Repeating the Past

"Dad, want to have a grandchild because you want to atone for the sins of the past." Mr. Gani spoke with great sincerity. Kania can see clearly. "You must hate Dad, right?" 

Stunned Rangga, Kania glanced at her husband.

Mr. Gani several times gave a rough sigh, but did not lower his head. Stay straight looking at her child. "Sorry, Son."

Rangga immediately turned around, the first time in his life to hear the word from the father. Staring closely at the face of Mr. Gani, a father who never thought it existed. 

Mr. Gani widens his smile. "Maybe Dad's way was wrong, but before Dad pulled you into the company. I've already found out the figure of a good wife candidate for you. And, your wife is the best candidate. Women who can take care of themselves are also against the opposite sex."

Kania jerks. Is it possible that he has been under surveillance all this time? Coulda.

"I mean Dad?" Rangga slightly jerked.

Mr. Gani stood upright looking at the Son, stepping forward once. Now it is really only half a meter away with Rangga. Holding both shoulders Rangga said, "In this world, all fathers want their children to be happy. Want the best for them. But, maybe Dad's on the wrong path. I'm more headed toward forcing you both. But, seeing your gazes coming here today, I think that mistake can also be sweet."

"Dad, happy to see Kania tormented?" ask Rangga.

Mr. Gani was silent. Then, say, "Sorry, because this is your wife getting hurt."

Gani turned to look at her daughter-in-law. "Sorry, Ride." This time the apology was for the daughter-in-law. "Thank you for being in our family."

Kania smiled a little.

The atmosphere was so silent, there was not even a sound between them anymore. However, slowly the atmosphere was not too stressful. There are times when the dispute turns sweet when both sides choose to continue making peace.

"Son, I'm sorry for all the treatment from the first time you were born until now. I'm sorry, because maybe you were the target of anger and disappointment Dad had with your brother who chose to end life." Mr. Gani is sorry.

Rangga. The sentence was only heard now, but it did not touch the heart. Maybe because it is too accustomed to the name of coercion and can make peace with yourself without a touch of affection.

Mr. Gani's hands are still on both shoulders of the Son. He stroked quietly and said, "If you ever have children, I will make sure to make up for all the mistakes. Dad, I'm going to educate her with great affection. He may not know anything, but at least I can repeat your childhood and your brother's past."

Kania waited for her husband's reaction. I don't know what it's gonna be like. Because, from the look of Rangga's eyes does imply a lot of anger and disappointment towards the father. Every human being has the same right to change in the future.

"Dad." Finally, Rangga opened his voice. Closing his eyes for a moment, as if it was hard to say words. 

Mr. Gani is waiting with a mindless mind. Whatever Rangga said was his son's decision. He just needs to respect from now on. "Speak, Son. If you are angry, that is your right. If you refuse, that is your right. I am old and sorry now. Sorry."
