048 - Duel of Death

Eden grasped the handle of his sword that was sheathed at the left waist and prepared to pull it if needed.

"Who are you, huh?! How dare you say that to me, are all elves as thick as you?" reply Dante.

His words made Eden feel offended, therefore he also released as much spirit energy as possible to be able to compensate for the amount of spirit energy that Dante released.

None of them were willing to budge and continue releasing their spirit energy while emitting a powerful killing aura. Because of this, the other Demon Hunters sitting around felt terrified goosebumps even though they were at a distance away from them.

Arya who was near Dante felt a tremendous pain all over his body, it felt like soon his body could be destroyed due to the energy pressure they both released. 

But suddenly Nicolas comes down from over Dante's shoulder and approaches him. Without saying anything, Nicolas crouched down beside Arya and touched her body which instantly made her no longer affected by the excess spirit energy that Dante and Eden released.

X the red-haired man who had since been behind Eden advanced with great difficulty and then kowtowed in front of Dante. Instantly, Eden and Dante lowered the amount of spirit energy they released until they stopped releasing it.

"Please! I beg of you, Division 10 Chief, let us grant Rena's wish" said X, hoping Dante would listen.

"Haaa?! Why should I fulfill the pleas of a dirty man like you?"

"Please, just this time," he said once again.

"Alright, but lift up your head, I don't accept prostration from a dirty man like you." 

X obeyed his words and began to raise his head along with his body which was almost parallel to Dante's waist.

However, suddenly Dante thrust his rusty sword into X's body which made fresh blood come out of the prick at once from his mouth until finally wet his black uniform.

"Hey Eden! Hows it? Are you mad if I ruin your toy?" asked Dante while smiling with excitement.

Dante wanted to see the reaction from Eden and he set his sights on him. However, unfortunately Eden had already turned around and walked away first.

Dante again felt annoyed, instead of being able to see Eden's expression he instead saw the number eight and the royal emblem of the elves on the back of the green robe he was wearing.

"X is not a toy, he is the great Vice Chairman of the 8th Division" Eden said as she walked away.

"Currently, it's not fun anymore. Go Nicolas! Let's just get to the edge and see what this dirty guy is going to do," Dante asked as he pulled his sword from X's body and walked over to the edge.

"Good!" nicolas Sahut.

Nicolas who had been protecting Arya from the excess spirit energy of Eden and Dante immediately ran up and climbed up the green robe Dante wore to get on his shoulder again.

After a while, Arya tried to move her body again and this time she succeeded. Arya tried to stand up slowly with both of her legs that were shaking due to the tremendous pressure from the spirit energy she had felt earlier.

"Are you okay?" arya asked who was worried about the bloody state of X.

Hearing the question X smiled, she did not expect that Arya would ask her how she was. 

"X! This might be a bit of entertainment while waiting for the gate to Altera to connect, so do it well and don't embarrass Division 8!" eden's orders in a loud voice.

Now, Eden was sitting on a pile of iron near the other Demon hunters who were sitting in a circle to watch something that was about to happen. Because the atmosphere in the place was very quiet without any sound, then X could clearly hear his orders.

"Good!"

X then rose up without any distress at all and wiped his mouth that was stained with his blood.

"Thank you for asking me how I am doing, I am fine because I have suppressed my bleeding and slightly covered it with my flow of spirit energy. Your intention to come here may be good, but I'm sorry I had to stop whatever it was that was Rena's last wish," 

"Yes, you didn't hear me wrong. Rena begged Chairman Eden that I would stop you if you had come to save you, at first I thought you wouldn't come but I was wrong."

X drew his sword and stuck it into the ground in front of him with both hands placed on the base of his sword while puffing out his chest.

"What's your name, son?" ask X kindly.

"A-arya Ananda Putra,"

"Well Arya, a few hours ago I picked Rena up by borrowing the name of Chairman Eden as a disguise. I don't have a name, but many call me X. So call me that,"

"It's been quite basic, Rena asked you to stop me right? Then I beat you up and I'll take Rena home!" arya said with a sharp look.

Little by little Arya flowed the spirit energy within her and slowly appeared a sword sheathed on the left side of her waist.

Sriyiv …!!

Arya drew her sword and all the Demon Hunters who saw the blade laughed out loud, except for X and Eden.

At first Arya was confused. But when he looked at the blade of his sword, he was surprised to see the blade of his sword which now only had half of its original length. 

"Do you want to defeat me with that broken sword?" ask X in a serious tone.

"Why indeed? You scared?" arya tried to intimidate him.

"Of course not, I'm the Vice Chairman of the 8th Division, with this I'll stop you!"

X drew his sword from the ground and positioned it ready to attack while pulling the side of it backwards.

Triiiyingg …!!

It didn't take a second, X shot past Arya at high speed while swinging his sword. Arya was unable to see his movements, but fortunately she was still able to fend off the attack thanks to her good reflexes.

Even so, a drop of blood started dripping from the small scratch wound he received on the right cheek and it created shock for Arya.

"Hurry up, how did he get so fast?" inner Aryan. 

"Well! I'm sure you'd be surprised. The earlier it was called 'Light Steps', the longer the distance of use then the lower the speed, but if the shorter the distance of use then the faster the speed," bright X with his position still in a finished state shot and attacked.

X then turned around abruptly and attacked Arya quickly and continuously without giving her any gaps. Arya who received the attack must inevitably continue to be hit back while fending it off in order to survive.

"Why? Are you having trouble?" x continued to swing his sword.

Arya felt provoked, on the next X attack she also tried to turn him in the other direction and took advantage of the opportunity to swing her sword to the neck of X.

"Slow," murmured X.

X took one step back and Arya's attack only managed to hit the wind. X immediately raised his sword up high and carried it towards Arya.

However, Arya rolled away avoiding him and a handful of sand was thrown by him into X's face to interfere with his vision.
