The Decisive Battle Begins

I was a little relieved to see Lisa coming, I saw her waving her hand. Suddenly, the man in front of Lisa jumped off his horse in agile motion and slid towards me. Raising his greatsword the man slid swiftly, trying to attack me.

In an instant, I felt adrenaline rush into my body, ready to face this attack. I with sharp reflex jumped to the side, dodging his attack.

A loud bang echoed as the man slammed into the ground I had just stepped on. From behind the flying speck of dust, he quickly rushed to attack me. The man launched a streak of attacks, with agile and precise sword movements. I swiftly dodged every attack, shifting at the same speed as his movements.

Suddenly I lost my balance and fell to the ground, seeing me off guard the man immediately launched a deadly attack right at my head.

In that short moment I heard Lisa screaming. “Gerald, stop!”

Suddenly, just as the greatsword was about to hit my head, a strong wind wave struck the surrounding area. The leaves of the trees moved in chaos, the dust and grass were swayed by the sudden crashing wind.

In an instant, everything stopped. It was as if there was a sudden silence enveloping the battlefield. When I looked ahead, I saw the large sword, only a few centimeters away from my face. But the sword did not move anymore.

Lisa immediately ran up to me, her face looking worried. “You're okay, right?” lisa said as she extended her hand to help me stand up.

Suddenly, Lisa's facial expression turned serious. He approached the man with firm steps, his eyes piercing sharply at the man. "Gerald, what are you doing? Why did you attack him suddenly?!”

The man just fell silent, I was also a little confused. “Lisa, do you know this man?” My toot.

Lisa looked back at me and bowed. “I'm sorry, this stupid man is my brother.” I looked at the man, he just smiled as he rubbed his head.

“Hahaha... I'm sorry, I thought you were the bandit.” The man said as he re-inserted his greatsword into the sword sheath tied around his waist.

Lisa with an annoyed expression instantly hit the man's head. “Stupid basis, what if your attack hit him?”

I just fell silent to see Lisa scolding her sister. After that, the two of them approached me. “One more time, I'm sorry for the actions I did.” The man stretched out his hand and continued saying. “I Gerald.”

Despite still feeling a little upset, I accepted his handshake with an open heart. "I forgive you, Gerald. But we need to learn to be more careful in situations like this."

Lisa nodded in agreement, indicating that she had also started to ease her irritation. "True, you must hear what he says, Gerald.”

Gerald nodded with regret. "I promise I will be more careful going forward.”

“How about your friend?” ask Lisa.

I looked towards the bandit boss leaving. “He has been taken away,” I replied in a low tone.

“Then, we have to catch up with him,” Lisa said.

Gerald looked at the bandits I had defeated, then looked at me and said. “Wait, how about these bandits?”

Lisa looked at her brother with an irritated face and replied. “You're the knight leader, just order your subordinates later.”

Gerald let out a long sigh, he approached one of the bandits lying on the ground. “Alright, you guys grab that horse. I'll tie this bandit first.”

After riding on one of the horses with Lisa, we immediately went to Gerald who was tying the bandits in a bond. “Gerald, hurry.” 

“You guys go first, I'm almost done.” Gerald said as he received his horse strap from Lisa.

Lisa patted me on the shoulder and said. “Alright, let's go.”

We both set off following the direction the bandit boss left. On the way Lisa asked me. “I don't know your name yet?” I glanced a little back and answered. “My name is Seva.”

Lisa nodded and smiled. “Oh... Nice name,” said Lisa. I felt Lisa leaning against my back.

I rode the horse carefully, feeling the vibration of the beast's body beneath me. In the darkness of the forest that enveloped us, only the sound of wind gusts could be heard. We moved quickly in pursuit of time, following the faintly visible traces below.

In silence, suddenly a speck of light shot out rapidly towards us. I quickly pulled the horse firmly. The beast, responding to my orders caused its body to slow down and instantly stop.

I held tightly to the horse's bridle to keep my balance, Lisa also held on to me tightly. I looked around the dark forest to find out the origin of the fireball.

“Who's there?” Lisa shouted out calling whoever was responsible had attacked us blindly.

Suddenly the moonlight was covered by something creating a black shadow that covered us from above. As soon as I looked up, a familiar figure was seen sliding towards us quickly.

I immediately pulled the reins of the horse trying to dodge. But everything feels so fast. The sound of a loud bang created when the figure hit the ground created a huge shockwave, sending us crashing from the horse we rode.

“Hahaha... I knew you wouldn't give up.” There was a sound from behind the flying dust.

As the flying dust slowly settled down, the moonlight again lit up the place then the figure of the sturdy man with a wide smile on his face began to be clearly visible amidst the gripping silence.

That's right, that's the bandit boss we're after. I didn't expect him to make an impromptu attack rather than choose to flee, this man's determination was worthy of praise.

I tried to get up when I looked at Lisa, she was still lying. Soon I ran to where Lisa was. “Hey, wake up fast” I told Lisa.

Lisa awoke, her gaze still blurred, as if her eyes and mind were still trying to digest where and what situation she was in.

“Wah... It looks like you brought help this time.” The bandit boss said in his arrogant tone, he slowly approached towards us.

From behind the bushes another bandit member appeared, each of them carrying a complete weapon. Their numbers were far more than before, had they called for reinforcements and deliberately waited for our arrival.

I stared intently one by one the bandits who appeared, trying to find Arin's whereabouts. However, none of them brought Arin.

“Lisa, let's wake up.” I tried to shake Lisa's body, lucky she responded immediately. “Sorry... I've been fine as soon as-” Lisa's words suddenly cut off. I looked at Lisa, her facial expression looked surprised.

“K-You?” lisa said as she pointed towards the bandit boss.

The bandit boss laughed at once. “Hahaha... You know who I am, little girl?”

I looked back at Lisa. “Lisa, do you know who she is?” my many.

Lisa looked at the bandit boss in horror then replied. “He was the man responsible for human trafficking to be made a slave and he was the one who once destroyed the mill village in the western region of Warenburg.” I saw droplets of sweat coming down from Lisa's temple and she continued. “Most wanted criminals in Warenburg, The Night Hunter Jack.”

“You're right, little girl.” Jack said with a happy-looking facial expression. “That's me, Jack The Night Hunter.” He laughed out loud.

“I didn't know that you were responsible for kidnapping me and the four women.” Lisa continued, her facial expression looking angry.

We both got up standing together. I saw Jack step forward with a definite step, expressing his dominance over the situation. The smile on his face exuded a gripping calmness, as if showing unwavering self-confidence.

I looked towards Lisa despite the fear that surrounded her mind, firmness reflected in her focused eyes, ready to face whatever was to come.

The moonlight slowed down slowly, creating an elongated shadow around us. Under the pressure I could feel our heartbeats pounding in rhythm.

In one powerful leg jolt, Jack dashed towards us at the following with his subordinates.

Lisa immediately pulled out the sword sheathed on her waist, as well as me preparing to face all of them.

We looked at each other, strengthening each other with determined gazes. Starting from my steps and followed by Lisa from behind, the two of us advanced running towards the bandits.

Gerald immediately got on his horse. With one powerful jolt on the horse's harness, he sped up his pace following Lisa and Seva. “Wait for me, you two.”
