The Rise Of Legend [LIGHTNING]
Chapter 9 Old Man Xeain

Luckily Auntie Em allowed Ellena some breakfast.

That morning, when the sun had yet to show its rays, Ellena was already preparing at the location that Aunt Em had mentioned to her. Being outside the city area, in a field that has been marked and a simple cottage house. The house is similar to a training camp because of the many tools that support physical training.

This place is far from the usual path through the newcomers. Hence this place despite being in the open, looked very quiet.

Ellena was wearing her training uniform. It was a dress made especially by Auntie Em. In the mansion, Ellena had many of these kinds of clothes because much of her time was spent exploring the forest or practicing with her aunt. But because Ellena did not expect there would be any training in selling routine to Delos, Emily had the good day to give this shirt. And somehow explaining it, the clothes this time were a little different from the usual.

“Bah! What does that wild woman mean force me to teach this skinny brat?!” the sound of the curse roused Ellena from her daydream.

From the door of the slammed hut, the figure of a large man with muscles here and there came out with an annoyed grouch. The man looked middle-aged, fifty and above seeing a lot of his hair changing white. Mustachioed and thin beards and forehead that always shriveled make his face impressed sangar. Even so the aura coming out of the man was strong.

Xeain Broklyn is a former chief of border guard soldiers west of— area in contact with Wood Empire which is famous for its wild animals. His career as a chief soldier ended seven years ago after a large-scale invasion of wild animals at a guard post and killed almost all of his subordinates. As a form of accountability, Xeain stepped down from his post and left with no news.

It was still early in the morning, but the creepy old man had brought a glass of bottle that Ellena recognized as wine. Eyebrows scented when his nose smelled the aroma of cheap alcohol that is used to drink adventurers when empty missions alias poor.

“What's with your face huh? Can I slap you a twig boy?!” jolt of old man Xeain—special call from Ellena—cruel and stupid. The old man stood before Ellena and looked closely at her face.

In that state Ellena desperately held her breath for as long as possible because she did not want to vomit and was slapped by the man who was in the inferno as her new teacher.

“Lumayan. You have talent in you, boy.” He said after a long time observing the clinging of the male-looking girl in front of him. Whether the new teacher knew or not Ellena's true identity from her aunt, Ellena would not ask on purpose.

“But you're too skinny!”

“Soft.”

“Pad!”

“Weak!”

“You will be captured and sold as a slave with such a face!”

If word could kill, Ellena would have died many times already. The mouth of this old man is very spicy and annoying.

“I...not that weak..guru?” Ellena is a person with a high ego. He is still weak but he believes he will grow stronger in the future.

Then unexpectedly a hand floated quickly towards Ellena. Next thing happened Ellena was already on the ground with her body trembling slightly.

PLAQUE –“Botten boy! I haven't even allowed you to become my disciple yet and you have already dared to return my words?!” Xeain looked annoyed at the skinny boy lying on the ground. He did not use all his strength but it was enough to make the weak boy understand his position.

Some days that Xeain's practice of guest attendance is not invited. Emily Ellyzze. An old friend from the capital. Xeain had long since disappeared and made sure no one knew him in this seclusion. But Emily casually went to see him and asked for help. Did Xeainppl refuse? Sure oes. But he underestimated the wild woman.

Something grows inside Ellena. He recognized that. Negative feelings of man—Anger. Aunt Em always reminded Ellena to be careful of this type of emotion. Anger makes a person stronger but with careless pay in other aspects. Ellena did feel angry at the annoying old man who dared to slap her at their first meeting but Ellena had her own way.

“Maaf—Pardon my sassness. Aunt Em did not tell me that my teacher candidate was a temprament and foul-mouthed parent.” Tukas Ellena rose with a smile—a kindly insincere smile that made the person in front of her emotional.

“What—”

“Know as soon as I bring soap from home.” He's messing around again."Your mouth needs to be cleaned until foaming. " The sarcastic remark had made the drunken man into an emotion.

“Cursed!”

The old man mercilessly threw a bottle of wine quickly at Ellena which he nimbly avoided but Ellena failed to see the continued attack of her new opponent. A fist pointed at her quickly and Ellena could not dodge. Ellena felt some of her bones were broken. But there was no time to check it because another attack came and Ellena forced herself to make a move.

The thirteen-year-old girl took out two knives and quickly attacked both eyes of the opponent. Old man Xeain repelled the attack at the expense of his arm. But Ellena's not done. He took out two other knives that had been tied to a long rope. Ellena throws two knives at the same time— targets both of her opponent's legs until they are tied to the rope.

When Xeain realized that both of his legs had been tied, he acted too late because Ellena had so desperately pulled the two ropes that she lurched backwards. Xeain coughed for a moment before waking up. But before he could move, sharp objects had been on both sides of his neck. Xeain glanced over and found two crossed blades on his neck as well as two other knives on each of his wrists.

That brief fight ended in Ellena's landslide victory. Well even though it was because Xeain underestimated Ellena from the start.

“Old sister Xeain, I've heard some of your stories from my aunt and I'm quite respectful because of it. But I am also not a fool who is silent when oppressed. Although you are stronger, I will always search and find a way to defeat my enemies.” Ellena's words coincided with the rising of the sun. Xeian was stunned by the brash figure that managed to make him silent for a while.

“You talk a lot boy. Get rid of your toys.” He said toys but Xeain himself did not dare risk recklessly injuring or even slashing his own hands. He was old and needed both arms intact. These knives are sharp too.

But Ellena is also a vengeful boy so..., “Good but before that introduce my name El, Mr. Xeain.” Speak in the strongest possible tone.

“I don't need your name! Quickly release me.” Jerky Xeain emotion.

“Call me El, Mr. Xeain.” Ellena said again as if Xeain could not hear her.

“Ck, childhood fools, hurry up!”

“My name is El, old sir.” Ellena hasn't given up. In fact he deliberately switched the call ‘Tuan’ to ‘Pak old’ again.

“Kau—“

“El. Isn't my name very simple?”

“What cares—“

“Oh? Can't you hear that well, old man? Forgive me, I forgot parents like you on average are indeed used to experience early deafness.”

“Bocah busu—“

“Then I will report to my aunt while you can relax first. I'll be back after.yaah later in the evening.”

Xeian's eyes bulged and nearly popped out of her sockets as Ellena completely turned around and walked away.

The boy was intending to keep him sprawled on the ground and exposed to the scorching sun all day? Goddamnit!

Eventually Xeain gave up.

“BOCAH BRASH! WELL, YOUR NAME, EL—SI EL BOY, COME AND FREE ME LITTLE FOX!” xeain's roar even woke up the birds that were still perched in the trees.

While Ellena smirked in satisfaction before returning innocently innocent as she faced back at the poor man she had worked for.

“Lain times I will still bring soap.”

To wash the dirty mouth of the old man who is currently relentlessly cursing Ellena with more diverse language.
