What a Beautiful Divorce

What a Beautiful Divorce
2. Marrying

Prapto replied to Tini's greeting, who was now standing near her husband. "Darling, are you home? Today's your turn, '" asked Tini.

Timo took a quick look at Prapto. From the way he saw it it was clear that Timo was embarrassed because his wife's question was heard by Prapto. "Already, Honey. You'll be tired of coming home from work. So, how could I not do my duty" he replied.

Prapto's stomach suddenly became nauseous hearing the chatter of the couple. After Tini passed into the house, Prapto asked Timo, "Whose car drove your wife, Timo?"

"He was my wife's friend, and they also worked at the same company. Why, Prapto? You know him?"

Prapto grinning. "No, I don't know. Do you believe that women and men can be friends, Timo?"

"Of course" Timo replied quickly, "just like my wife's friendship with the man who drove her home earlier."

"You're mistaken, Timo!" refute Prapto, "are you sure that before they came home they did not stop at the cafe to eat and chat while laughing, while you were at home sweeping and cooking? Are you sure that man will still drive your wife home if your wife's face is like a can filled with asphalt?

"And will your wife be delivered by the man if the man's face is not much different from the dry comban that has just been doused by rain? They're interested in each other, Timo. I'll go first, thanks for the coffee."

Prapto is very confident that this time Timo will not have a wise answer again.

"Durr!"

It was as if there was lightning striking right before Timo. Let alone to answer, to move even Timo can not now. Timo was riveted and frozen in the pendopo and looked at the wooden floor with an empty eye. He understood the meaning of Prapto's words. He felt the flames of anger begin to burn in his heart.

"Not pretty, honey?" silvi asked Prapto while showing her the wedding dress of her choice.

Prapto. He could imagine that the dress would definitely look beautiful when worn by Silvi. "Pretty. The dress will be very beautiful if you wear it, dear," answered Prapto honestly, making Silvi smile misbehaved.

After buying a wedding dress, Prapto and Silvi eat at a cafe which is quite luxurious. They were talking and laughing as usual. Prapto has always loved his moments together with Silvi.

Silvi is a carefree and intelligent woman, but her feminist understanding often makes Prapto think not only twice, even hundreds of times to marry Silvi. About love do not be asked, Prapto really love Silvi. It was also love that finally made Prapto force himself to marry.

Silvi stops first at Prapto's house before returning home. He was warmly welcomed by Prapto's mother. Ibu Prapto really likes Silvi because they have the same views and they are both feminists.

Once when Prapto told his mother about his turmoil, her mother said, "This is modern times, son. Silvi is a perfect woman and she has a good career. If you don't marry Silvi, you will lose once." His mother's words were echoed by Prapto's father with a nod while looking at the phone screen.

Prapto is often confused. At home the decision is often taken by the mother, not by her father who should be the leader of the household.

Housekeeping duties are also divided between his mother and father, which is actually only a brand, because in terms of household affairs Bi Asih and Mang Kari are the main actors.

Since Prapto was a child, he was taken care of more by both of his household assistants, while both of Prapto's biological parents preferred to be busy working in pursuit of the sparkle of money.

After Silvi came home from his home, Prapto went to relax in Mang Kari's small garden located behind the house. Mang Kari looks busy tidying plants and flowers while whistling. He stopped when he saw that Prapto had been sitting on a long bench smoking.

Mang Kari sat on the bench and was offered a cigarette by Prapto. Mang Kari who is like a father figure for Prapto was frowning his forehead, making his old face increasingly show wrinkles.

"What is it that disturbs your heart and mind, Den Prapto?" ask Mang Kari.

Prapto felt bad because his housekeeper understood him better than his own father and mother. "Nothing, Mang. I'm just tired" answered Prapto.

But Mang Kari who already considers Prapto like his own brother does not want to lose. He smiles. "The face and vibration of Den Prapto's voice indicate that Aden's mood and mind are not calm. Is that about Den Prapto's wedding with Silvi?"

Prapto exhaled his cigarette smoke while looking up at the overcast sky. "Yes, Mang. Mom and Dad are so eager for me to marry Silvi. I told Mamang that Silvi won't stop working after marriage?"

Suddenly, Prapto's father was heard from the direction of the Garage cheering, "Mang Kari, can you please come here for a moment?"

Prapto nodded as a sign that he advised Mang Kari to see his father, although his words had not yet received a response from Mang Kari. Prapto smokes his cigarettes deeply. He loves Silvi, and he hopes that after marriage Silvi will be able to compromise to stop working.

The day came when two men named Silvi and Prapto were bound in a sacred bond called marriage. Many attendees came to the lavish party. They came to congratulate and eat luxury dishes from overseas recipes.

Prapto and Silvi feel very happy for their marriage. Prapto's previous doubts become instantaneous because of Silvi's beautiful face, and because he tries to be sure that Silvi will be willing to compromise later.

Prapto has made a mistake because he does not use his logic. Prapto is wrong because he follows his feelings without thinking. And that is the result of watching yutub content overnight that addresses the wrong things about the dynamics of modern human households.

The wedding ceremony also arrived at a flower throwing session, which according to most people, if the flower is caught by someone, then the person will soon get married too in the near future.

Flowers are thrown. Unmarried attendants try to catch the flower, some even jump in such a gesture to get the flower.

The process of throwing flowers takes place in a slow time motion, as if nature deliberately slows down the movement of time so that the flower arrest event takes place more dramatically.

The man who jumped just now almost caught the flower, but he failed because his leg was pulled by another man who also wanted to get married. As a result the flower was struck by his hand and flew towards the guest bench where the ones sitting there are now only married couples.

The flower fell on the lap of a man, and of course the man was married, as he sat beside his wife.

Everyone is silent. The man's wife's face was pale. "This is not a good sign. One of my married friends once got a flower toss, then shortly after he divorced his wife" said an old man who also sat on the guest bench while shaking his head sadly.
