Chapter 38 - Just the two of us

I opened my eyes and saw a wall covered in gold carvings and a very large and luxurious mattress that filled my body.

I stood up from my bed and changed my nightgown and I I saw my face on the glass and it looked like I was sleep deprived.

It had been a week that I had trouble sleeping since that day, I walked out of my room and there were two guards standing guard, they saluted me by lowering a little bit of his body to the floor.

I walked towards the library because it was still very early in the morning even the sky was still dark, to fill my free time before work I went to the library.

The library is located at the very end of the back of the palace through the main hallway.

I walked towards the bookshelf shelf and searched for books related to the door and the mountain that was destroyed as a result of my fight with the Demigod first.

After a few minutes I looked for it but I did not find the right book, I was a little disappointed but I saw one book that captivated my heart.

With a bright red cover and gold writing, I picked up the book on the top shelf.

The title of the book was "Path" using my analytical skills I could read the book because the language used was not human but it was very familiar but I did not remember what language it was, I sat at the table near the entrance and lit a light stone to light my desk.

I opened the book slowly and it looked like it was a picture book.

The first page was a picture of a human wearing a shiny armour and he was prostrating with his knees touching the ground.

And his face was looking up at the sky that was cloudy white like milk.

On the second page of the human was seen fighting with a lot of monsters.

And the more I turned the pages in the book the more humans killed monsters and the number was countless.

Until my hand stopped in a courtyard it was seen that man was worshipped by many other humans.

His face became so happy that a very wide smile was on his face, he flew towards the sky until he was not seen anymore.

In the next courtyard the man was seen in a very large and luxurious palace and the palace was located above the clouds.

The man was looking down and looking at the other man.

Page after page I kept opening it, a little bit of the smile that adorned his face began to fade and only the sadness left over from seeing the humans getting more and more cruel torturing each other.

And at the end of the page he said "Is my choice wrong?, what if my different self became me would this world be at peace?".

As I finished reading it, suddenly a voice from behind me called out to me.

"King, king"

I turned my head to the side and saw the library guard calling out to me.

"Sorry the king is bothering you, won't you have a meeting soon?"

Ah it's time well I stood up and put the book on the table and rushed off to the meeting room.

At the meeting everything is the same as usual but there is a new topic at the end of this meeting which is the wedding because tomorrow after tomorrow I will marry Isabella and one city will be our party stage.

Argg I could not sleep at all thinking about the marriage, Isabella's face looks normal again but lately she started to talk to me a little bit even her attitude has been a little different, do I have a wrong?.

After the meeting I checked our wedding preparations until tonight and tonight it looks like I only slept two hours as usual.

She walked on the red carpet towards the same stage as me, my nervousness instantly dissipated from seeing her beauty.

Every step of her foot on the red carpet looked extremely charming with her slowly starting to climb up the stage stairs and stand before me.

And then my nervousness came back again and this time a sweat as big as a corn seed came out of my skin.
