Stay #2

Nania's hand crept in search of Daryl's hagat body that hugged her all night. But he could not find it, which made him open his eyes.

The man was indeed not in his place, even the place he had originally been lying down was already cold. That means Daryl left her a long time ago.

Nania was stunned with her spinning mind. How could the man sleep in his mother's humble house? Because even though he carried the needed items, it was impossible to feel comfortable when compared to what he had in the mansion.

Until then, Nikolai will still be Nikolai even if there are other people who enter his life, and that seems very clear. It is he who has to adjust, and not the other way around.

"He must have gone home to the big house" he murmured, restoring his long hair.

How could it be possible for that man to stay there even if it was only last night?

Nania was disappointed, but it was understandable as well because it was so. But his attention shifted when he heard a crisp laugh from the back of the house.

He listened carefully then recognized who the owner of the voice was. Daryl is Mirna who seems to be talking behind the house.

"Nania was very close to her father, so it's no wonder that she chose to leave when we were apart." Mirna was cleaning the kitchen utensils she used to process chicken and the food she sold.

It was still very early in the morning but the woman chose to move because that was how she did every day. And Daryl just sat on the terrace with a glass of coffee from a ceramic cup on the kitchen shelf of the house.

"Mother's fault is also because it does not take care of it properly, coupled with Sandi and Hendrik's presence." Mirna put a large pot on a table and it became the last item she cleaned.

"Ah, jesus! Mom's old apparently? Just doing this is getting tired." He wiped off the sweat on his forehead while walking then sat not far from his daughter-in-law.

"Good to see you, huh?" The two stared at the building of the house that belonged to a neighbor. The area was indeed dense but at this kind of hour it still felt quiet.

"It doesn't seem like a coincidence?" Daryl took a sip of his coffee that was getting cold.

"Looks like. It is impossible for God to meet someone with you without a clear purpose."

The man nodded his head.

"And I think he's also very influential on you, huh?" Mirna laughed as she looked towards her daughter-in-law. He will not forget how the interaction between Daryl and Nania before going to bed.

They argue for a long time and sometimes like two people in a dispute. But after that Daryl relented and then acted like a child. And that often makes him hold back a smile.

"Yes that's it. My mother's son influenced me a little. Just imagine, every day she acted especially since she was pregnant. There's something he wants to do."

Mirna laughing. "Patience. Pregnant women are usually so." He patted his daughter-in-law's shoulder.

"Yes, I think Nania was indeed sent by God to test my patience as thin as a tissue divided by seven. The extent to which I can learn to refrain from being easily provoked and more calm in doing things. The proof is, it is like that."

Mirna smiled.

"I can't imagine not meeting him. Mom knew? Maybe I'm still engrossed in my own world regardless of anything." The man spoke with his sparkling eyes, and even in slightly dim lighting, Mirna could still see them clearly.

From the look of his face alone Daryl harbored a great love for his daughter, and it was a great relief. At least, she was sure that Nania would not be alone again living her life if she were to leave one day.

"Titip Nania, huh?" mirna said suddenly. "Now his home is you, so it's certain that everything he will do with you. Take good care of her and make sure her life is happy. Because Nania's been suffering enough."

Daryl turned his face towards his in-laws with a frown.

"Mom can't do it, so I hope you're the one who's gonna do it. Always treat him well and never leave him for any reason. He has no one but you."

"Why do you talk like that?" Daryl responded to his words.

"It's okay, just .. just want to." The woman laughed again. "Thank you for being her most pleasant home. So I feel calm because I already know."

Daryl.

"Well, after this you have to go to the market to get the chicken. So if you want to go back to sleep, go with Nania."

"Ah, I've had coffee, so there's no way I can sleep anymore." The man gulped down his cold coffee.

"It's up to you, but I have to go to the market. The chicken is waiting." Mirna got up from her seat, and it made Nania rush back to the bed held in the middle of the house after listening to the conversation secretly.

"Mommy wants to be delivered? I'll call the driver if I want?" bargain Daryl to him.

"No, there's this angkot, right?" Mirna got ready with clothes that were closed enough to dispel the cold air at dawn.

"Seriously?"

"Yes. Sleep again, it's still dawn, right?" The woman glanced at the wall clock that showed five in the morning. Then he left after. While Daryl returned to the bed where Nania was who still seemed to sleep under his blanket, with the water purifier that remained lit all night, making the room in the middle of the house feel cool.

And Daryl had just laid down his body next to Nania when the woman slugged and hugged him.

"Hey, are you awake?" He returned his embrace, but Nania did not answer.

"It seems like staying here isn't bad either, I can sleep you know. But hearing that I've done something so early makes me wake up too." Daryl tightens the hug.

"Babies?"

Nania remained unanswered, but she stretched out her hands so that she could embrace the man's shoulders. Then landed a kiss on her lips that left Daryl stunned for a while.

"Bobok again, Daddy. I'm sleepy." Then Nania buried her face in the man's chest with a haru feeling that filled her chest.
