Day after day passed, birthdays were getting closer, but my parents were getting further and further away from me. Ever since that last vacation, the two of them had become increasingly busy with corporate affairs until they both rarely came home and spent time with me again.

"The more the day the father's company is getting bankrupt, the bankruptcy is getting worse until finally the father must owe to many other companies.

"Until one day, something strange happens. Mothers who initially became irritable since the bankrupt company suddenly changed and always brought home expensive items with famous brands to the house.

"Father so, who initially began to not care about me suddenly changed and instead invited me to vacation abroad when my birthday arrived.

"It was once I asked where they got the money from and how the company was doing at the time. But they didn't answer and just looked at me like I didn't need to know about it.

"Because of that incident, I felt a little afraid of them as well as felt that something was wrong. But all I could do when it was silence and obedience because I felt it was impolite to interfere too much with their affairs."

"One day, both of my parents went to work as usual and promised to come home early to prepare for our holiday abroad.

"I was delighted when I heard it and sat in the living room waiting for their return with a sudden sense of anxiety haunting me.

"When their return arrived, the sound of the gate being opened was heard and I ran to the front door to welcome their return. However, when I opened the door, it was not my parents who were behind it, but rather some black-clothed men who looked suspicious,"

"Black suit?!" rian was surprised.

Bella turned to look at Rian. Rian who realized his mistake immediately turned his face the other way and apologized.

"I'm sorry, just continue with your story," 

"It's okay" she replied with a smile.

"They claim to be my father's old friend. They said my father told them to take care of me because my parents suddenly had to go abroad because of business. I didn't believe it at first, but when they called my father to prove it, I finally believed it.

"Now it's been more than five years that my parents haven't come home. Since the phone call that day, I've never been able to contact them again. Until I finally realized, it turned out that my parents had been selling me to people in black suits.

"Those people did take good care of me. But still I kept feeling scared whenever I was around them, it felt like something bad was going to happen sooner or later. Haa …."

Bella breathed a long sigh of relief as a sign that her story was now over. Her tears were no longer dripping and her feelings now felt calmer after a long story.

Rian, who had been a generous listener, felt sympathy for Bella because he felt that there was something in common between them.

"So, you're sitting here all night because you miss and want to see your parents again?" rian asked directly to the core of his question.

Bella did not answer him in a voice. But he nodded his head in response to 'Yes'.

"Then go home, it's late at night, it's not good for a girl like you to be alone at nights in a place like this,"

"But, I was afraid to meet them, I was afraid that something I was afraid would happen as soon as I got home" Bella said.

Rian stood up from his seat and glanced at Bella for a moment.

"Not to be afraid, they won't hurt you. If that happens just call me, Nanda, or Arya. The three of us will definitely help you because the four of us are friends, right?"

"Yes you're right, thank you so much for hearing my story" Bella said with a smile.
