Chapter 14 Studying for the Exam

“Where are we El?” asked Nora who had followed Ellena's steps back into the city of Delos.

Three hours later Ellena and Nora almost got everything they wanted to buy—Ellena buy—so all that was left was Nora's order book. Now they stand in the largest store owned by Delos, the Tori Book store.

“Halo, welcome to Tori Book. What book do you want to read today, dear customer?” a cordial greeting welcomes the arrival of Ellena and Nora. A young girl— older than Ellena but shorter than her, smiled broadly.

Ellena replied with a polite smile, “Do you have a recipe book?” ask directly without further ado.

In the Adventurers Guild, there were several systems to raise Rank status. As for rising to higher ranks such as B and above, members no longer exchange points but take the Ranker Exam. The Rank Examination has 2 stages; Written and Practical Levels. The written stage was clearly aimed at testing the extent of the knowledge of the Rankers. While the practice stage is the stage where rankers who pass the Written Test will be given a special mission. Group missions, consisting of several groups with provisions from the committee. Ellena nodded, “Then you can read all the books on this shelf with three silver coins and can't take these books home.” Said the old man who was immediately greeted with a bright smile and eyes sparkling Ellena.

“You are very generous Sir. Thank you.” Ellena never hesitated to thank good people like the old man in front of her. He even gave five silver coins as an expression of his delight at the service of this shop.

“You can use the table there. I'll take a snack to accompany you to learn.” After saying that old man—who was then known as Isaac— went to leave Ellena who now opened her first book.

Before long Nora came with five books in her arms, “El, I'm done.” Said.

“I'll be here for a while studying for my exam. Take it easy, I won't be long.” Nora nodded in understanding despite not being sure her master would finish quickly. She also enjoyed reading but if Ellena intended to spend more than a hundred books, there was no way that much could be spent in a short while.

But it turns out Nora hasn't been with Ellena long enough. The half-human boy could not help but keep his mouth from opening when he saw the speed of reading his master. Nora believes Ellena was still reading the first page a minute ago and her eyes must have been lying because now seeing her master who was sometimes still cruel to her was half way aka half a book as thick as two inches had been read.
